Great care for out puppy 10/8/2007

After moving to C-ville in Aug07, we called around to look for a new vet just in time for our puppy neuter. After getting quotes at several places, we opted to check this place out because they used a laser neuter which required no stitches and less down-time. This surgery went VERY well, and the incision site looked great and healed quickly. The staff was very good- no mistakes made and we felt our puppy was in good hands. While the price is high here, it is MUCH lower than what we paid for Vet care (in Austin, TX), so I'm not sure what other reviewers expect. If you want to be sure your pet gets the best care, these guys will do so. more

Not Impressed 4/28/2007

The vets did a fine job. It was the staff who worked upfront that disappointed me. When I was picking up my dog a woman at the desk began to tell me what was basicly my worst dream come true. She said that my dog had a serious leg problem and the cost was going to be around $2,000.00. I thought to myself, "My god I have to put my dog down because I can't afford several thousand dollars to save his life!" I was devasted. A few minutes later she tells me I was the wrong customer, it was not my dog. Nonetheless, the emotional rollercoaster ride and her lack of even noticing what she had done to me was irritating. Other things occured as well that I won't get into from the ladies up front. more

Scarry Place to take your pet. 1/7/2007

I took my cat to the Animal Hospital of Ivy Square for a simple procedure. They made him wait 6 hours past his appointment to take care of him, used different, more expensive, anesthesia, did unnecessary inappropriate lab tests such as sticking a needle through his abdomen to take a urine sample without cause or permission...(I had directed them to do no additional lab work.) They insisted I pay for the inappropriate services before I was given my pet back. They had two good phone numbers to reach me during the procedure. They did a terrible job on what they were suppose to do. I contacted the veterinary board and found other similar complaints against them. When I spoke to the senior vet who took "care" of my pet, he repeatedly changed his story on my pets care. I feel horrible that I subjected my precious pet to this horrible place. more

unnecessary tests 4/25/2006

I completely agree with Jennifer B. These vets might mean well, but they do do apparently unnecessary and definitely expensive tests & without making it clear to the client that they are unnecessary. Then if you ask any questions they seem high-handed & defensive. more

Cutting edge veterinary technology 8/18/2005

I worked at this clinic for a period of time and took my pets there while I was working there. This clinic has the latest in pet diagnostics and treatment. The prices here are quite high compared to other clinics in the area. The veterinarian seems to enjoy working with pets, but sometimes recommends services that I dont feel are completely necessary. The veterinarian is very focused on every aspect of preventive medicine and pain management. more
