Atlas Towing Service

I would just like to take a moment and voice my disappointment with my recent experience with ATLAS TOWING / TRANSPORT. I contacted Dan the owner directly on December 13, 2013 needing a semi container moved from Hudson, Fl. to San Antonio, Fl. I had 6 different days ""scheduled"" over a 2 week period with his company and was not contacted all day after numerous text and phone calls to both him and his driver Carlos on each of those occasions. I continuously received excuses from both of them, putting me off at the end of each day for 8-9 am the next morning. Dan assured me that he was an honest business man and on 12/27/13 at 1217 hours his last text stated; "" I'm always honest , and sincerely thought this was handled , also I was very forth coming of my position and had to go a little bit out of the box to get this handled and one way or another that box will be moves by the weekend . Very sorry."" I proceeded to believe him and gave the benefit of the doubt, I called and text both him and Carlos several more times over the weekend to no avail. The last response I received from Carlos was; "" Hey good morning run late this morning have to drop off my son I call you when on the way."" He has not called me or text me since that message. Nor did Dan move it by the weekend.\r My recent experience with Atlas was unprofessional and dishonest. I went with the company due to my past experience with their drivers. You see, my husband and myself both worked for a Sheriff's Office (over 20 years combined service) and for many years we used Atlas as our call out tow company. I knew this was a big job, and Dan explained that from the beginning. I knew I would be paying more but I felt his company was the best one for the job. I certainly was mistaken. I will not recommend Atlas to anyone and will be passing on my experience with others. more

Fantastic experience, the tow truck driver, was polite, and furthermore, he was friendly. I will not use any company other than this one if i can help it. It was an unfortunate situation for me but i couldn't have been happier with my service. My driver was on-time, and very helpful. He wasn't there to just "" do a job"" he was there to help, and he did just that. He literally had a smile on his face. I had my 11 year old son with me and he was very nice and polite to him as well. I am very impressed with this tow truck driver. I've unfortunately had to use a a tow truck service many times in my life, but this was by far the best experience. Not sure of price, my insurance paid it. I will be calling Atlas directly to make sure i tell them what a great job he did. more

I have used Atlas Towing Services quite a few times for the entire family. The first time they won my loyalty, by asking me if I was in a safe location, the driver was there in record time with a smile on his face in the pouring rain. How great was that! Very professional and has always helped me in any way possible. more

I contacted Atlas Towing for a simple extraction of a light pickup truck that was stuck about 8' from the side of a basin of a dried up lake. I was told by the dispatcher that simple extractions start out at $100 and that I would be provided a more accurate quote upon arrival. Although they showed up quickly, the wrecker responded with another customers vehicle on the back of the tow truck. I needed a simple extraction but because the driver had to unload the Mustang on the back of the truck to properly used the winch I was charged an additional $65 dollars for the removal. The driver incompetently destroyed landscaping after overlooking that his equipment was secure and off of the ground before driving away leaving me responsible for the damage to the grass. I contacted the woman at dispatch claiming to be the owner who after I explained what happened immediately began cursing at me when in fact she had not seen the damage her driver had actually done. I have detailed photos of the entire incident to backup my story. I've never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally before in my life. These people are thieves with predatory business practices. I have used this towing service several times since 2006. They towed me all the way from St. Pete to Wesley Chapel once. Another time from Tampa late at night when I had engine trouble. They have moved RV's for me on 3 occasions. The motor home is 26,000 lbs. and has been place you would think they could not get in and get it out but they did. This morning they picked up my car after I broke down about a mile or 2 away from home. They were very good, on time, and only charged me a hookup fee. To get the car delivered to my house. Dispatcher woman was rude and impatient. Driver went to wrong address. When he finally located me, after 3 tries and 2 hours later. He could not figure out how to hook up my vehicle to pull out of an embankment. He kept trying different ways that failed to work and ended up damaging my bumper in the process. He needed assistance and had the nerve to say I had to pay more than what was quote. Almost double! Of course, I refused to do. He ultimately called into the rude dispatch woman to ask what to do (I could hear the conversation due to his phone's speaker turned on) She yelled at him for losing money and was dropping F bombs. She was absolutely brutal! I could not believe my ears. I had to call a different tow service who located me within 30 minutes and used a cloth strap necessary to pull a car sideways. He got my vehicle out within 10 minutes of arrival and only charged my $60.00. Pros: None Cons: Unreliable and poor customer service. more

I didn't know what was wrong with my car. I called them in advance and told them my situation. They told me how much they charge per hour... $30 or $35 (don't remember) which is reasonable comparied to others. When I showed up, and knowing my situation they went above and beyond to get the main vaccume hose fixed which ment 2 person job, lifing the manifold and reaching in small spaces. They fixed it with a friendly attitude and only charged me 1 hour when it took more like and hour and a half. And while I was there, a man broke down just a block away and had AAA, used their phone, but AAA wanted to dispach a company much further away and would take 2 hours to get there. He told AAA he was at Atlas Towing and they sill wouldn't dispatch them. So, one of the ladies got on the phone and talked with AAA and convinced them to dispach it to them. The truck brought back the mans car in just a couple of minutes. PROS: They go out of their way to help :) CONS: more
