Auto Doctor

Okay I am given Ron and his staff at the Auto Doctor a World Class rating. Several reasons I have been there more then one time and the four or five times I have used this service center I have gotten just what I have expected from people who want to repair and service cars to repeat customers. They do the best they can. I have taken three cars in two years and have spent a good deal of money there and have been fully satisfied with each of these exchanges. Diagnosis is five for five and the work has been solid. The second to last time I used them I had spent two days being run around by a dealership. I had a tow truck driver tell me you can just leave your car locked up outside the Autor Doctor and just put the key in the mail slot with a note and phone number. This fact made the reason I left the car at the dealership in the first place, pointless. The next day, no run around, Ron just called with a diagnosis and cost of repair by ten in the morning. The timing belt in our Kia broke and trashed the engine. Unfortunately we had AAA insurance so the tow truck took us to the Auto Doctor in Chico. After looking at the car they told us we needed to have the engine completely rebuilt and it was going to cost $4,200. They told us the engine would be fixed in a week. A week later we still hadn't heard from them. When we called they told us it would be another week. This was the case for a month. They never called and the receptionist/office manager Lisa was very rude. Less than a year later the car started having engine problems again. When we called the Auto Doctor back they said even though the car was within the time of the warranty it was a little over the mileage part and they would not fix it. We had to pay another mechanic to fix it. Now 3 months later more engine problems. Our reliable mechanic told us that the Auto Doctor took advantage of us because we could have bought a new engine to replace the old one for $1,500 and that the more

Auto Doctor has been fixing our familys cars for years and I dont trust anyone but Ron to work on them. Always shoots me straight no bull. clean shop friendly and there top tech has a degree in electronics, so they fix the tough stuff for computers and so forth. I reccomend Auto Doctor to everyone. more

Auto Doctor was recommended by a friend who does their computer work. I made an appointment to check out my A/C. First impression: clean, tidy, very professional. The service writer took my info and assigned the A/C man to the job. I observed the general action of the shop and was impressed. They do windows! Waiting area and restrooms clean, as were all the mechanics. Nice customers who all talked up the place. Soon I was on my way with cool air in HOT July Chico. I recommend this shop to everyone. more

Auto Doctor is the best!!! I dont trust anyone else with my familys vehicles. Ron is always on my side and he makes me feel comfortable, I trust him. Reccomend everyone I know to him. You can be sure your getting a fair shake. Love the loaner cars too!!\r Oh yeah and my windows are always clean when I leave ....its the little things..\r \r The negative reviews on here only prove that no matter what you do you can't make everyone happy... I am shocked that there is even one bad review of Auto Doctor!! I have been going to Auto Doctor for years and I have been nothing but impressed with not only the quality of the work but also the great customer service! Ron and Lisa are always friendly and take extra time to answer any questions I have. I have sent so many of my firends and family to Auto Doctor and have heard nothing but rave reviews. They take such good care of their customers! You can tell right away that Ron is very honest. He always takes time to show me the old parts and even explains how they work. I recently took my car to auto doctor and had some repairs done, Ron was very talkative and responsive to my request for preventative maintenance on the car. When we went to pay for the repairs it was a whole different story, I thought they were borderline rude and felt like my business was not welcome. The secretary made me feel like I was at a fast food restaurant, and Ron did not even acknowledge I was there. Ron also said old parts would be returned, they were not; and I was shuffled out so fast I did not get to check the trunk to see if they were there.\r \r I had no problems with the repairs, I thought the cost was a bit high. My problem was with the service, or lack of, a simple "thanks for the business" would of made things a bit better.\r \r Based on my experience I would not recommend this shop to anyone. more

Had a smog test there and the service was fine. Had college daughter take car in for brake noise. They could not give an estimate of any costs ahead of time. Called me and said there was nothing wrong. Test drove it again and said it needed new brake pads, routers, etc. and said cost was $660 to $1000!!!!!!!!! Took the car to Redding and had the work done for under $300. Ripping off students in Chico-that is what the Auto Doctor is doing. more

Auto Doctor has been servicing my vehicles for many years now. Ron has always been very honest regarding recommendations, and is competitive in pricing service and repairs. Beyond that Auto Doctors employees are professional, and knowledgeable. The shop is always kept clean and they also arrange transportation to my work or home which is a huge help. I have referred family and friends to this shop and they also are very happy to have found such a nice group to do business with. They are the best! more

I had my car into the auto doctor some time ago and feel I was takin advantage of. Not only were they not fair on the price, it took me several trips to get my car repaired right. I took my vehcile to a friend of mine and was told half the parts they installed were not neccessory and cost me a lot of money I didnt have. I would not reccommend this shop to anyone !!!! more

I took my jeep in to Auto Doctor because it was over heating. I was told the radiator needed to be replaced and i got the work done, I asked for the radiator back and took it to another mechanic they could find no major defects. a week later i had the same problem. I brought my jeep back to Auto Doctor and was charged an additional 60 dollars for them too check it out again. this time i was told it was the fan module witch i believe was the original problem. They told me the part was on backorder and it could take several weeks to come in. SO i took it to another mechanic and they found the part right away. I believe Auto doctor took advantage of me and was very unprofessional. more

I have been going to Ron at Auto Doctor for at least 13 years. I have referred all family members and my employeed to Ron. Outstanding service!!! Very, very professional. Provide shuttle service. Always explain everything so even my mom could understand. Everyone I've sent to Auto Doctor has thanked for me connecting them with such a great outfit. When I've question costs, they've always explained "the why" - other service companies were providing remanufactured parts, versus their use of new part. Ron gave me the option of either, which meant that they beat all competitor pricing in the end. more

I came here because I am a AAA member and it is a AAA facility. They diagnosed the problem of my vehicle which was the alternator and replaced it quickly. more

We had a car with cronic problems until coming to this shop. The staff was great! Very knowledgable and friendly. As a women I am always scepitcal of what a mechanic tells me thinking that they are just overcharging me, but with this shop I felt like I was getting an honest deal. They also offer a AAA discount which was a nice bonus. more
