My wife and I stopped into AutoMax in Framingham to test drive some cars just before Christmas, with the intention of purchasing 2 new (to us) cars in late January (moving back to the area after living 18 mo. abroad). As the cars were being cleaned from the recent snows, we made an appointment to return to test drive about six specific vehicles two days later.\r

When we returned at about 11am on the Sunday morning, Nick, the gentleman we had met with previously told us we was busy and asked us to look around at the cars on the lot. After 10 minutes of wandering around in the cold looking through car windows, we returned to the office. Now Nick was on the phone, so his colleague told us that waiting 5-10 minutes would be ""the end of the world"". Five minutes later we returned to the office again (steam coming from my ears despite the cold!). Nick approached us, but instead of apologizing for the wait or at least offering some details about the cars we were interested in -- he told us that we'd gotten the wrong idea, and that we couldn't just test drive ""a bunch of cars."" \r

Needless to say, this was the last straw. At a loss for words, my wife mentioned that she didn't feel comfortable and suggested that we should go. To this--amazingly--Nick offered: ""Yes, maybe you should leave.""\r
\r
Wow. Suffice to say I was completely dumbfounded by this entire experience. I currently live in the UK, so I'm accustom to bad service, but this was shocking by any standard. \r

Biting my tongue lest harsher words emerged, all I could retort as we headed to our hire car was: ""Nick, you're a complete idiot, you just threw away a sale for two cars.""
Pros: lots of cars at good prices
Cons: absurdly rude and discourtious staff
