Editorial review from Citysearch 5/31/2013

This place is the worst ever. Bought a new boat here. What a mistake. Dave in service is a habitual liar and has more excuses and stall tactics than anyone I've know. Judy is no better. You will never get what you want. Trust me STAY AWAY. Drive a bit further to a reputable shop. You will be WAY AHEAD to shop elsewhere. Check other reviews and the BBB on this place. ANDERSON is HORRIBLE. more

Fast, friendly and professional 8/23/2011

I purchased my pontoon boat a few years back from Anderson boat sales. The salesman was friendly and professional and the transaction went very smoothly. The boat is great!!! I needed service a few weeks ago, the water pump failed on the motor. They told me it would be approximately seven days for the repair. On day five they called me and said it was ready!! Got the boat back on the lake and has ran great since the repair. Great job!!! more

Beware of Service 7/10/2011

I haven't been back to them in 7 years. I had the engine short block replaced by anderson. Needless to say it was expensive, they used automotive head gaskets. Although it has been 7 years, the head gasket on port side of engine failed. I don't run engine very long due to I drift fish mostly, so this maybe why the gaskets lasted. I stored my boat for the winter but when I picked it up the following spring the rear trailer lights were broken and tires were flat. After some poor customer relations they relented and repaired the trailer lights. more

Great service!! 6/21/2011

I've lived on a lake for 26 years and have dealt with many of the local boat stores. Andersons is by far the best, they always have the parts I need or they can order them and I get them within a day or two. They've had parts on hand that 2 or 3 other places haven't. I also take my boat there for service and have always gotten it back in a reasonable amount of time. I will continue to use them for many years. more

terrible boat service, never gets finsihed when they say 3/22/2011

this place is a mess. been 3 weeks and still haven't replaced a pull string on the engine. said it would be done in 3 days. No one ever has answers and their salesmen was the only one there once and couldn't even look to see if the string was on yet. 5 days from launch and no engine. no looking good guys. been there 3 times and all 3 were terrible. will drive farther to a different service shop. Don't us them. they suck more

Quality Service 3/20/2011

I have been a boat owner for over 10 years owning several boats with my last two purchased from Anderson Boat Sales. They are very friendly and make any of my purchases smooth and easy. I did not feel over whelmed or pushed to buy a boat. I knew what I wanted and was directed in the right way. I do all my business with them from water toys, parts and service, and purchasing a new boat. I have always felt welcomed when in the store or on the phone. I recommend Anderson Boat Sales for any of you boating needs! more

Poor Management and Overall Lack of Process Control 8/18/2010

Anderson's Boat Sales is exceptionally poor at managing basic the basic functions of boat service. Ordering parts takes far too long and they appear to have no (or very little) ability to track shipments once orders are placed. Estimates are useless and in my experience take at least 3 to 4 times longer than stated by the service manager. Summer in Michigan is too short to waste valueable time with these incompetents who really don't know how (or perhaps don't care) to run their business properly.\r I won't do business with Anderson in the future and suggest that potential customers look at other options before considering Anderson Boats more

Worst service go to any other boat store 7/24/2010

I bought a pontoon boat with an electric engine from them 4 years ago and they store my boat in the winter. When they delivered my boat in early may the shaft to my engine was bent. They of course denied damaging it but it was not damaged when they picked it up and other boat dealers sid it could only be bent by backing it up into something while on the trailer. They said it would take a week or 2 to fix it . It is 3 months and I still dont have my motor . They blame it on Minnekota but when we called them they said Anderson never ordered the part. Dave the manager is the worst he outright lies to you. He said the motor was ready and they would have it on the boat last Saturday we waited all day and they never came. When I called the following Monday they said the motor wasnt done and they just started working on it that day and we should have it in a couple of days. By the following Saturday we still didnt have the motor and when we called they said they would be bringing it to us later that day. Again we waited and they didnt come or call. They outright lie to you and good luck trying to get them to call you back. Leaving a message is pointless because they will not return your call. Do not do business with this place buy a boat or service it somewhere else even if you have to pay more . If I ever get my engine back this is the last I will ever deal with them. I already filed a complaint with the better business bureau and would sue them if I had the time. STAY AWAY FROM ANDERSON BOATS !!! Pros: absolutely none Cons: liars and cheats more

Avoid this store. Worst customer service ever! 9/3/2008

During the fall of 2007, we took our just recently fully restored boat to this company to have the engine inspected for damage (cracks) due to water expansion as the boat wasn't winterized on time before weather freezing temperatures arrived. We were provided with a quote of just short of $5,000 to have the engine block and 2 new manifolds that were cracked replaced as well as full winterization and storage of the boat during the winter until spring. We provided them with a $3,000 deposit to have the service done and left the boat there during the winter season as they have suggested, with the remainder of the agreed price to be paid upon retrieval of the repaired boat in the spring. On the spring when we went there to pick the boat up, we discovered that the boat wasn't covered properly (shrink wrap) prior to storage and water was present in the interior of the boat. In addition to the cabin interior water damage (mold, mildew, stains) the window hatch was broken due to improper handling. After several unsuccessful attempts to have the water damage and window repaired by them, we have agreed with the store manager (Dave) on May 4th 2008 to have us perform the cleaning of the mold/mildew from the carpet and upholstery on our own with a corresponding reduction in price of the remainder payment that was due. The agreement was also made that he was going to personally order a new window hatch to replace the broken one (value of approx. $400), which has never materialized. Innumerous follow up calls and visits have been made to the store (in excess of 30) in the last 4 months to check the status of the window hatch order, and even today (Sep 3) Dave continues to promise that he is working on it but hasn't receive it yet.\r Not to mention that they crashed our trailer and damaged the side light during multiple attempts to deliver us the boat with water inside!! Cons: too many to list more
