BAnfield Pet Hospital is Neglegent and Overdosed my Dog! 9/12/2011

Elk Grove Banfield overdosed my dog on its meds!!! Bad practice! My miniature Chihuahua was too small to receive meds without benydryl, so they wanted to keep her for the day so they could monitor her in case she needed a second dose, well apparently when they gave the second dose they missed the decimal point and overdosed her sending her into a seizure and extreme over excitability for several hours to come. They then had me rush her to an emergency pet hospital where they gave her an IV and flushed her system. She had to be monitored overnight and was extremely traumatized, not to mention my children! All this for a routine vaccination! \r At first I wasn't too furious, mistakes happen, until the manger refused to return my calls and failed to to follow thru with crediting my account for the charges for the visit like he said he would. I have tried the appropriate steps for follow up with no response from the manager!\r Opened a claim with the advocate team and its been three weeks wi more

Banfield The Pet Hospital is Uncaring 9/1/2009

I agree that the Staff at Banfield seems to care very little about the overall well-being of pets. They're a business and only there to make money. It's sad, but true. They behave like they can't be bothered, and it isn't surprising in the least that they walked right by a moaning dog without even a glance. We won't be taking our dogs there anymore. more

Very Disappointed 2/19/2009

I just want to express my disappointment about their location in Elk Grove, California. We move to Elk Grove from Fremont. Our dogs used to be on Optimum Wellness Plan in Fremont until we moved in July. Because of the hectic schedule between two moves, we were not able to renew our Plan immediately. Fortunately, our pet has been okay since then. We were intending to renew their membership when the time permits. Then just Saturday we were faced with one of our dogs having an anxiety attack of some sort. He was clearly in pain. We figured this situation needed a vet?s attention so we decided this is the time to renew the plan and take him to Banfield. We arrived at that Banfield at 4:30. We were told that it would be a while before the doctor sees us and we said it was fine. My Pet started to have another panic attack that he even hit his chin on the ground that he started bleeding. Nobody showed any concern even duting this incident. The receptionist took him inside to be looked at more

Not the best experience... 10/26/2005

My dog ended up at this pet hospital by accident. She was being groomed at the groomer in the store when the groomer injured her toe. Since it was their fault, they sent her over to their pet hospital, which was Banfield. My dog was well cared for but the staff wasn't very friendly and on the return vist, they claimed that my dog needed some unnecessary treatment which ended up costing me a lot of money. I got the feeling from this pet hospital that they were out to get my money and not looking out for the best interest of my pet. more
