Editorial review from Citysearch 8/19/2013

One of the Worst\r \r I am not sure who they think they are fooling but what they serve is not vietnamese food. \r \r I have many friends from Vietnam, so many I could not name them all if I tried and have eaten and none use the hot sauce like this. If they didn't want to serve Vietnamese food they should just call their restaurant American crap and get on with foreclosure. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever had the displeasure to visit.\r \r To be fair, I was warned by a good friend of mine that this place was not authentic, and he is from Vietnam, being born there and lived there for many years, but restaurants with the same name exist in other places and their service and food have been amazing.\r \r Perhaps this is a drug hangout, which kind of explains their patrons, lack of authentic spices and inability to speak Vietnamese.\r \r My final review or tip is to try Chan's down the street or one of the other excellent Vietnamese restaurants in the Vi-Mi district. more

Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine 11/12/2009

The service and the food was absolutely fabulous. The herbs, vegetables, and meat was fresh and prepared with the idea that the chef wanted to get married to the patron. Best vietnamese I have eaten yet. Pros: the food was great Cons: my stomach could not handle more of what my mouth wanted more

Great food, great friendly service and reasonable $ 3/11/2009

I was visiting Orlando with my father who had never tried Vietnamese food. I found Anh Hong here on Citysearch and decided to give it a try. Here in Southern California, we have a large population of Vietnamese so I wasn't expecting a lot. I was presently surprised and thought it was better than what I can get here in Southern California. I originally went for dinner and it was so good went back the next day for lunch. My father loved it and the staff were very helpful in describing the different foods to him. Pros: Authentic Vitenamese food, staff was very friendly more

Not so mega yummo 1/29/2009

This place is just ok. The food is mediocre in comparison to their local competitors. I believe they could do better with their service and their quality of food. On the bright side, they are fast in getting the food out to you. I only wished that it was Mega Yummo. more

Food is tasty 3/20/2008

I love eating here. My Family and I always plan once a week to eat here. The food is fresh and very tasty. I love their meat and bread. They're better than any Panera Bread. more

Great Food/Great Service 4/4/2007

We found Anh Hong through the City Search site and ate there at lunchtime when we visited Orlando in Feb. Our server quickly realized that we needed help with the extensive menu. She guided us by asking what we liked and made recommendations. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The spring rolls, not fried, were scrumptious. We both had squid dishes (different ones) , something we cannot get in our favorite family Chinese restaurant at home...cooked to tender perfection and deliciously ""hot."" The best part was realizing that this was a family owned restaurant...our favorite kind. When we finished eating, the ""hostess"" came to our table to welcome us. We learned that she was part of the family who owned the restaurant. We were delighted to learn about their journey to America and then to meet her two daughters and her nieces when they arrived after school with cream filled doughnuts to snack on! We'd love to return and hope that YOU will give it a try. The restaurant is on a corner and was easy to find. Pros: Great value, good service, welcoming to ""newcomers"" Cons: None that we noticed more

The place to enjoy vietnamese cuisine 2/10/2007

Not a fan of big fancy loud restaurants. Then try Anh Hong. Its nice and quite atmosphere allows one to enjoy and savor the delicious Vietnamese cuisine it offers. Very few of its kind, Anh Hong is a small humble restaurant that you can relax and enjoy an impeccable meal without having to deal with all the commotion that comes along with the more than annoying larger crowded restaurants. With its friendly employees not being distracted by multiple customers its service is more individualized. Speaking of service, delivery is amazing. Before you even get the opportunity to ask ""whats taking so long"" your meal arrives promptly under your nose blessing you with its aromas. With its excellent atmosphere, and incredible service, Anh Hong is just one of those restaurants you feel at home in. Not to mention the price. I felt as if i was robbing the place when i saw the bill. With that said, Anh Hong gets a double thumbs up and 1st place on my fine dining list. Pros: Small and quite Cons: Parking more

User review by polygonpanties 2/23/2006

Orlando is blessed with almost too many Vietnamese restaurants, but Ahn Hong is my favorite. Its menu is extensive and lets you stick to your budget or treat yourself. [The best value in town is an order of their delicious summer rolls ($2.50) followed by a tofu French sub (also $2.50). You'll be stuffed!] They serve a number of vegetarian meals as well as meat, chicken, pork, and seafood dishes. I order the seafood papaya salad, anything stir fried with lemongrass and chili, the grilled shrimp rice vermicelli bowl, or the sweet and sour tofu with veges. If you ever feel like you're getting sick, let the thick, velvety broth of the duck pho work its magic. And if you're dying of a Florida heatstroke, slurp on the jackfruit smoothie or the mocha bubble tea as you watch the poor saps outside fight their way through Colonial and Mills. more

This place is addicting 7/16/2004

This place is so goooooood! I can't stop coming here, it's like each time I pass the restaurant I always have to come in and get a bite. It is like the smell pulls me in there. Just typing about right now makes me want to drool. It is so good I can't even describe It, you'll just have to go there to know what I mean. Ohhh, the food is so yummy. Pros: great value, nice sevice, good food more

Pure and exotic Viet cuisine 3/30/2003

Anh Hong is by far the best Vietnamese restaraunt I have ever been to. The Pho rice noodle soup tastes like no other Pho I've ever experienced. The rice noodles have the perfect elastic consistency and the broth, whatever magical ingredients it contains, is absolutely delicious. My favorite dish, Pho Tai Nam Gan Sach, contains tripe which is a beautiful compliment to the rice noodles. The menu at AnH Hong is enormous with 234 items one can choose from. As far as atmosphere is concerned, Anh Hong is quaint and friendly. Nice people, great food, great prices, the bathroom has steaming hot water, and there are even dishes for sale at the counter ready to take home. I love this place. It improves the quality of my life. 150 words cannot describe how good Anh Hong is. Pros: inexpensive, exotic food, over 200 items onmenu more

good food if you can get 3/23/2003

The food at Anh Hong is pretty good if you actually manage to get what you ordered. Our waiter only pretended to understand English and kept bringing us food we didn't order. When we did finally manage to get the we wanted, it was very tasty. The summer rolls are bigger than Little Saigon's with more shrimp (although the peanut sauce is not quite as good). If they could sort out their service issues, this would be a very good restaurant. more

Variety is the Spice of Life! 8/19/2002

Everytime we go to this place, we try another dish just to see how different it is from all the others. You won't find the same old taste all over the menu. This restaurant excels in making each dish dissimilar from all the rest. The appearance of the dishes is delightful, with each served as though it were especially made for a gourmet review. If you want to break out of the same old rut, this is the place for you! Pros: inexpensive, family friendly Cons: limited parking more

PHO for you 8/12/2002

If you are seeking REAL Vietnamese Cuisine, Anh Hong is the place to go. All meals (and I've had them all) are as I remember from my 3 years in Viet Nam. A warm welcome, quick service, and a desire to make everyone happy, with an explanition of how to best enjoy yopur meal. The Pho Duc Biet is a meal to enjoy. Pros: Helpful staff, Inexpensive, Quality/Quanity Cons: Parking more

Simply Irresistible 7/27/2002
