Automax Framingham

My husband and I put a deposit on an MDX. After waiting 3 1/2 weeks for a title to come in, we went to pick up the car. Thank God we looked at it before signing the papers. There were huge scratches on the windshield, the side had been sideswiped, there were more chips in the paint than I could count and one alloy wheel had scratches and chips on it. The loose door and mirror had also not been fixed as requested. The salesman tried to tell us that this was the condition of the car when we saw it. (He forgot that he inspected the car before and after we test drove it to make sure no scratches or dents where on the vehicle.) He tried to say the the scratches on the windshield were from windshield wipers, however they ran vertical from top to bottom - not horizontal. The salesman got extremely defensive when we asked what happened. He stated ""you are not buying a new car"". We said that was correct but we wanted the car we put the deposit on. The manager said (after much discussion) that the paint, loose door and mirror would be fixed but he was unwilling to fix the windshield. He told us to claim it under our insurance. When we told him that the car was in his possession when this happened and he said ""it won't cost you anything, just claim it on your insurance."" I am a local customer who went to Automax to buy 2008 Audi A6 that I saw advertised in the newspaper. Upon arrival at the Route (9) dealership I saw so many nice cars and really got confused. My salesman Randy test drove about eight cars with me before I fell in love with the Mercedes. Randy was so friendly, helpful, and patient he went over every car with me in detail, showed me each car's service history and introduced me to the service manager at the dealership. I was really impressed with the service facilities at Automax, as it was packed with customers getting state inspections and so forth. I purchased a 2006 Mercedes E350 and I am happy with the decision. I have been driving the car for three months now and everything has been smooth. I have shopped many new and used car dealers in the Boston area and not one of them showed me the kind of respect, patience, courtesy and pricing Randy did at Automax. Found this delaership by driveby on my way to work Rt 9 Framingham, pulled in and immediatley found an unbelielable selection of Japanese cars. I was thinking Honda , Toyota primarily because used Subarus are a lot of money. I spoke with Kevin and really felt comfortable with his approach and honesty. The prices were thousands less than the Subaru dealer and Automax was very accomodating with the service. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new or used car. not sure what others are talking about.. the owner and sales person were honest about the BMW i purchased and very, very helpful. I went back for service.. no problem, very professional and courteous. I have bought before from another dealer and was not happy. So when my friend highly recommended Automax b/c of the quality of cars and sales, service. I even went back with a question and they were so helpful. I also referred 2 other friends who bought a Lexus and an Toyota. like most other places, just looking to make the sale and don't care much about anything else after that. But also, during the warantee period, they did work on my lexus changing the timing belt and a month later my alternator breaks off my engine because it was not secured properly. I'm dissapointed that i had to drop $500 because 1 screw was not tightened, and something tells me changing the timing belt on my IS300 and a loose screw on my alternator that is attached to my water pump (the piece that had to be replaced) might be related. Correct me if I am wrong. more

Painless purchase. Easy to work with. Overall didn't waste time and got the car within a day. Had the car I wanted with low miles. Interior could've been a tad better. Price could've been a little lower as well. I do recommend others to buy from there as the cars are by far in much better condition than most dealerships. Buyer Beware. I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealer and was sold a vehicle with poor brakes. When I first went to test drive the vehicle the brakes were pulsating and when I confronted the salesman Ray with this issue I was assured it would be repaired upon purchase. \r \r I bought the vehicle and reminded the salesman of the needed repairs and was again assured it would be fixed however when I came to pick the vehicle up not only was the saleman (not surprisingly) not there but the brakes were never touched.\r \r \r I am an auto tech by profession and although I can and did repair this myself, I find the dishonest practice of this dealer inexcusable and will never purchase another vehicle from this dealer or reccomend this dealer to anyone Pros: Vehicle selection Cons: Customer service more

I recently went into automax to look a few new to me cars. I havent yet bought one but I have to give Automax some praise. The sales guy I had was extremely helpful. He wasnt pushy and took the time to show me all the cars I was interested in. I will most likely be purchasing my new used car fro automax. I just wanted to send a quick note to share my thoughts about my latest experience with the service department on Thursday April 3rd. I first spoke with Bruce on the phone about a strange noise that I had noticed while driving my car. He was very upbeat and pleasant and scheduled me in for the next day. When I came in the next day Chris took my car for a drive and quickly diagnosed the problem. Both Chris and Bruce were very accomidating and were able to squeeze me in and repair my car that day while I waited. Chris was very informative and thoughtful and made the repairs quickly. I was very impressed with both Bruce and Chris as well as the other friendly and polite employees I also met while waiting. A genuine up-front deal \r By Mike W. \r I'm slow and careful when I'm spending my money on a car because cars are so expensive. I talked to friends and family and a couple mentioned this AutoMax outfit on Rt. 9 in Framingham. I checked them out online and was skeptical because I had bad experiences when buying cars. They made me feel relaxed and their no-haggle prices meant I didn't have to go through that horrible fight over what I had to pay. The cars are all pretty nice, from what I saw, but I didn't look at all their big lot or their place in Marlboro. I got a Pathfinder SE and loved all the comforts on it. They were also quite helpful with my trade value and they shopped around and got me good payments. They even switched my license plates + registration and got my Pathfinder inspected right there. I don't know how come everybody doesn't do it this way. I couldn't believe I could actually feel good and comfortable about buying a car. prices that beat everyone else out there on good cars. didn't look at all of them though. just wanted an economy car because its so far from Lowell to work in Marlboro. Got a deal on a Civic that other dealers didn't want to give me. The price here is the price so I didn't get a headache beating up a salesman in a suit. I got credit here too. And they changed my registration. Nobody else makes it easy when you buy something expensive and I don't know why. Got this at the Marlboro place. They have more at Framingham but I didn't want to drive a lot more. Worth it to drive to both places from a long ways away to get an automatic deal. Should call first to see if car you want is still there because the good ones get sold too fast. I almost missed mine. Glad friends told me about AutoMax. A happy car buying experience! Amazing! No torture! The price is the price so I didn't get home wondering if I really made out. I could see their prices are way lower than the other guys already. Great looking cars-- lots of them. Helpful website that tells a lot about the cars. These cars are used but pretty good and these people work hard to pay attention to them. Like buying anything else: Pick something you like, try it out, buy it. Fast! This is no average car place! They gave me the feeling they wanted me to drive around happy in a better car... and I am! Regular people. Place doesn't look like an expensive palace full of expensive suits I pay for because they're hiding factory rebates from me. Love the Honda with sunroof and alloy wheels and CD and the leather seats heat up! Easy monthly payments they made sure were okay for me. They have two places-- I went to Marlboro near my house first and Framingham next and saw what I wanted. Plenty of cars and vans and SUVs and many others and prices so I knew I would find what I wanted. They check the cars so I know I'll go home okay but bought a super waranty anyways. I drive by them a lot on Rt. 9 near the McDonald's and Ford place near the college and you should stop in and see cars you will like a lot. I don't like the depreciation in a new car but I felt I had to prowl a bunch of new-car dealership back lots to find a decent used one. It was time for a new set of wheels. Anyway, I drove past Automax and didn't think much about it at the time but I did remember the sign on the wall: onlynicecars, which is their website. I did a web search and found quite the inventory. I did more and narrowed my choices and compared prices and found they had over 300 cars in two locations, and several fit into my taste and budget. I went back and got the Acura I settled on at a simple and fair price. They transfered the registration right there and put an inspection sticker on and I drove it away two days after I first drove it. I loved the idea that I didn't have to fight a salesman for a better price; their no-haggle price was really low already, so I felt like I automatically got a deal just walking in. They also shopped my credit around and got me financed cheaper than I thought I could. The Acura's a lease-return, so it was taken care of and was therefore in great shape with not a lot of miles on it. It's smart economic sense to buy used and not new, and AutoMax Preowned is an easy place to get the right car at a price you can enjoy, too. Pros: Wide selection, price, easy sales process, service after the sale. Cons: Had cars I never considered so got a little overwhelmed. more
