Ardmore Pediatrics

I wanted to like this practice but at every turn I was disappointed. The one appointment that will forever stand out was the one where the staff were so late to an 8am appointment I sat in a dark, yes, dark office with no one there for 20 minutes alone with my 1.5 year old daughter. No one apologized for being 20 minutes late for their first scheduled appointment of the day! Billing mistakes, clerical issues, and the rude sign at the front desk stating something about 'your mistakes are not my problem' were enough to send me packing. It is a shame, the doctor was nice. more

My husband and I chose Ardmore Pediatrics for our newborn son after a recommendation from a friend. We love Dr. Zavod - he is great! He is well informed and answers our questions. He is great with our son too. The office staff are friendly in person, but on the phone - ugh! They always put you on hold for at least 5 minutes every time you call. Also their system for billing/scheduling appointments/etc. is ANCIENT! They write everything down in a book - there are no computers. So there are no calls for appointment reminders or even calls if you miss an appointment. My son is 1 now and had to be back for a second round of shots (time sensitive) I missed the appointment and didn't realize till 3 days later - no one even realized we didn't show!! I called to tell them we missed our appt and they were so rude! There was no urgency or sympathy or remorse for the mess up and I was on the verge of tears trying to get a new appointment made. Sooooo Dr. Zavod is an great Dr. - I've only heard great things about the other Dr.s as well, but the administration stinks!! more

We've been using Ardmore Pediatrics for 3.5 years ( since our son was 1 ) - we've been very happy with the care we've received from Dr. Zavod and Dr. King. They both have a great bedside manner with our son, and take the time to explain things to him and to us. We've never had a problem getting seen, and have always received prompt return calls when using the emergency after-hours calling system. We have even received unprompted follow-up calls from the dr's office when our son has had a particularly nasty illness. This makes us feel like the dr's really care for the health of our child. This practice also has an office in downtown Philadelphia, just on the Center City side of the Walnut St bridge, convenient to Penn and the Rittenhouse/Graduate Hospital area. We have been happy with traditional care ( including all vaccines on the regular schedule). I don't know if this practice would be amenable to alternative vaccine schedules, or skipping vaccinations.
