Do NOT pay by check 9/16/2011

We paid over $300 to have our dishwasher repaired. Not only was it not repaired, it's completely dead, will not work at all now. These guys want more money to come back!! I paid by check, so now I'm faced with suing in small claims court to get my money back. A hassle and a ripoff. If you try these guys, pay by credit card in case you have the same experience as me. If they say ""check only"" kick them out. more

Be Careful Using This Company!!! 12/23/2009

I wish I had read these reviews first!\r \r The tech came to fix our Viking cooktop. When he left, the knobs were binding. I called him back about a week later and he blamed me for pushing too hard on the knobs. He moved the knobs around and the problem went away -- temporarily. But after only a few uses, it would come back. I tried everything to fix the problem but it would not go away. Then, their office refused to come back and fix it unless I paid for another visit.\r \r Of course, no good money after bad. I called JAG and they found the cooktop was mis-aligned. They fixed it in a few minutes and the problem is gone.\r \r I also found out that Bay Area Appliance is no longer a Viking authorized repair company. Why didn't they tell me that when I called them the first time? I wonder why they are no longer authorized?\r \r So beware. Fixing your appliances could cost you double. Cons: You don't get what you pay for. more

Grade ""F"" 10/21/2008

I wish that I had read the other reviews before I had these people at my house. When he arrived I had two working ovens that just needed checked. When he left I had two nonworking ovens and that was 10 days ago. Plus, the technican caused one of the breaks and when he spent hours working on it (didn't fix it) the bill went over 350.00. Also, did not clean up after himself. Customer service is the worst. They do not return phone calls or call when promised. One day they have the part needed, the next day they don't. I do not understand how this place is still in business. This is truly an example of a company out to get every last dollar out of you. He worked as slowly as he could. If I could give it less than one star I would. I give this business a ""F"". Please look elsewhere if you need any appliance repaired. more

Avoid at all costs! 4/3/2007

If the other reviewers didn't make it clear, Bay Area Appliance is absolutely THE WORST. I have never dealt with anything like it and it's amazing to me that they are still in business. A dishwasher problem took five months to resolve and ended with the manufacturer making good for all of the expenses and inconvience we encountered at the hands of BAP. We experienced unreturned calls, technicians doing work that wasn't necessary, inappropriate billing, staff turnover, and often rude treatment. By all means, pass them by! Cons: poor service, rude employees, unresponsive, incorrect billing, the worst customer service ever! more

Not reccommended. 3/9/2007

Do not use this company! 5/21/2006

Honestly, this is the worst company for customer service that we have ever dealt with. It took them 4 visits to fix our dishwasher (a month's worth of time in total) and it is still not fixed correctly. The technician was rude and argumentative, it takes a long time to get an appointment (it seems like the average time is a week to a week and a half), the office staff seems to have no interest in customer service, and it appears to be impossible to get the management to call back regarding problems, forget about taking any responsibility for technical issues that their own technicians create. Cons: incompetent staff, rude technicians, long wait for appts more
