Aura Laser Skin Care

I purchased a coupon at Aura Laser in Kirkland. It was for Three IPL fotofacials and three microdermabrasions.\r \r Trying to book an appointment is consistently a challenge - extremely limited times open, and RUDE people booking the appointments.\r \r After FINALLY getting an appointment, I was consistently met with rude, disinterested staff. \r \r The last time I was in the ""technician"" told me she would 'push extra hard' on the IPL equipment to make sure the IPL worked. This is unreal - she hurt my face and any idiot knows pushing an IPL device HARD has no connectivity at all to results.\r \r The treatments do nothing at all. I've had similar treatments from NW Face (which were divine!). I mentioned to the technician (who insisted on pushing super hard on the equipment) that I wasn't seeing any result and had, in fact, great results at NW Face. Her response was that they saw lots of people from NW Face with burns from their equipment. I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!\r \r I opted to reach out to Groupon for a refund and I'm not using the rest of my sessions. Total waste of time.\r \r I would not recommend this place to anyone. more

After purchasing a coupon on Groupon-Aura Laser Skin Care-“Three IPL fotofacials and three microdermabrasions,” I called and made an appointment with Aura Laser Skin Care for IPL. Finally, almost after a month waiting (coupon good for 3 months only), I was delighted to do my Fotofacial. To my surprise, after filling out all the paperwork and waiting for an additional 30 minutes in the waiting room and 10 minutes in the technician’s office, they refused services because I did not have a doctor’s permission note. Groupon did not mention anything regarding a doctor release note. The permission note was not indicated in the company website or at the time when I made an appointment or when filling out paperwork (no disclosure whatsoever). The Aura technician offered to do microdermabrasion instead of IPL. I have had microdermabrasion done before and it did absolutely nothing for my skin and also it’s a fairly inexpensive procedure. After my experience with Aura, I called several clinics in the Seattle area and inquired about my medical condition and if I would need a doctor note. They all said NO, I would not need a note because they all had doctors that are competent in what they do. I guess Aura does not have a competent doctor?! Beware before you do any procedures in Aura Laser Skin Care or before buying any deal for this company on Groupon or any other sources. In my opinion, Aura Laser Skin Care is unethical, and they are using Bait and Switch practices. Groupon has agreed to refund my money. My negative experience is with management, not the staff or service that I've received. MATTHEA was the sales manager that I dealt with for over a month who was not honest with me and when I wanted a refund on an unused pre-paid service of $500. It's been over a month and after calling her over and over for over (half the time she was available), I still have not received a refund up to this day. When I was able to reach her, she would give me excuse after excuse on the status of the refund and then would blame others without having any integrity of following through on her word.\r \r Folks, something financially dysfunctional is happening at the back end of the company and I just want to warn anyone who spends money here to be very cautious. Red flags go up when it takes a business over a month and still not refund you. \r \r If this happens to you, call your bank and the Better Business Bureau as I did.\r \r If the situation with MATTHEA didn't happen, I would actually give this place 4 stars because of the front desk service and the aesthetician who was really helpful and nice. more

Love these guys. Just purchased their groupon for laser hair removal for my legs. This is my third groupon with Aura. They are very consistent and caring.  I tried a couple of other medical spas with groupon before and neither compares to them. I recently started my Bikini laser hair remvoal sessions again, because of some incompetent technicians i had seen at other clinics! I had 4 treatments elsewhere and all with minimal results. Aura Laser Skin Care was referred by my friend who sees the medical esthetician there. I decided to go and see what they have to offer. I felt very comfortabel the clinic is immaculate. The medical esthetician is very knowledgeable, with 18 years experience in clinical skin care. I wasn't aware that all lasers are not created the same and old vs new makes a huge diff in the results??? I have had two sessions with great success and their prices are unbeatable. I am very happy with my results and am now cosidering booking a Botox and a day of spa and beauty with my girlfriends!! Pros: unmatched prices more

I had an unpleasant experience with this place when I purchased a groupon. When I was there for my 4th visit, the tech and I were the only ones in the place, and she was confused about the area being treated. Then when we cleared that up, she said she couldn't do the area that had been being treated THREE times before or she would be fired. She was already running 20 minutes behind, and I had to get back to work, so I left. I emailed the manager, who said that her employee told her that I had ""thrown things and threatened her"" and I was not allowed to come back. ?? This is a bizarre place. I'm sure the fact that I was a groupon customer caused this. They SAVED money if they gave a reason to ban me. BEWARE. more

I received a gift card for $200 for Christmas from my aunt who has been going to Aura Laser for months. I applied the card towards a package of laser hair removal for my chin area. I already had my first treatment there and there is nothing negative to be said about this place. It is very clean and tidy. The staff is professional, and the tech was good and knew her stuff. As far as the treatment is was virtually painless. It is too early to comment about the outcome of my hair removal treatment since I just started. My aunt however did her legs and she is very satisfied with the results. I recommend this place to everyone looking for professional laser hair removal. Lynn more

This place is by far the most unprofessional skin care salon I have ever been too! The manager Katy is an absolute hot mess and poor excuse for the title of manager. When I complained of the absolute crap customer service, she ripped up my apt. card and told me she has reserved the right to refuse service to me. I still have three already paid for lasers left. It is to bad because Dr Garcia is a great guy but I'm certain Katy will run this place into the ground. Who you choose to employ makes all the difference in the world. It was truly a blessing in the end. I really dreaded the days I had an apt. I always felt like I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than to deal with them and the energy that filled the place! more

I’ve been to a number of spa’s in the Seattle and east side areas, but none that compare to Aura Laser Skin Care in a variety of ways. I just purchased the groupon they have for the 3 ipl and 3 microderms. I first started going to them back in december of last year and have been ever since. Their facility is very clean and staff is professional and capable. They also care about their clients and do not rush through the treatments or force a sale. One particular example that comes to mind is the fotofacial treatment, which I had last year helped my skin tremendously. The sun spots on my face were reduced and bacame hardly noticeable and my skin looked and felt younger.\r In addition, it’s important to me to not only trust the spa staff who perform the treatments, but to feel very comfortable in my surroundings. The technicians at Aura not only put your mind at ease, but they also go to great lengths in answering all of your questions and concerns. They are very knowledeable and they share that knowledge with the customer. The spa is a very welcoming place very clean, tidy and nicely decorated. \r Dr. Garcia, their medical director, is always available on site to answer any questions or address any concerns I have. He spent a great deal of time with me on my first visit, offering expert knowledge on everything offered at his spa. Further, he’s a very pleasant man that has your best interest at heart. He and his staff are proactive, inasmuch as they share necessary information with you and ensure your understanding, with regard to your treatments and services. I personally felt the spa made me, the client, a top priority and I, without reservation, give Aura Laser Skin Care an A+ rating for their customer service and outcome.\r Helena more

This is the 3rd laser hair removal groupon I am purchasing with Aura Laser Skin Care. The first one I did my legs, and second my face and arm pitts. While purchasing today's Groupon I read the negative review by Kelley C. and felt the urge to defend these guys. Not sure what experience Kelley had but suffice it to say that my experience with Aura was nothing but pleasant from being greeted by the receptionist to being treated by the techs. The hair on my legs and face is almost gone that I am now purchasing 8 treatments for my Bikini area. Just wanted to comment on my experience with Aura. \r \r Julia D. more

Wow...saw this on Groupon a thought my wife would like. Started researching and it appears to be a scam. If you look at the reviews, noboby has reviewed much other than Aura Laser and Harrington Moving (in NJ...strange so many reviewers of Aura have moved from NJ. Almost defies the odds....). Needless to say, I decided against the Groupon. I have absolutely no personal experience with them, but a little research made me want to stay far, far away.\r \r Just went to InsiderPages and found the same exact situation. Most reviewers only review Aura (and again completely defying the odds, Harrington Moving in NJ. How can a person have a local move in NJ and at the same time have several treatments in Bothell????). Long story short...decide for yourself, but they are manipulating their review ratings.... more

**UPDATE below: Threatened to remove review**\r \r DONT BUY their Groupons for Laser Hair removal....there is a reason they keep selling them thru Groupon...mass fast cash, and nothing for it. These guys have done these Groupons 3 times in just over a year, talk about a cash grab...,and this time they are increasing their 6 sessions to 8....hmmmm, looking for more quick cash from unsuspecting.\r \r The Laser they use does nothing...the laser itself isnt that great (check reviews), thats why they say for any skin type...but on top of that I dont think they are changing the tips. I bought 2 - SIX session packages for them...that is 12 sessions for my legs...guess what...nothing has changed! I have had the pleaseure of going there for over 1.5 years.\r \r I am not a virgin to laser hair removal...and I have the perfect skin type for it. Had my bikini done a few years ago, better laser, Better place...bikini free and clear. Today was my first day into this clinic. I was greeted by a very enthusiastic front desk. although she seemed very busy she never made me feel like i was enconviencing her by asking questions. i was really nervous because it was my first time doing an photofacial. She simply put the calls on hold and let me know she would be able to answer my questions shortly. after about two minutes she directed her focus on me. All of my questions were answered and my service was amazing. My opinion of this clinic is a five star for customer service, a sterile environment and a staff that seems very educated with skin. more

Aura Laser Skin Care is the cleanest, most professional, and fairly priced laser facility in Seattle. I am someone who, for my whole life, have been waxing and shaving, dealing with my hairy body. My light skin, and dark hair, made every strand of hair on my body extra noticeable. It is something I have always been embarrassed about, but always had no choice but to deal with it. I heard about Aura Laser Skin Care through a colleague at work, who told me that they were very clean and their laser machines work wonders. I called, and was provided with a free consultation. I learned a lot about my skin, and learned that by shaving for the past 18 years, I have actually thickened the hair on my body, thus making me hairier. The laser worked amazingly well. I was so happy with the results. The Aura Laser esthetician was really gentle, and stopped when I showed any sign of discomfort. I have done five treatments so far, and my hair is much more sparse and growth is slowing down. It is an amazing feeling, not having to worry about shaving. My skin feels smooth as silk. This is the pace to go for your hair removal needs. I am sending my husband to get hos back treated for sure. more

I had a very red complexion that made me look like I was always either permanently sun burned or always ‘after an intense workout’. At the consultation, Jessica told me that with a series of FotoFacial treatments my skin would clear up and the redness will be reduced. I did one treatment of Microdermabrasion in another Seattle clinic. I was very unhappy with the results because I felt that I was ripped off and that there was only a very subtle difference in my skin. I was looking for drastic results, low prices, and extremely professional service, and so I switched to Aura Laser Skin Care to continue my Microdermabrasion treatment. I am so happy I did! At my consultation, I learned that the prior clinic did not put the Microdermabrasion pressure on a setting right for my skin. As a result, it did not work very well. When I did the same treatment at Aura Laser Skin Care, I saw results immediately! They did a wonderful job, way better than my old skin care facility. I am so happy I chose them!
