Assaf Aveda Salon

A friend recomended Assaf Aveda Salon and when I arrived what a surprise a hair stailist I new was working there, I was happy with the place, it is clean and bright. The service was great Jorge was professional and friendly as always. I got great highliths!! The Aveda products which are organic are fantastic. I would definitely recomend Assaf salon and Jorge more

Assaf Salon is GREAT, every time I come it's been a good experience. I'm reading the reviews and seems like GROUPON people are the only one's complaining. Upsets to see such an accomplished stylist give away his talent to the people who don't appreciate it. more

George was fabulous! He gave me gorgeous highlights and a very stylish cut. He was obviously very skilled and experienced, and the Aveda products he used are the best! more

HIGHLY disappointed with the customer service and the quality of this salon. At first when you enter, everyone is SO sweet to you! But, lets say if you're not happy with your cut, or your not satisfied, the tone and attitude completely changes. This is especially true of Assaf, the owner, and his sister Tami. No one really listens to how you want your hair styled. I went in for a Brazilian blowout and after showering the next day, my hair was back to curly! Called the salon and explained the situation to them and was informed that its normal for curly hair and that usually a second blowout will make it straight... I was never told this the first time around! So in order for my hair to look like I was told they would, I would need to pay another $200 for the second blowout! Ridiculous! I'm so upset spending so much money for my hair to look exactly as it did when I entered the place. Please save your time and money and go somewhere you'll be satisfied!!! more

I first went to this salon as a full price paying customer. Had a great blowdry so I was excited to see them on Groupon (over and over again). I went ahead and booked a haircut, damage remedy treatment and blow dry. Neverless my hair cute is horrid. Cut way to short. It's drie then ever. And my curls are fried. I will be calling groupon to get my money back from the other coupons I bought.. more

From the moment I entered I loved this place...it is a clean and very professional salon. The atmosphere is very comfortable; a beautiful tastefully designed place. Everyone is very nice and very professional, my hair never looked better! You are greeted with a warm welcoming smile, they make you feel special from start to finish. I had a great experience; now that I found Assaf Salon I wouldn't go anywhere else. Love it and I highly recommend it. more

I told my dear friend Laura Castro and Tita Rojas about this place. Aveda concept, amazing natural products,excellent customer service.The owner and stylist are proffesional .Besides you can find people from the jet set of caracas/peru/argentina/mexico/israel.These isthe place where local politicians get there cut,you can find the future president of Venezuela there now and then. Assaf Salon claims they are 100% Aveda Concept Salon, then someone needs to explain why they use cheap products from Sally Beauty Supply on our hair and charge us an outrageous prices? I went to the salon a couple of times and was very disappointed with the service and the products. I asked them several times to make sure they use 100% Aveda color because I 've been using Aveda for a while and I don't have any allergic reactions to the color or shampoos. So after visiting Assaf Salon I noticed that their backbar barely has any Aveda color, all I saw was cheap Salon Care stuff from Sally's that any of us can buy and do at home for under $20. So why do we pay over $200 for it at this Salon? I also got a Keratin treatment and was told it's a natural formula and has no damage. Yeah, sure thing..... I saw the bottle of the Keratin treatment they use and of course it was from Sally's which cost $19.99 for a bottle and the treatment at the salon cost me $175. This place is absolutely a fraud and a ripoff I would ADVISE everyone not to step foot in that place. Besides the color problem Salon is very filthy and has roaches, color bowls look like they have never been cleaned, stations are dusty and have so much hair everywhere, when you walk in in the Salon you can see how dirty and dusty the floors are and the receptionist area is very unorganized, the front desk person has no clue about Aveda products and tried to sell me a clarifying shampoo when I said I need something for dry hair , and after I 've told her it's probably not a good shampoo for me she still tried to push the sale. UNREAL!!! The atmosphere in the salon is very uncomfortable as Assaf himself humping the employees in front of the customers, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Everyone in the Salon has an attitude and ricks of cigarette smoke like an ashtray, I was disgusted to have anyone in there touching my hair. I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! more

i went there last week to get my hair done for new years eve, they place was packed with people,i mean extremely busy, but never the less they they treat me ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. the girl in the front desk was so kind and really nice, assaf was so professional and i can honestly say that he is the best hairdresser i've had in my life, and all of the staff are just warm nice people. i honestly didnt want to leave! im definitely going to come back, no questions about that! more

I purchased 2 vouchers from Groupon and I had issues with them. it was 2 for a hair salon, and they called me to cancel both appointments because I had the Groupon vouchers. I made the appointment on Dec 10th for Dec 23rd and they called me on Saturday Dec 17th to cancel saying all stylist went out on Vacation. Hard to believe a hair salon has all the stylist out on vacation on the weekend of Christmas? when most of the ladies do their hair? It amazes me that the first thing they ask you is if you have a Groupon certificate, if you say no, then suddenly they do have stylist. Groupon needs to choose carefully the businesses that are being promoted. I was finally able to get an appointment with Assaf for Dec 27th after calling so many times, however, it was very upsetting how they handled it. Im not going to lie, but what we received for it was not so great, mine said it was a Damage Remedy treatment, and they just washed my hair normally. Shampoo and conditioner, and the blow dry was horrendous. The girl hardly blow dried my hair leaving it frizzy and passing the flat iron with my hair still wet, burning it so much. The haircut was not a haircut, the girl hardy even cut my ends. I had to come home and redo it all myself. And my daughter used the one with the keratin express treatment, and her hair is worse than what it was before. I have no clue what they used on her, all I know is that she has curly hair and ended up after with frizzy super curly hair, its like burned. Her hair is like burned, hard to make it flat with the iron now. Never again will I set foot at that place or let alone recommend it. PS: They make you pay 20% tip of the regular price.!!! more

I bought a groupon and when I called the salon I was advised that Assaf would not accept the Groupon and that I had to get my hair cut with someone else. I felt uncomfortable because when I read all the reviews they do not talk about the different stylists and their abilities. So I found that odd and wondered if the reviews were being written by the staff. I called Assaf myself and he told me that he does not take Groupon that if I wanted to get my hair cut with him it would be $75.00 for the cut, $55.00 for the color and so on. I called Groupon to complain because there is no disclosure that the owner would not provide the service so I got my money back with an apology that stated that they had contacted Assaf and that he will honor the Groupons from now on. Here's the catch..."".IF HE HAS THE TIME."" SO BEWARE, LADIES!. The salon is fine, nothing fancy, not comfty, etc. If you are to pay regular prices, do not expect perks, or special treatment, they do what they have to do and that's it. It was a little disorganized even though it was pretty empty the day I went. After a stressful beginning, Assaf colored my roots and gave me a great haircut. Sat there a long time with color on my hair while he took care of one of his regular clients that came in for partial highlights and I had to remind him that the color was in my hair over an hour, while he stated it would only be 35 mins. I ended up paying $110,00 because I used the discount coupon on his website. Not cheap place but he did do a great job and am very happy with my hair. He knows his business, seems shy, and is not very talkative. When he finished blowing my hair, went to the desk gave me bill, I paid and he just walked outside to smoke a cigarette. He did not even ask if I liked the cut. Not a cushy feeling, it was very impersonal. My daughter got her hair cut with someone else who did not have great experience and it turned out fine, not the best cut she ever had but not bad either. The girl was really nice and accommodating, though. This is a good salon for you to come in get what you want done and go. This is not a luxurious salon where you come in to relax, unwind, bond and be pampered. Prices can be steep without any discounts. When you book your appointment ask a lot of questions so you do not start out as frustrated and disappointed as I was. I recommend that you get your hair done with Assaf though, he is a very good colorist and hair dresser. I will return again but now with the right expectations to go in, get what I need done and go. I am giving them 4 stars because Assaf is a great hair stylist! more

This place is just great. I love the aveda line they use, and the service is very nice. Don't know what the other reviewer is talking about, but for me, it was great. The staff was great, perfectly friendly, took me on time, and were very attentive. They offered me an herbal tea, and gave me an awesome hand and scalp massage. I loved it, I am going back for a keratin treatment next week. The price was great, and most importantly, i looked AMAZING when i left! It's really hard for me to trust my hair to a new stylist, but Im so glad I did. This place is great, and is definitely one of my new go-to salons! more

I went to visit the salon last week and OMG I was highly dissapointed. I had an appointment with Assaf, except he was ""busy"" ( no one was in his chair) and I ended up seeing George. I had made the appointment based on a recommendation from a friend who told me to ask only for Assaf so imagine my dissapointment when I made this appointment three weeks in advance and last minute they change it around. So my stylist was so rude! didnt even consult me and was on his phone looked at me for two seconds ran his fingers through my hair and literally just said 'ok"" and sent me off. I got a haircut done that day i wanted highlights but thought i would wait for a later time with assaf to do that. But that wont be happening, when I got my haircut my hair was chopped and hidious! I went to go pay and they charged me 75!!! for a horrible haircut normally i dont mind paying that but I have received better haircuts from the hair cuttery! The receptionist was rude and obviously has no clue of customer service, there was hair everywhere in the salon and when I finally got the honor to meet assaf (not much of an honor) I was dissapointed by his lack of proffesionalism. NEVER AGAIN! Save your money and go else where! more

I heard about this salon through a friend that had booked an appointment after purchasing a living social special and I decided to tag along since I was in desperate need for a cut. Everything from the moment i walked in was great. They where so friendly, and they took us on time and both of us came out looking great. They offered us beverages, and gave us both these awesome hand massages. I loved it, I am going back for a keratin treatment soon, the pricing is great, and so is the staff. It's so hard to find a good salon but at last I found one that fits me right! more

I bought a Groupon for this place, since I'm on a budget. Everything from making the appointment, my arrival, the shampoo (ohhhh, the shampoo) and of course, the haircut with Assaf was excellent! more

Excellent salon - I purchased a Groupon certificate for my daughter who received a deep conditioning treatment, haircut and blow out. She looked absolutely amazing after the service was completed! The deep conditioning treatment seemed to renew her highlights! Sydney is constantly receiving compliments - I am looking forward to my Brazilian Blowout! more

I arrived and they didnt seem to find me in the appointment book. I waited ~ 20 minutes to be introduced to my hairstylist which seeme to be in a rush. Place is nice and clean. Was then taken to get my hair washed where I got a really good scalp and hand massage. Nice touch. I got the Keratin hair treatment. It is def not the ""real one"". It seemed to be an accelerated quick vertion of it. Its supposed to last 3 mos ( as opposed to the 6 mos ). Then waited 30 minutes in line to pay for my service. The receptionist decided that it was more productive to talk to another client than to check me out. MAY OR MAY NOT GO BACK... more
