Owner & General Manager Mike quoted 7-10 days for the completion of the project, which included new travertine pavers, new coping, new waterline tile and Diamond Brite. During the initial meetings the GM was given a style sheet complete with all choices, including photos, names and, when appropriate, stock numbers. The project began on 12/1/2014 with the first 2 days involving the demolition of the existing patio; there was no further movement on the project until late in the day on 12/9/14. The “crew” scheduled to install the patio, ended up being 1 person, and as a result, this portion of the project alone took until 12/15/14, and includes a poorly laid surface with ragged cuts and rocking stones. Additionally, this “crew” installed and grouted the waterline tile without the agreed upon decorative tiles. To correct this, the incorrect tiles were popped off and the correct tiles installed and grouted approximately 30 minutes before the Diamond Brite installation began. Those tiles now sit proud of the rest of the tiles because a new layer of mortar was simply slapped on over the old instead of being installed properly. Final clean-up resulted in debris being stacked on our neighbor’s lawn without his consent (he was a saint about this) for several days. It appears most of the products needed for this project were ordered in advance, even though the project was scheduled over 3 weeks out, and many were ordered incorrectly resulting in unnecessary delays. Paver installation delay was due to the wrong color paver being ordered. Additional delays stemmed from the decorative tiles being ordered after the plain field tiles were already installed. Finally, in an effort to be done with this project and the pain of dealing with this company, we accepted the final mistake made by Bella Pools, the Diamond Brite crew arrived with the wrong color product.
