Review content:
Being a resturant professional of over 17 years and traveling the world with my ocupation, I have seen many types of service and cooking. I find being constantly underwhelmed with service and food in the Puget Sound area especially in resturants with menu prices in the 8-15 dollar range. My mom, wife and I decided to try Azul after passing this hip and airy looking resturant in Mill Creek's answer to U Village. The ambiance is cold, a couple of candles on the dry stack facade, and annoying, gossipy waitresses who appeared to be picked based on looks as opposed to brain cells and a bar stacked with Mill Creeks loudest gave us the impression we made a mistake. After deciding on an entree, it arrived in good time. I want anyone who reads this to know I am an expert, and when I pay 8-15 dollars I dont expect Rovers or The Met, I expect a satisfying meal with good flavor, ""I'm happy with my life"" service and an intuitive fill on my beverage. Not to hard, right? Azul's food tastes of dried spices, lots of cheap chili powders, an over dressed and flat salad, glutenous potatoes and my wife's raw and cold in the middle salmon sandwich. After vainly attempting to attract anyone's attention, I had to get up and bring the plate back to the wait station where 4 waitresses were standing around talking. I showed the waitress the raw salmon and politely asked If she could just take it off the bill. Her response was which made me feel like I made a mistake. She came back to the table, apologized for the previous raw sandwich, gave us a new salmon sandwich to go and promised to take the food of the bill. Service can be taught to monkeys and can leave a deep impression on any situation good or bad. Hurrying our meal not feeling any comfort in Azul, we paid our 24 dollar ticket and left a generous 4 dollar tip. When the credit card statement came in the mail our waitress decided to write in a larger tip with the total charge being 39 dollars. Go to Dennys at least they get it right.
Pros: The water
Cons: Everything else
