Top-Quality and Friendly Service 6/2/2012

Sitting through the appraisal was like an hour or so of pure entertainment. It's clear Ben loves what he does and is proud of his business (he's been doing it for 59 years!). He was spot on the original GIA stats, despite having to measure stones in their setting rather than loose. He explained everything step-by-step, keeping me engaged the whole time. It was the first on-site appraisal I had ever watched, and I will certainly be back and recommend the Jewelry Judge to anyone! more

I recently purchased a diamond sapphire bracelet from eBay. I wanted verification that what I purchased was genuine. After reading many, many positive reviews for Ben Gordon, I made an appointment. The whole experience was very positive. I was taken into the lab and able to observe the entire appraisal process. The experience was fascinating. Also I found out my bracelet was the real thing and I had paid a fair price. I would recommend Ben Gordon for any jewelry appraisals. more

Swift and Complete Appraisal from a true expert 4/29/2012

I recently needed to update my paperwork for an investment quality diamond ring. After reviewing the extensive credentials of Ben Gordon online and communicating via phone and email with his staff, I decided it would be worth the three hour trip to Houston to meet him. I was very satisfied with the result. He performed the appraisal in my presence and conducted a quick initial survey of the market. I would not hesitate to recommend this service to anyone. more

Visit to the Jewelry Judge 4/22/2012

I arrived in the office and everyone there was very welcoming and as Ben worked he took the time to explain each phase of the process as he was doing it. Kristi was helping him as well. Loved my mini diamond eduction. My visit there was very pleasant and I was so pleased with his appraisal that I plan on returning with more pieces for him to appraise very soon. more

Diamond Appraisal 4/8/2012

I felt unsure of what I had purchased since it didn't come with a GIA certificate but Ben Gordon did an amazing job on explaining to me what I was looking at as he went through his process of appraising my diamond. I left there feeling great and better educated on my once in a lifetime purchase. He and his wife were the friendliest people I have met in the jewelry business and gave me great information on diamonds. I would recommend them to anyone. more

Very impressed 2/13/2012

My fiancée and I went to see Mr. Gordon to have her engagement ring appraised. We we're warmly welcomed into his office. The appraisal was done right in front of us and Mr Gordon explained every step. We left there with appraisal in hand, along with an email version sent to us. I would definitely recommend him for anyones appraisal needs. more

Excellent Visit Once Again 12/23/2011

I used the Jewelry Judge to appraise another piece of jewelry for my family, the visit was remarkable once again. I learned so much about my stone including when it was originally cut. Ben was able to identify color, clarity, size, and diameter without looking at the AGS Certificate. A new addition to the office Kristi compliments Ben perfectly with her amazing eye for diamond specifics. I plan to visit them very soon with a brand new watch. more

I have taken jewelry for appraisal at another company where I sat in a different room and waited. This experience was completely different, Ben very kindly explains the process and allows you to observe how he appraises your jewelry. The entire process from scheduling the appointment, to the actual appraisal, was fast and easy. I would definitely reccomend their services. more

If you need your jewelry appraised, I recommend the Jewelry Judge! I didn't know a thing about understanding the value of a diamond until yesterday--thanks to Ben Gordon! That one visit taught me so much. And I was so nervous about trusting anyone with my diamond that I searched for this service via the BBB website. They were right! My fears were eased from the moment I met Linda until the appraisal of my diamond with Ben and his assistant. This is good old fashioned, excellent customer service! more

I had the pleasure of meeting Jewelry Judge Ben Gordon at his office for an appraisal of two rings. He was very knowledgeable of diamonds, jewels, gold and everything related. He taught me a lot about diamonds as I sat and watched him analyze the rings and rate them. I was amazed at all of the high tech equipment used and the judge's historical knowledge of the pieces he was appraising! Great! more

Honest, easy, informative and pleasant. What more is there? I have been in his office on three separate occasions. Ben is a living library ............but he doesn't live in the past. Ben and his very able assistant keep up with the "new" wrinkles of the trade. Thank you Ben. more
