Beautiful Buffet 9/14/2009

My family and I went to Bella on Sunday for their brunch, we had a party of 6 walk in when it was busy. We were seated promptly by the hostess and our server was at our table immediately filling our water glasses and explaining the brunch to us and where to locate everything. Overall we had a great time at Bella and we will definitely be back for the brunch. Reading some of these reviews and seeing the negative responses about the service makes me wonder if we were at the same restaurant? We were greeted with a smile by the hostess our server was absolutely helpful and the staff was really great. Maybe it just depends on when you go and who is working? If that staff will be there next Sunday you bet I will be there. Pros: Great service and brunch. more

This restaurant doesn't care for it's customers 9/13/2009

We have a new baby and had not gone out to a decent restaurant in a while. Finally managed to plan a Saturday around the baby's schedule and hoped to have lunch at Bella. Got everybody cleaned, dressed and made it to the restuarant at 2:05 pm this Saturday. While the staff was figuring out where to seat us the Manager came out and told the staff they had closed for lunch at 2:00 pm. Now, I had just checked their website before leaving my house and it clearly said they served lunch until 2:30 pm on Saturdays. The Manager promptly left without a word of apology or explanation to us, his local customers. I was quite perturbed by this behavior. The staff was a bit embarrassed and tried to apologize to us; even they were not aware that their website said lunch until 2:30 pm. Clearly this reflects a lack of customer focus and even decency. I had to pack my baby back into the car and went to Axel's bonfire for lunch; they had much better service than Bella. Pros: decent food Cons: poor customer focus more

Horrible 8/16/2009

I was at Bella and there was mold in the parmsean tins, the server said they don't wash them but consistntly fill them every night!! The service was horrible. Also when I found out they sisco delivers threir food, I thought it was extrmely overpriced! Cons: Mold in parmasean cheese more

Adequate, Overpriced Food; Poor Service 7/20/2009

I have dined at Bella on several occasions and have consistently walked away less than impressed and dissatisfied that I spent my money there. If you do not live in the north metro, there is absolutely no need to travel out of your way to dine at Bella. The food is the ubiquitous Americanized Italian fare that is adequately tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would not have a problem with this if their pricing reflected the quality of their food and substandard service. At Bella, you pay Pazzaluna prices and get upscale Olive Garden cuisine. My service experience has ranged from adequate to poor. Service is generally slow and management unhelpful, but I have run into an occasional server that is knowledgeable and pleasant. The patio area is well manicured and enjoyable in the summer, and the interior is modern and relatively inviting. A decent setting for a strip mall restaurant. If they lowered their prices and improved their service, they might have a winning combination of their hands. For me, I will not return unless I use a Happenings or other coupon and go with low expectations. Pros: Nice Patio Area Cons: Poor service and management; Overpriced more

Horrible Management 5/11/2009

The ownership needs to take a serious look at their management. Unprofessional and rude, avoid Kenny at all costs, not only will he ask you to take your hat off but he might grab you. Pros: $2, 16oz. Bud Light Cans. Cons: All management. more

Great Brunch 4/6/2009

I read some of the latest reviews - are you guys sure we are talking about the same place.? We went there on Sunday and had the greatest brunch we had ever had. The place was very busy, but we were taken care of...very well. Our server was excellent, he kept making sure that we had everything we needed. We will definately go back - and tell our friends.\r In reading some of the previous reviews - it looks to me like the management did just the right thing - it got rid of disgruntled employees - the ones who were causing problems and probably writing their own reviews.\r This is a fine dining restaurant which shouldn't have to deal with people like this. \r Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Pros: What a value brunch Cons: professional service more

Poor Management, Great Bartenders.... 3/24/2009

As a person who frequents this place known as ""BELLA"", I would first like to start off saying there was a lot of potential for this establishment to succeed. Great food intimate setting not all the drama you find at other bars. Well unfortunately it has gone straight down hill. Here are a list of things I have noticed in the last 3 months. *They finally figured out how to keep all of the outside lights the same color, keep it classy bella! *The best bar manager they had, got let go. And the only reason half of the 30 people that ever go there did. *Kenny the manager is always being seen hitting on patrons, mostly men and sometimes inappropriately touching women patrons. *Kenny the manager getting into verbal and physical confrontations with patrons of the bar and employees. Meanwhile he was heavily intoxicated! And it was completely his starting of the issues. *A female GM was seen just this weekend on Friday, wasted on the job asking women to take of there shirts stand on the bar. Taking and giving free shots to those women! When I say drunk I mean drunk, I can drink and this GM was wasted and mind you on the job and to the point the bartenders looked uncomfortable around her! If you ask me Bella didn't need to let some of it's staff go that they did. They needed to take a good look at what they are left with and realize that's who should be gone! The management is horrible, look at what happened to Rapids !?!?! Related issue...I think so! The only thing right at that place is a couple Bartenders and the guys behind the wall cooking the food. Good Luck Bella, I would love to open a Buffalo Wild Wings in your spot! Pros: Great brunch/Bar service Cons: Drunk out of control Managers more

Wanted to eat there but they never came to seat us. 3/19/2009

Stopped in there with two of my friends on a whim to get dinner one night. We stood by their host/hostess reception area and waited for about 5 to 10 minutes for someone to come by and seat us. In that time we were noticed by a bartender and a server but got 0 service. Went a few shops down to another Italian restaurant that was fantastic for roughly 1/3rd of the price. Pros: Looks decent from the outside Cons: No host/hostess to seat you. more

Word of mouth referrals 3/19/2009

We used to live in the Twin Cities and still have family near Blaine. We usually come down about once every couple of months and like to try new restaurants. \r \r We were considering the Bella for our next trip down (end of March), but I will never, ever consider eating in a restaurant where very inappropriate behavior by employees, on the clock or not, is tolerated.\r \r How in the heck is this Kenneth guy still employed?\r \r Thank you, Citysearch, for helping me avoid a potential catastrophe. Thank you, SIAndy, for spreading the word to the people you know. \r \r What a joke.\r Pros: Not a chain Cons: Very poor reviews, both online & in person more

Kenneth Didnt get suspended...Not even FIRED! 3/16/2009

Being the DJ in the whole situation I would like to state my side of story. The manager we speak of walked into Bella belligerant and immediately walked up to the DJ booth stating ""I am the evilest mother F-er in the world"" Giving him a passive look I continued my job playing music. about 10 or so minutes later Kenny was fighting with the gentlemen in the above story. Claiming he was a manager he told the 3 men to leave Bella and that he ""ran this b*tch"" When the men asked to speak with a manager Kenny stated ""I am the manager mother f-er"" The manager on duty stepped in and tried to calm down Kenny...with no prevail. 10 minutes later Kenny went back to the kitchen area and stayed there for a little bit. He then came to the DJ booth where he started using profanities with me. I told him ""Kenny, I do not know whats going on, but I am only here to play the music."" He then went on saying that I was nothing but a h@nky and threatened to call his boys from Chicago to come get me. He continued taunting me for about TWENTY MINUTES! I then packed up my DJ gear, told the manager I didnt have to take this, and I left. I was told that others working at Bella were injured during the restraining of Kenny after I had left although I was not there to witness. The following week I went into work to find Kenny already working. Surprised that he was not fired, NOT EVEN SUSPENDED, I told the manager I would not work for a company who condoned this type of behavior and I left. I said I would come back if something was done. The next day I found out that nothing was going to be done and they were going to just sweep it under the rug. I was told that ""Kenny was not on duty the night of the incident, therefore we cant do anything about it."" The problem is, Kenny represented himself as not only an employee at the time but was kicking people out like a manager would do. It does not matter if he was clocked in or not, he represented himself as a manager. I have been DJing at Bella for quite some time now and have always enjoyed the people who worked alongside with me. Unfortunately I have lost all respect for not only Kenny, but for a restaurant who would still want to employ someone who would behave so badly. I will no longer be DJing at Bella. I was completely disgusted with the whole scenario and apologize to any patrons who had witnessed the horrific acts that occurred that night. My reputation has been tarnished and I'm sure Bellas has been destroyed. For that I am sorry. Pros: Did have good music Cons: DJ quit more

Kenneth only got suspended, not fired!!!! 3/12/2009

After talking with him at the bar in a friendly manner for several minutes, Kenny took it upon himself to grab me in the crotch area unprovoked. He told me I was the ""big d*ck one"" and my brother-in-law was the ""cute one."" Because I consider myself civil, I did not get confrontational and, instead, decided to get up and go to the other side of the bar. He then started talking to my brother-in-law. After a couple minutes of civil conversation, once again Kenny grazed him in the crotch area. When my brother-in-law did not respond to his advances and stated he was not a h*mosexual, Kenny got extremely upset. He accused my brother-in-law of being in denial about his sexuality and he threw my brother-in law's drink behind the bar, smashing it to the ground. He also swore at him several times and used several racial slurs towards him and the rest of our party. I assure you that none of his behavior was provoked by our party in any way. Kenny then took my brother-in-law's coat and told us all to get out. He told us that he ""ran this b*tch"" and did not want us there anymore. The other employees took it upon themselves to calm him down and returned us to our seats and directed Kenny to a different part of the bar. The bartender apologized on his behalf and purchased us a round of drinks.Several minutes later, an altercation between Kenny and the DJ ensued involving Kenny shouting profanities at the DJ. After the DJ left the premises, Kenny had to be forcibly detained by several employees until the police arrived. Kenny continued to use racial slurs and swear at anyone and everyone in the bar that would listen to him.On his way out of the premises, he took it upon himself to tell a black couple sitting at the bar that ""they were just as bad as the rest of us honkies.""I will never return to Bella. My friends will never return to Bella. And everyone and anyone in the community I can tell to not go to Bella will hear my story. more

best unknown brunch in northern metro 3/1/2009

We walked in as a party of four with no reservations and were promptly seated (this was our first brunch). Ice water was brought immediately. We noticed the salad and seafood line when we came in and had definate plans to try that. Our server explained the price and what was included. The mimosas were GREAT! Recommend the cannoli, the fresh pasta that was delivered to our table was wonderful. Try the berry crepes, they do a great job. Just a heads up, this is our third time there and we have been there when it is really busy and it can be a bit hectic. Overall 4 stars for the three times that we have been there. Worth checking out for lunch too, prices are reasonable and service is great. more

Go for brunch! 2/22/2009

I have never been here before but my experience was great. A beautiful setting and a huge selection of food that was all very fresh tasting. Made to order omelettes to a chocolate fountain. A good deal at 16 a person including a beverage. I felt as if we had gotten our money's worth. Our service was prompt and friendly. It was not very busy at this time though. I would go back for brunch. Pros: Fantastic brunch more

Poor Service-Food With No Flavor! 2/16/2009

My first impression....walked in. Red head on phone while waiting in line to talk to her about getting a table (by the way, she needs to cover up with more than just a tank top because she is not cute and her black top looked horrible with her pale skin! Also-its winter!) So... waiting......she gets off the phone after about five mn.... talks to the person ahead of me with no smile ""dont give a sh-t"" attitude. That customer did not look happy...then, my turn...asked her about getting a table....she walked away to check something....for like 5 mn....came back said after she seats a few people she will then check on a table........I said screw it and went by the bar area....Why for a place that looks so nice have people work there with poor attitudes??? The bar area....bar tender was slow and left the bar at one point when multiple people needed to be waited on...my meal had no flavor and they had to bring me out a different plate of food....sighs......New emplyees will be needed to make this place work...durring a recession the owner should choose wisely otherwise you will keep getting one to zero star ratings...its a shame....the place could have potential. Pros: Atmosphere Nice Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE LACKING! more

Bad Service 2/1/2009

Our party of six had a dinner reservation for 6:30. We waited until 6:55 to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were squashed in at a table meant for four. After bringing out drinks and taking our appetizer order, our waitress disappeared and did not visit our table again for 20 to 30 minutes to take out order. After taking our order, we waited for over 30 minutes for our food and had to ask someone else for bread refills. FInally, my husband went and found out waitress and asked her where our food was. Meanwhile, the tables around us were seated after us, and were already finishing their meals. When we finally got our meals, mine was barely warm. Our waitress was not sorry for the service. We did talk to someone, a pseudo 'manager,' and received 4 free drinks and 2 free desserts. Overall, service was not a priority. more

Management service horrendous 11/17/2008

The main reason I would not recommend Bella is due to the service. I tried reserving the private dining room for 18 people serving a three course meal and ended up cancelling due to lack of response and being treated rudely by the staff, Kenneth, in particular. The first time I called I spoke to Joe and was told the minimum for reserving the private room is $1000 and he said he would send me the menu for choices. I never received the menu. I called two more times for Joe and both times he was out and did not return my calls (unsure whether he even got the messages). I spoke to Kenneth both times who was extremely rude and snobby. He told me the minimum was $1500 and when I asked to talk to Joe he said he would pass along my message. In the end I never heard from Joe and neither of them ever sent me a menu. My mistake for thinking they would appreciate a guaranteed $1000 minimum on a Tuesday night. more

Do not waste any time or money here. 11/9/2008

I ate at Bella twice. I don't know how I ended up there the second time because the food was very bad for the price I paid for it. Absolutely no customer service at all. This place has awful management and they screwed up reservations two out of two times I went. My girlfriend and I had spaghetti and fettuccini Alfredo and some soda and it was over 70 dollars. Our server was such a bimbo, she kept serving us the wrong drinks and when I ordered lemonade, she brought me a long island (i am 19). \r \r When I asked for a refund, the claimed they would send me one. I never received it in the mail, and when I called a few weeks later the store manager ignored me. \r \r This place looks like a cave, and it definitely feels like one because there is a bunch of trolls running around serving minors crappy food and alcohol. Do not waste any time or money in Bella.\r \r Pros: nothing more

Beautiful, great food! 7/4/2008

I recently visited Bella in Blaine with my husband. We did not know it was there until we saw the beautiful exterior as we were driving by the sports center a couple weeks earlier and decided it looked like a nice place to go. We were greeted by Kenneth quickly upon arrival in a very friendly manner. I explained that we were celebrating our anniversary, so he had us wait at the bar while he prepared our table. They set it with a white tablecloth and gave us an intimate booth in the back of the restaurant. We were very impressed with our server who made sure to make every part of our evening memorable. The food was amazing and looked beautiful. The calamari is the best I've had since vacationing on the coast. I am not much of a steak lover, but the Bella Filet is amazing topped with crab and a sweet honey bourbon butter sauce. The server surprized us during dessert with glasses of champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary, a very nice touch. Bella has done a wonderful job bringing class to Blaine and we will make sure to spread the word. We have a new favorite restaurant! Pros: Ambiance, great food, friendly and timely service Cons: Not enough people know about it! more
