I can't remember how long Rafi has been servicing and fixing my old MBZ 300D (pre turbo) and my fairly new BMW 330I. But both the cars and I were younger when I first drove into Auto Plaza -- which by the way is one of the cleanest businesses I've ever seen -- and the cars are running perfectly. \r \r The mechanics who work with Rafi do an excellent job. I assume this because I have never had to have any work done twice. It's almost beyond belief today that anyone gets it right the first time, but the mechanics must know what they're doing. \r \r I feel fortunate if there is a handful of people and businesses I trust. Or that I don't distrust. I've never felt nervous or suspicious when I talk to Rafi -- I trust what he's telling me is true. I trust his price is fair, which I couldn't always say when I had my BMW serviced at the dealer.\r \r This is just my opinion, but I don't believe Rafi does what he does JUST to make a buck. I hope he makes a nice living for his wife and kids, but I think a larger reason he does what he does is that he loves it. He loves working on cars. He completely rebuilt the automatic transmission in my 300D and told me he enjoyed doing it. I wouldn't take a car to anyone else. more

What is there to say? It's the only place I would ever want to service my car. Rafi provides a level of personal service and honesty not found at any dealer, and I walk away happy every time. Especially as a woman, I find it comforting that he explains what needs to be done and goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is priced fairly. As a local, it also reassures me that Rafi has been involved in making Studio City a better place. He's got roots in our little town, and it shows, not only in his level of service - which is speedy and excellent - but also by how many of his customers have come to be his friends. I have recommended him time and time again, and will continue to do so. more

Rafi has taken good care of both our BMWs for 5 years. The X5 has always leaked and used oil. The BMW dealer was not able to fix the problem and assured us the oil consumption was normal. Last year Rafi replaced the X5 engine seals. Since then the oil leaks have stopped and consumption is nearly zero. Aside from being a great mechanic, Rafi is very willing to figure out a way to solve maintenance problems within our budget. We highly recommend him. more

I have been a customer of Auto Plaza for more years than I can remember (at least 10?). In this car-centric town, it is essential to have a mechanic you can trust. Rafi ALWAYS does an excellent, thorough job in a timely fashion. He explains everything and distinguishes the essential from the ""wish-list"". As anyone with an aging BMW, Mercedes Benz, or Volvo knows, ongoing care is required to maintain your vehicle and repair costs can get pricey. I have a 10 yr old BMW Z3 and about 5 years ago I had finally had it with the various BMW dealerships in the LA area. I always felt in the dark when it came to my vehicle. The appointments were never available immediately (like when your car actually has a problem), and the techs invariably found additional ""mandatory repairs"" every time I brought the car in for an oil change, so I tried a few independent mechanics. Then I found Auto Plaza Radford Ave. Rafi is knowledgeable and professional; kind and conscious of all the concerns one has about bringing in a car in for servicing. He knows that there is a difference between a repair that must be done, and something that might come up in 10,000 miles, and will talk you through the most economical options. He's always patient and knows that listening will help put you at ease, as well as help him diagnose the problem. As a long standing member of the community, Rafi treats all his customers like they're friends - you walk away feeling like you got that ""friend price"" but you know the work is being done by a highly trained professional. EVERYTHING is above board. Rafi actually likes to show you the damaged or worn out part, so that you feel confident that that specific part really needs to be replaced. All the parts are genuine factory parts and are guaranteed, as is the labor - thought it's never been an issue as the work is done right the first time. In the 5 years that I've been going to Auto Plaza, I have never felt condescend to, up-sold, or ripped off. I've gotten to know Rafi and José (one of the mechanics) and finally feel good about my total service experience. I recently bought new wiper blades and bulbs for my headlights and being mechanically challenged I couldn't even figure out the simple installation, so I swung by the shop and the guys helped me out in 5 minutes at no charge. I have been taking my BMW to Auto Plaza Radford Ave for almost ten years now. This is my second BMW, both which I have owned for over 25 years. Rafi is a true professional and explains everything in detail, sometimes too much so. The shop is always clean and tidy which is always a good sign. The mechanics have been there a long time and by now, have intimate knowledge of my wheels. Rafi also understands what needs to be donenow and what can wait, which always helps my wallet. Recently I purchased a car from an individual who had work done here on the rear end. Knowing I was taking the car out of state as soon as the repairs were done, an incomplete job was done in my opinion. The rear end is still WAY out of alignment. It has an adjusting bolt that is bent & a boot on the new axle is torn. I tried talking to the mechanic about it but he told me that since he did not contract the work with me, he had no obligation to me. BEWARE of poor work & unethical business practices! more
