What can be said about Aurelio's in homewood? Nothing positive, that's for sure. Pros: None Cons: Horrible food, worse service, disgusting, expensive

When you have pizza at Aurelio's, you feel like you have had a satisfying meal, unlike some pizzas that are primarily bread with a little tomato sauce and cheese/meat on top. At Aurelio's, the chef is very generous with the toppings and the crust is a step above any crust you would get at any other restaurant. In addition to the location in Chicago, we also have an Aurelio's in Naples, Florida. The best pizza in Naples as well as Chicago. Pros: good parking, good service, friendly atmosphere more

The crispy crust, various selection of cheeses placed on top and perfect cooking makes this number one in my book. Having followed this chain from the southside to the northwest burbs makes it all worthwhile. I only wish there was a closer location. more

Crispy crust, lots of oregano in sauce. This place is great for a family dinner or a night out with friends. I moved away from Chicago and it's the first place I go when I'm in town. Pros: good parking, very tasty pizza, crispy crust more

Aurelio's Pizza has always been the best thin crust pizza around. I grew up in Homewood, and as kids we looked forward to visiting the original Aurelio's storefront location on Ridge Road. When they moved to their current location, nothing changed. I've visited several other Aurelio's locations, and although they are ok, still nothing compares to a great sausage and ham thin crust pizza from the Homewood location. Being a "city girl" now, whenever I visit Homewood, I try to stop by Aurelio's. The service is great too! more

All I can say is AWESOME PIZZA!!!! There is so much competition in Chicago for good pizza and I was lucky to find the best. We will continue to order from them and I suggest if you haven't tried Aurelio's to make the stop!! more

After living in over 30 states, and sampling pizza from NYC to NJ to FL to CA, nothing compares. The best sauce and spicy meats make their thin crust pizza just as good cold as warm. As a former Hazel Crest resident from the 60's and retired Air Force member who has lived all over the world, Joe makes the best damn pizza on earth! I love the weather in Newort News but I miss three things about Chicago. Joe sent us!! 7/26/2002

Joe, the late founder of Aurelio's, started this medium-sized chain in 1959. It is the standard against which all other pizzas are to be measured. We love it, and held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Aurelio's (South Holland) in 1979. It continues to be a highlight of family celebrations. The thin crust, especially, is out of this world. Ingredients are generous and of very high quality. Never a disappointment, kudos to all the cooks. more

Pizza to Travel the Country For! 7/17/2002

Aurelio's Pizza in Homewood is by far the BEST pizza place anywhere. I have traveled many places in the U.S. and I beleive that I am a "connisour" of great pizza... And this pizza is worth every penny and more. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and we used to go eat at Aurelio's at least once a month while I was growing up. Our family moved to Wisconsin, and still, everytime we'd go back for a visit, we will go out of our way to eat there. We now live in Alabama, and still travel the country to visit relatives in Wis. but we go out of our way just to go to Aurelio's! The atmosphere, the pizza, everything about the restaurant is great... (My mouth is watering now...!) Pros: The BEST Pizza!, Good service, Great selections Cons: Sometimes waiting... more
