Love This Place 11/29/2011

Never going again 3/14/2009

Wish I could give this zero stars but the lowest this allows is one star. I planned a night out with the girls since my husband had been out of the country for 3 weeks and I really needed to get out for some adult conversation. I only had a sitter for 3 hours and figured that was enough time. We met at Azuls at 7:20 on a Friday night and were told it was a 30-40 minute wait. ( they do not take reservations) Keep in mind there were only 3 of us in the party. Since there was no room in the bar so we decided to walk around Mill Creek Towne Center and come back in 30 minutes. We told the seating hostess and gave her the cell number. At 8:00pm we checked back with the Hostess and she says ?Well I am sorry it looks like it will be another 30 minutes or more.? I could not believe it- I mean we already waited 40 minutes. In my book this is unacceptable. When I ask her what the problem was since we only needed a table for 3 she said well some people just seem to not be moving and just hanging out.( Aren't seating Hostess supposed to plan for that?) She did not ever feel bad and almost seemed to gloat when she said it. I then said I have a sitter for 3 hours and you already used up one hour of that time. She said sorry nothing she could do. Well with no guarantee that we would be sitting by 8:30 never mind how slow the service might be we had to find another restaurant elsewhere. I am glad we did- we ended up going to Thai Bistro- got seated right away and the noise level was noticeably different. We were able to talk without yelling at each other. All 3 of us agreed we would never even try to go back- I cannot imagine the food being that good that people are willing to wait over an hour. Pros: No Pros- Cons: Cons- Poor service by seating hostess- never got seated more

Worst Restaurant Experience I've had 2/9/2009

My friend suggested that we try out this restuarant-apparently it has really good food. So we get there and they seat us and we order drinks, they ask for our ID's, and the waitress asks if she can take my ID to the back, I assumed it was because it was an out-of state ID so maybe the girl didn't know where to look or something. 20 minutes later a guy comes out and asks if it's really me on the ID.....duh.... he asks me a bunch of questions and said that he needed to call and confirm its a real ID because they've had a lot of fake ID's from Arizona... another 20 mins the guy comes back and says that he cannot serve me because he ""couldn't get a hold of anybody"" and he has reason to believe is not me. REALLY as a restaurant manager/ employee you should be able to tell if an ID is fake or not. SO rude. Meanhwile my friend still hadn't gotten her drink. They didn't even ask me if I would like something else to drink besides water. Food was fine, I've had better. The only thing is my friend and I both got really sick from the food and we both had different things. I've never been so sick in my life, I would never go back Pros: Good chips and Salsa Cons: Bad service, bad food preparation, over priced more

Not to bad 8/6/2008

After reading the other reviews we were not sure about going to Azul. Well we did go and it was pretty good. The service was very good, the top shelf margarita was fantastic and the fajitas were good, they just needed a bit more ""flavor"" Pros: Top Shelf Margarita Cons: Fajitas need a bit more flavor more

I'll never go back 7/26/2008

I'm giving this one star only because I can't submit this entry with zero stars. I used to be a regular at Azul's, even though the drinks are overpriced and the service is terrible, because the salsa is so good and every once in a while you'd get a really great meal.. Not anymore - I no longer patronize this restaurant. The last time I ate there, I cracked a tooth. A few days later, the owner phoned and told me he would take care of the repair bill, and then warned me not to rip him off (he warned me twice) - before I could even say a word. He was rude, insulting and condescending. After I had the tooth fixed, I left 21 messages before he called me back. He blamed his staff - he said they never gave him a single message. 4 months later I finally received a check for 15% of the repair cost, That's right. He paid $130 of a $980 repair bill that would have been covered by insurance. He wrote to me that it was my fault because I ""probably had bad teeth"". On top of that, the check stated that by cashing this check I released them from any further damages. If he had done what he said he would and paid for the repair, I would be writing a different review today. And has been previously stated on this site, watch your statements - my charges have come in overcharged twice. more

MIA server with attitude 7/14/2008

Half of my party arrived early and sat in the bar while we waited for the other half to show. We ordered drinks and didn't see our waitress for about 20 min. The rest of our party showed, ordered drinks from the bar due to a MIA waitress, got their drinks before we did. We ordered food off the happy hour menu, didn't get silverware or napkins. We had to ask to get our waters refilled on numerous occasions. A friend didn't get her salad she ordered, and another member in the party found a chicken bone in their nachos. Disgusting. When we told the server about the bone she asked, ""what do you want me to do about it"". We got a drink taken off our bill. Speaking of drinks, no happy hour specials, and 8 bucks for a 8 oz cocktail, no thanks. Don't let me forgot to mention the disgusting men sitting in the booth behind us being incredibly obnoxious staring at every girl in the bar. Doesn't surprise me a place lika Azul has patrons like those. Cons: service, food, servers, owner, loud mouth patrons more

great chips, nice nighttime atmosphere for the area. 6/24/2008

My husband and I went there for dinner this evening. They have seating inside, outside, and at the bar. Shortly after being seated we were given water, warm chips and salsa. the chips were wonderful and the dip was very flavorful, but not too spicy. i ordered their starter salad with balsamic vinaigrette and it was great. for my entree i ordered coconut shrimp that was served w/a dipping sauce, red rice and green beans. the coconut shrimp were a little over cooked, but the dip flavoring was nice, it had a kick to it. the rice was very moist and yummy while the long green beans were just okay. my husband ordered the white fish enchiladas with beans and rice. overall, he thought it was okay. the portions were fairly large. the next time i visit i would probably opt for an entree salad, they had a few choices. a couple sitting next to us was sharing a brownie a la mode that looked great, but we were too full for dessert. i think their bar would be nice to take friends out for a lingering evening too. Pros: great warm chips and salsa! Cons: service only okay more

Watch Your Credit Card Bill 4/17/2008

Thanks to a previous reviewer, I double checked my credit card statment and guess what? I had been overcharged as well. A $54 charge + $10 tip became a $69.00 bill. It's difficult to say if this was intentional or not, but I always do the math for the waitress so it's hard to blame this on user error. more

A-watch-ul-credit card 9/9/2007

Being a resturant professional of over 17 years and traveling the world with my ocupation, I have seen many types of service and cooking. I find being constantly underwhelmed with service and food in the Puget Sound area especially in resturants with menu prices in the 8-15 dollar range. My mom, wife and I decided to try Azul after passing this hip and airy looking resturant in Mill Creek's answer to U Village. The ambiance is cold, a couple of candles on the dry stack facade, and annoying, gossipy waitresses who appeared to be picked based on looks as opposed to brain cells and a bar stacked with Mill Creeks loudest gave us the impression we made a mistake. After deciding on an entree, it arrived in good time. I want anyone who reads this to know I am an expert, and when I pay 8-15 dollars I dont expect Rovers or The Met, I expect a satisfying meal with good flavor, ""I'm happy with my life"" service and an intuitive fill on my beverage. Not to hard, right? Azul's food tastes of dried spices, lots of cheap chili powders, an over dressed and flat salad, glutenous potatoes and my wife's raw and cold in the middle salmon sandwich. After vainly attempting to attract anyone's attention, I had to get up and bring the plate back to the wait station where 4 waitresses were standing around talking. I showed the waitress the raw salmon and politely asked If she could just take it off the bill. Her response was which made me feel like I made a mistake. She came back to the table, apologized for the previous raw sandwich, gave us a new salmon sandwich to go and promised to take the food of the bill. Service can be taught to monkeys and can leave a deep impression on any situation good or bad. Hurrying our meal not feeling any comfort in Azul, we paid our 24 dollar ticket and left a generous 4 dollar tip. When the credit card statement came in the mail our waitress decided to write in a larger tip with the total charge being 39 dollars. Go to Dennys at least they get it right. Pros: The water Cons: Everything else more

Great atmosphere and a good Happy Hour menu 4/27/2007

My fiance and I stopped in on a Friday evening for Happy Hour. I was disappointed that they didn't have any drink specials (and the drinks are pretty high priced). Their food specials were great. We shared a quesadilla to start with. For dinner I had fajitas and he had the pork chops. The pork chops were amazing (and I am NOT a pork chop fan usually), I was sad that I didn't order them. Wonderful ambiance and they definitely bring that to the table where most Snohomish County restaurants lack. Pros: Ambience, Parking, Friendly Service, delicious food more

best breakfast, outstanding customer service, great atmosphere 4/13/2007

Comparing this to breakfast joints in the Seattle are would be an travesty. They have an eclectic menu to choose from along with a plethora of mixed drinks to choose from. Oustanding ambience, 4 star food and and amazing customer service will keep me coming back more
