Absolutely Horrible 12/16/2011

There is not enough room to write how much I loathe this place. The apartments are very beautiful but to live there is complete hell. First of all the management is a very disrespectful staff, I dread going in the office to pay rent or to request a service for something because I was disgusted by there service. Not only is their service bad, but it was almost impossible to get them to do something about mold that was growing in our window seals and all the way up the wall. You will end up paying an arm and a leg to live here for a horrible experience, and then after the end of your 14 months of loyalty they'll want to up your rent $150. On top of that, the sound proofing--there is none-- is horrible. We heard the guy above us snoring every single night to the point to where we couldn't sleep and some nights it would even wake us up. We got to where we had to keep our blower fan on constantly so we could drown it out. After we moved out, we anticipated our security deposit back, and it was a total of $3.58. They dedcuted having to paint our walls, having to clean out kitchen drawers, and replacing drip pans on the oven. All this totaling $97.00 for daily wear and tear. Please keep the $3.58 and buy yourself some lessons on customer service. Don't even bother with this place, we live with Camden now and they are so much better. The living is comfortable, the staff is great and very helpful, and it is much much more quieter. more

MANAGEMENT JACKING UP RENT!!! 8/2/2011

The apartments are very good. I have to agree with the reviews left here about the management. It was taken over by Graystar and since then they have jacked up the rent prices. Don't be fooled by initial move-in rate. Your rent will probably go up when it comes to renewal. In my case it went up $60 per month. Of my years of renting history at different apartments, it usually goes up by $10 or $15. Also the management is not that friendly. Apart from this, the apartments are great. Most of the units have storage in between neighboring apartments, so basically you don more

AWESOME APARTMENTS! 3/9/2011

My family moved to Raleigh, NC from Wilmington, NC and had to lease over the phone due to such short notice of my job transfer. I was very skeptical of doing this, but the office staff I dealt with were so friendly and so helpful! I reserved our apartment before I even visited Raleigh, and the leasing agent who worked with me sent me pictures of our actual apartment and everything! \r \r We were very impressed upon first arriving to the community. The complex is very nice from the exterior and everything is brand new. The clubhouse area is really nice! They have a pool table and a gorgeous kitchen area that you can reserve for events. I wish we were able to rent out the area during later hours, but it is only available to rent while the leasing office is open. We had my sister's baby shower there one weekend and it was so nice! \r \r The pool area is really great too! They have an outdoor lounge sitting area with a fireplace. The pool is just a little crowed in the summer time, but that is to be expected at any apartment community. The office staff does a decent job at keeping all the non-residents out too which is very nice.\r \r We have had a great experience at this community and I have actually recommended it to a few co-workers that have relocated to Raleigh as well. They have moved in too and they love it! The locating is great...Not in a very congested area but still close distance to everything.\r \r more

NOT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE 3/3/2011

We moved in here in hopes of selling our house and lived here for 7 months. It looked great when we took the tour but was a totally different experience once we moved in. Personally the only great thing about this apartment complex is the pool. For starters there are train tracks very close by so the horn of the train woke us up every night around 3am. Ugh!! Hated this! Another thing is that there are many young people at the complex and there were parties going on constantly. I had to call the police on two different occasions. Other times I saw Raleigh Police out in the parking lot and personally I don't want to know why they were there. The common areas of the buildings were not cleaned once while I was there and the pine straw was so scares that I was constantly walking through red mud to get to my car. Another issue I had was that many of the apartments were located over garages which is noisy and I'm not sure how safe this is. In my opinion, management were very unprofessional. At one point they sent a letter around to all the residents that literally sounded like they were talking to 3 year olds about keeping the pool clean. Excuse me for the residents who are not involved with the issue of the pool should not be spoken to this way. We are an upper middle class family and this was not the right place for us on so many levels. more

We absolutely LOVED living here! 2/16/2011

One of the best parts of Asbury Village is the gorgeous pool area. It is designed to make you feel like you're at a resort on a tropical island somewhere. The pool closes at 10pm during the open season; Kinda wish the hot tub would be at least open a little later but not a big deal. \r \r The apartment itself is really nice as well. There are stainless steel appliances and they all come with a washer and dryer which is really convenient. We moved in July 2009 and have enjoyed living at Asbury over any other apartment complex by far. They staff is awesome! They are so friendly and easy to work with. We moved into a new apartment, so we never experienced many maintanence issues - but if something ever came up, they staff was quick to repair. \r \r We would've renewed here but had to transfer cities due to my husband's job. \r \r Overall, I recommend Asbury Village to anyone I know looking for a nice place to live in Raleigh. AWESOME location too! Very convenient to everything in the Raleigh/Durham area... more

Apartments are gorgeous, but expensive. overall happy 2/7/2011

The apartments are beautiful. There is track lighting which is very nice, there is an island in the kitchen. We have the 2 bed/2 bath and both bedrooms have large closets and the bathrooms have nice soaking tubs. These are new, we were told they first opened May 2009. My roommate and I moved in January 2010. We were very pleased with the friendliness of management at first, as well as the high level of customer service. Any maintenance issues reported are always taken care of right away. They are pet-friendly, but charge an arm and a leg for pets. Only problems so far are that Fairfield went under, and management changed to Greystar. They have increased rent prices as well as added pet rent (was not required when we first moved in, when we paid $450 in non-refundable pet fees). Sadly, one of our favorite people in the office left when management changed, and was replaced by someone else who seems to have a chip on her shoulder and creates problems when there aren't any, and makes people feel awkward because she is demeaning and patronizing. If you want my money, you should keep me reasonably happy, because otherwise I will find someone else willing to take it. Also, our next door neighbor likes to party, blasting her radio loudly inside her home and talking on her cell phone outside on her porch so that we can hear it at the opposite end of the apartment, even late at night when she seems to be even louder for some reason. She's gotten better about blasting the radio through the wall at least, since we first moved in and now *usually* turns it down by the so-called ""mandatory"" 10 PM quiet hour, which is nice. I suspect that this is not the case in all apartments, though I would not recommend poolside for anyone who wants quiet because they've had issues with noise there too. All in all, it is much better than most other places I have ever lived, in terms of parking, management, maintenance and amenities. If you can afford it, I recommend it. more
