UPDATE! I called in another plumber who FIXED my faucet! with no issues at all! For 150.00 an hour. Total came to 325.88 which I gladly paid. Be assured that I am reporting you to the BBB and to any licensing agency I can for the price gouging antics and false information practices you employ. I am also expecting a full refund as stated earlier. On Jul 18, 2015, at 7:35 PM, Eileen Metz I am writing to tell you that I was extremely dissatisfied with the service I was told I could get. I was very clear when I booked this appointment what type of faucet this was, what type of allen key and tools were needed and I was specific about the part that needed to be replaced. I also HAD the replacement part! While George was polite and courteous your outrageous pricing was price gouging. I was told he would TRY to fix my faucet for 298.00 with no guarantee that he would be successful and that to replace the faucet with your “beautiful plumbers faucet” standard on every plumbing truck would cost 750.00. I paid your fee of 69.95 plus tax but in retrospect I think I should have been told on the phone that this was a job this man could not complete. I would not have had him come if you had been clear that this would be an issue. You are a plumbing company and as such know what you can & cannot do. Your taking my call with full disclosure of the problem beforehand was a deceitful business practice. I therefore expect a full refund to my American Express card immediately. Technician was very good, professional and friendly. We had a little bit of an emergency situation so I guess I was just concerned about getting that under control. You can't underestimate that frame of mind you are in when you have a small disaster in your house. In retrospect, I should have questioned the high priced quote and asked for an itemized listing of the charges. I am pretty sure we over paid easily $500 if not more! Of course I now have the benefit of hindsight. But, they did show up at 8 am within an hour and a half of calling and fixed my issue by the time he left about 5 hours later. When you call for emergency service you don't have the luxury of getting a second or third quote. They basically got you over the barrel. I can't help feeling like I was taken advantage of. Also, after spending $2k they still charge you the visit fee! Definitely would not recommend for non-emergency job. more

Ask for Billy! Prompt, skilled, informative, yes, I paid the high price for an emergency Sunday evening service call, but it was well worth it to have someone of that caliber knock on my door! more

They are the most expensive plumber that I have ever hired. Small job cost easily more than $1,000. Use them if you are millionaire and want to throw your money out for nothing. more

Way overpriced! The minimum job they want well over $400.00 To install a simple sink facet.. Don't ever use them unless you don't care about your money! more

I will agree with the other ratings as far as a quick response and a very good tech. Tim was patient and professional. He was able to identify the problem quickly and made sure everything was checked. My only problem was the price the company charged a 500precent mark up. It would have cost me over $200 more to repair my hotwater heater then to buy a new one. I feel that was completely unreasonable and would never call again. more

WE HAD PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT FIX, BUT WAS STILL CHARGED $200. GENTLEMEN SAID THAT IT WOULD COST $1200 TO $1400 TO FIX, SO WE PAID THE $200 AND SEND HIM ON HIS WAY. WENT ONLINE AND FOUND ANOTHER COMPANY WHO TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM AND CHARGE US $380 FOR THE SAME WORK AND DIDN'T LEAVE UNTIL FINISHED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. more

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing did quite a bit for my home. They sold me a water heater, installed a new furnace, drain for my sink in the kitchen, and shut off valves and set up an extra set of valves. Since these underground leaks are difficult to detect (in fact another plumbing co. Couldn't find it due to lack of equipment /experience), we had our doubts as to whether or not Ben Franklin could find it. Anthony put these to rest as he very competently found it and fixed it, along with his colleagues. Everyone was very professional and pleasant, and Anthony was especially easy to discuss things with and took the time to explain everything. We can see why this company made the LI Press Best of LI list! more

Arrived on time and ready to go. Inspected all the basement pipes by loosening pipe insulation wrap. In addition to the one leak I called about, he discovered 3 or 4 additional leaks in my pipes. He took me through the process and showed me the incorrect work done by the previous homeowner and gave me a few different repair options. Work was neat and exceeded my expectations with extra shut off valves to deal with any unforeseen future leaks. In addition, while replacing pipes, corrected the shut off valve for lower bathroom by bringing the pipe height to the correct height so the water can now be shut off to the toilet for repair or replacement. Another previous mistake from previous homeowner. It was a nice surprise to find this corrected issue without even asking. This is my fourth experience with them and I have been satisfied each time. more

(This should be a prequisite for all repair companies.) Eric provided effective information regarding our plumbing choices. His work was thorough and he was pleasant to work with. . more
