Best Indian in the city 8/1/2008

This was my first visit, and the food was amazing! I particularly loved the Chicken Saagwala. The interior decorations were very nice and warm. Service was all right due to the fact that it was the waitress' first day on the job...but other than that, I highly recommend it! Pros: Food, Ambience Cons: Parking more

Aslam Rasoi Fantastic Dinner 3/9/2008

Aslam Rasoi is a restaurant where you actually leave happy. When I went into the place,my jaw dropped with excitement because of the atmosphere. Wait, because I have much more to say. The most important thing, which was the food, also impressed me. My favorite was the chicken seekh kbob, which was a special that the chef would make every once in a while. There was even a treat a server gave us after our entree. It tasted like roses, and it wasn't bad. My favorite part was the service because I had an empty glass, waiting to be filled up, when a server came over and did so. That surprised me the most. That is your first time hearing from me, and I, a 9-year old, loved this restaurant. more

aslams 1/7/2008

Aslams is ""off the hook"", the food is great, the wine is great and thier deserts are also a pleaser. the people are great, and if you happen to show up on Thursday night, the have a belly dancer. the waiter/ waitresses, are incredible. they took my whole tables order, which consisted of about 10 of my friends, and the waiter didnt even write anything down, and when our food was brought to us, it was perfect. nice quiet place.\r Pros: service, enviroment, FOOOOOOOOD Cons: as most places in the city ""parking"" more

Saw Mayor Newson/Mouthwatering food 8/22/2007

Mouthwatering Indian food. My first time visit and saw Mayor Newson at Aslam?s. It was cool to meet the mayor the first time. I highly recommend Aslam?s Rasoi. \r \r However, I would like to comment on the review below. I understand that people can?t afford high quality food, but please don?t be repulsed by the ?top quality?\r \r Anyways, After today?s experience I?m attracted to this place for coming years :))\r Pros: Great Restaurant style Indian food, rich with spices and amiable service. Friendly staff, exceptional food and you get what you want...mild is mild and spicy is spicy - just like you asked for! Cons: parking on weekends is tough in the Mission more

ignore the others accolades....go elsewhere 8/18/2007

i read the reviews, which prompted me to go...i can only assertain that they are friends of the owners..the service was chaotic....the wait staff were running in and out of the kitchen to the point of nearly colliding with each other...the food arrived at the table late and sporatic as though it were courses....naan being last. to arrive..the chicken jalfrezi was undercooked (crunchy peppers) and bland....the samosas were good....not going back...many other indian restaurants that are more reasonably priced and more importantly tastier..... more

Best Indian Food in Town 8/12/2007

This is the best Indian restaurant in town. Not only is the food high-quality and delicious, but the staff is very friendly and accomodating. Often Indian food can be too greasy and disgusting. This, however, is phenomonal. I love bringing people here who fear Indian food. This restaurant always turns people around. It's hard to not eat everything in sight! It's so delicious I only go here. Pros: Delicious and high-quality food and service Cons: nothing more

THE BEST INDIAN IN TOWN! A MUST TRY! 5/31/2007

This cozy, hip little gem offers outstanding curries and tandori. The chef is is the best in the city as he was the head chef at Indian Oven and Rotti before he opened his own restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. By far the best indian food in the bay area! A MUST TRY! Pros: Great food, friendly and efficient staff and nice ambiance. more

Most Superb Indian anywhere 5/30/2007

Aslam's Rasoi has won my business. Great Entrees choices, and great customer service. I loved the Mango Lassi. Also, this place is exceptional nice inside. I would defintly recommend Aslam's place to anyone, even my high client tells from my business. I also loved the belly dancing on thursday nights. This is my first time review, and i have two words for this place ""top quality"". Pros: Ambience, Service, and Food Cons: Parking, and sometimes the wait on the weekends more

Fantastic Cuisine 3/13/2007

Aslam's Rasoi is outstanding. The service is warm and friendly, and the food is amazing. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that they want you to enjoy the experience. We even got a tour of the kitchen and a chance to meet the chef/owner who received rave reviews while he was at Indian Oven. We've dined all over the city, and this is the best Indian restaurant. more

Best Indian Food 3/8/2007

Recently, we went to Europe and traveled around Scotland and England extensively...searching out the very best Indian cuisine...we must have gone to at least 10 different restaurants and only 1 in Glascow, Scotland even came close to the delicious food and friendly service that Islam's is known for. Everytime we walk in we feel like family and it's the only place in the city we feel that way about! \r This is by far our FAVORITE Indian restaurant in the city and now, we can say it's our favorite from the states to Europe! Thanks Guys! Pros: Friendly staff, exceptional food and you get what you want...mild is mild and spicy is spicy - just like you asked for! Cons: A bit pricey, but worth every penny. more

Awesome Food and Mango Lassi 3/3/2007

There were 5 of us last night and it was a great experience. We ordered a Mixed Tandoorie, Chicken Tikka Marsala, Eggplant dish, Lamb dish, 2 kinds of Naan and MANGO LASSI !!!...Oh, the lassi is to die for. This is a good one. They're so flavorful and makes you keep going back for more. The food, atmosphere and service are great. Even though the dishes looks small but it's filling unless you're very very very hungry. Great food. Pros: food, atmosphere, service Cons: parking more

Most Excellent Pakistani & Indian Restaurant Anywhere 1/4/2007

This is my first time writing a review on city search. I would like to share my experience at Aslam's Raosi. My good friend told me about this place, and he knows his food. He has fallin in love with this place. The food and the amenities of this restaurant are wonderful. I also am fallin in love. Tasty curries, tandoori, and the best mango lassi out there. I would not compare this place with anything in Bay Area so far. If you compare this restaurant, then it would be like comparing the city?s top Indian restaurant to a jack in the box. Anyways, the only thing that this place needs is a parking place. I looked for street parking for about 30 mins, but found a parking garage on 21st street. Parking is hard in the area. On busy nights, you have to have patience. You have to try this place tho. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service Cons: Parking, and sometimes the wait more

Massive Improvement 1/2/2007

I've eaten here before and after the new management/chefs and it's improved exponentially. I've only eaten in the restaurant once but ordered takeout numerous times - it's delicious, great curries, wonderful nans and soft fluffy rice. It's very good and pretty spicy compared to other indian restaurants in town. The time I did eat at the restaurant service was ok but not great - seemed understaffed. All in all very good - keep up the good work.. more

BEST INDIAN FOOD IN THE MISSION 12/20/2006

WHEN I FIRST WALKED INTO ASLAM'S RASOI IT GAVE ME A WARM FEELING. THE FOOD WAS GREAT THE SERVICE WAS WONDERFULL. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE EVER TRIED INDIAN FOOD, THE FIRST TIME WAS AT DOSA BUT DOSA DOESNT COMPARE TO ASLAMS RASOI FOOD AND SERVICE. I WAS ABLE TO MEET THE HEAD CHEF AT ASLAMS RASOI ,HE WAS VERY HUMBLEING AND KIND TO MY GROUP OF FRIENDS. IF YOUR EVER IN THE MISSION I RECOMEND YOU STOP BY ASLAM RASOI FOR A GOOD INDIAN AND PAKISTANI FOOD. Pros: THE LIGHTING AND LOCATION WAS VERY ROMANTIC Cons: PARKING more

Mouthwatering Indian Food 12/18/2006

A good place for edible delight. 12/14/2006

Best Indian food to be found in a restaurant! 12/9/2006

Menu plays it safe with your typical Mughlai Style dishes.\r Friendly and congenial staff.\r Had the mixed tandoori grill, Rogan Josh, Eggplant and Assorted Bread Basket.\r Food was very well made, spicy and tender.\r There was no skimping on the exotic spices especially saffron in the Rogan Josh.\r However, small portions, on the creamy side and pricey. Average tab will come up to atleast 35-40 $ with a drink.\r My suggestion, do not get your own entree, share and get a taste of more dishes on the menu.\r They take their last order at 10:45 which is great.\r Thank you to the daughter of the chef (Sureesh) who was so nice and generous with us.\r \r Pros: Great Restaurant style Indian food, rich with spices and amiable service. Cons: Price and portions. more
