Great vet 2/12/2012

My husband and I have been loyal clients for 4 years. The staff at Averill, from the front desk, to the vet techs to the Dr. themselves have always been very friendly, professional and thorough. Both our dogs are very comfortable visiting their office. Last year, when our dog Frank had a neck injury, Averill cared him for for some time, before transferring him to a specialist for surgery. After Frank returned home, the staff at Averill would call periodically to check on his progress. That meant, and still means alot to me. more

The Dr's and staff at Averill are the best. Soooo friendly and loving toward our pets! I feel very fortunate to have my pet cared for by Averill. more

Awesome Care 2/9/2012

Just wanted to say thanks for the care you all gave Ally for all her 15 years of life. She was the light of our life and had the difficult decision to make. Dr. Nelson tried every treatment but with the age it would only delay the end. He was very caring and explained in a kind way how the process would be. I hope I never have to go through this loss again but having 2 more dogs and 4 cats I suppose I will. Bottom line, I would not use any other - they are the best. more

Our new vet 2/9/2012

Averill Animal Hospital has been a beacon of light in sad pet situations that have occurred in our family recently. Our chihuahua was attacked by a bulldog. They took her as soon as I could bring her in- even though we were new in the area and new clients. They fixed her up and provided all the details needed to keep her healthy- and she's fine! I took our cat to them for a 2nd opinion on some issues she was having, and they made time for her immediately, ran multiple tests, kept me in the loop as soon as they knew anything, and although her story is not as happy, they are making me feel at peace about the decisions I am going to have to make about her. I am so thankful we have found this vet. They are so kind, comforting, and treat you and your pet like family. It makes me feel so good to know we have an honest, dependable place to take our animals (they are absolutely an extension of our family!) thank you Averill employees! more

Best Pet Care 2/9/2012

Abby always gets Excellent Pet Care from this veterinarian and staff. Staff is always pleasant and greet you with a smile. Always remember pet names and sincerely care about pets health and well being. I would highly recommend this business for both pet care and boarding! more

Pricey but well worth every penny. Both Dr. Averill and Dr. Nelson have been nothing short of amazing with my dog. I don't mind spending a little extra because I know he is going to get great care. I would highly encourage anyone to try this vet out. more

We have been loyal clients at Averill Animal Hospital for 24 years and have always been treated wonderfully. We are now on our third dog, this one now is a puppy, and always feel we are in good hands. I would highly recommend the veterinarians any time. All staff is very kind and caring. more

The folks at Averill have been treating our pets since 1988. From the very beginning they took the time to get to know our pets and us. Through all the years, these professionals have cared for our four legged children with genuine compassion. They keep our pets well with timely check-ups and when a health issue does arise they answer all of our questions, offer suggestions, and follow-up treatment. We are VERY satisfied clients. more

Best Vets in Marietta Georgia 2/3/2012

My headline says it all, they are simply the best at what they do. My dogs have been in their care since the early 80's. I credit their long lives to their care, that is as clear as I can put it. The staff is caring and never fail to call me by my name. I would not take my pets any where else. more

Fantastic staff 2/2/2012

The staff at Averill has been taking care of our pets for many years. They are all incredibly caring and compassionate, and seem to love their jobs. Lynette knows all the pets' names and personalities (amazing) and Jimmy is so great at calming the animals (including all of mine) that are stressed out when visiting. Dr. Nelson helped our dog live a long life despite multiple medical issues, even contacting specialists outside the area to assist in evaluating and treating her unusual condition. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. more

Great Trustworthy vet clinic 2/2/2012

I moved to this area 5 years ago, and after having gone to the same vet for 25 years , had to find a new one. I have 6 pets, we tried severl vets the first 1.5 years, and then found Averill. My experience there is always good. The staff is very curteous, friendly and caring. Both Dr. Nelson and Dr Averill are very patient, will answer any question, and be very honest about whats going on. I had a very sick dachshund for 1.5 years, and cannot thank them enough for all the care they gave. They answered my calls with emergent questions, allowed me to drop him off in the mornings before work if he needed to be seen, and always contacted me when they said they would. They ensure that both pets and owners are well cared for. more

Averill Animal Hospital is the Best!!! 1/30/2012

This is the place for service and caring. I have 2 Corgi's and they are treated like Queens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When you leave your pet with them you know they are in good hands. I had lost my job and my dog needed surgery. They were understanding and worked with me to find a solution that was good for me and my dog. I would definitely recommend them. more

Very Caring 1/27/2012

I have three cats (two babies at the time) that were very sick at the same time. My other Vet was unavailable and they took each of them without an appointment. They helped me to bring them all back to good health. Now I have three happy and healthy cats and I transferred all my records to them. Everyone is warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend them. more

Caring animal Hospital 1/27/2012

We love Averill Animal hospital. We have been patients there since last February and everytime we see the doctor we always feel like they have taken their time and really care about our animals health. I feel like we have always received the best service and could not ask for a better place to take our pets. It doesn't hurt that they are so convenienly located near Target and Home Depot. The environment as soon as you walk in the door is so warm and friendly with a few of their ""house"" cats greeting you as you walk in. I would definitely recommend this Animal Hospital. more

Excellent Vet! 1/25/2012

I changed to this vet about 3 years ago and it has been the best thing I could have done for my dog. She gets the level of care I expect for any member of my family. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Averill to my friends. more

Best Vet's in town! 1/23/2012

I've known Dr. Averill for over 25 years and he's one of the finest! He and Dr. Nelson saved the life of my shih tzu Bailey, literally. He had a deadly auto immune disease and the staff and doctors lovingly nursed him back to health. Bailey loves to go visit his extended family and especially enjoys chasing the resident cats. I highly recommend this group of animal lovers who will take care of your babies. more

Trusted with my 'family' 1/22/2012

We've been with Averill for 15 years at least (I've lost track) through the lives of our cherished dogs. When Bo passed away at 16 (9 years ago) we received a warm card thanking us for allowing them to care for him thru the years. They now provide care to our current 3 dogs, to include a 'special needs' dog rescued from NO during Katrina (which they nursed to health and cared for in the year following Katrina before we adopted him). We trust Dr. Nelson and the rest of the staff and recommend them highly. They are not the cheapest, but definitely the best! more

    Averill Animal Hospital strives to obtain a warm and informal atmosphere where the client and their pet(s) feel at home while still providing state of the art diagnostics and treatments. We emphasize a strong relationship with our clients and their pets and really consider them part of our family, making their visit to the practice as comfortable and personal as possible. Through this strong relationship with our patients, we always want the best and most current treatments to be offered, and therefore are continually adding the most current diagnostics and treatments available. We also stress proactive vs. reactive medicine and strive to push the ability to diagnose disease before clinical signs become apparent and prevent infectious disease both for our patients and for the community.
