They came to my home thru warranty company and they checked everything and left. Then they claimed they have fixed everything. They not only didn't, but also dismantle some parts from my toilet and left. Never recommending them at all. Never let them in your home. more

I too was treated rudely and was talked to as if I were a child. My home warranty company also set up this nightmare to come repair my water heater. Just in the first conversation with this witch I decided that U would not let this company do any work in my home. After reading these reviews, I contacted my home warranty company and refused service from American plumbing in Waterford. At any time in the present and future. more

Our hot water tank need some “help.” On Friday, we contacted American Home Shield (AHS)Warranty Program that we have had for 9 years. They sent our American Plumbing Services to do the job. We received a call from American Plumbing Services the same day to schedule an appointment. Chris, the owner, stated that a plumber would be out on Monday and that we would receive a call Sunday with a time span to expect the plumber. Sunday came and went without any phone call (should have been our first clue). Monday came and when it was late afternoon we called to inquire when the plumber would arrive. Chris told us she was not even aware a plumber was suppose to be out on Monday (clue #2). Chris scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. The plumber arrived and he and my husband examined the hot water tank. The plumber stated the tank needed to be replaced and we would be good to go. He would place the order for the tank with AHS and call with the installation date. On that Thursday we had voicemail from the plumber stating it would cost us an additional $289 to have the tank place. We called the company and Chris told us she did not have the paperwork in front of her so she could not answer our questions. We contact AHS who listed the 3 additional parts we needed and then mentioned a disposal fee of $94 the plumbing company charges. We immediately called a certified plumbing company for an estimate. The owner himself came out and gave a definitive/ all included quote the same day. It did not include any of the parts American Plumbing Services were charging. The plumber stated we did not need those parts and had others they were charging. The story gets better, but I will cut to the chase.: 1. DO NOT USE American Plumbing Services unless you want to get ripped off and receive terrible customer service. 2. AHS, who use to be a good company, has gone to the dogs. They believe the contractors they work with than the customer who pays their month bill for their services. more

5/30/14: I have never been treated so rudely by any company in any industry. I called for a leaky water heater and was informed that "water on my part does not mean an emergency on their part". I explained that I have water all over my finished basement and need this fixed and was again given the option for a week later. After I questioned again, the man said "since you arent getting your way, I will be rude...." and continued to speak to me like a 3 year old. I hired a different company and when i called back to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that I had been speaking to the owner the whole time. When I explained why I was upset, (I am a doctor and used my business as an example) he said " doctors are like that." Then he hung up. I would never use this company and neither should you. more

I wish I would have read these review before using this company! I would steer away from using American Plumbing in Waterford, MI. They are extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! The lady who answers the phone claims to be the owner and is the rudest, most miserable person I have ever spoken to on the phone.They've been out to my house 4 times within 1 week and my problem (my hot water tank) is still not fixed! I've had to take 4 days off work now. They originally said they would work around my schedule so I wouldn't have to miss anytime, but they never once worked around my schedule and I had to take 4 days off work. I'm sure I will have to take a couple more days off work before I get my hot water tank fixed. I've lost $500 in lost time from work. They keep postponing replacing my hot water tank. They've tried replacing the pressure release valve and also the thermostat, but still I do NOT have hot water or a new hot water tank....NOT to mention it is 20 degrees outside and I have a baby at home. I had a service appointment with American Plumbing. This is a horrible company. They called me one time and left a message. I called them minutes later, no answer. I called back at least a half a dozen times and received no response. I left numrous messages concerning the need for service. I had water in my basement. I called again the next day, Saturday mid day. Wouldn't you know the same witch answered the phone and never appologized once for not returning any of my calls. She was very snotty and Hung up on me twice. She then took her phone off the hook. She claimed she was the owner. Very unprofessional! I would never use this company. This supposed owner needs lessons in customer service. more

They are completely unprofessional. they have no clue how to do business. they have a psycho secretary who will not stop callin my cellphone. they are the worst. more

My home warranty company referred me to this company after my basement flooded. The plumber came out and snaked the lines and removed a lot of roots, I live in Royal Oak where it is common to have roots and need to be snaked every year. Two days later when we took the carpet off the basement floor we noticed a lot of water in the drain in the floor, almost about to flood again. I called the plumbing company back and they refused to come back out saying that it was normal to have water that high in the pipes. Now I have to pay a different plumber to figure out what issues I have that they refused to correct. more

Our home warrantee company refered us to this plumber, and the experience was awful. First it took 4 days to get them to come out to our house, and then when they came, they said that it would take a few days to get the parts we needed. All it needed was a simple gasket, that could have been picked up that day, but instead they took over a week to get the parts and return to install them. When we called to try to find out why it was taking so long we were treated like crap, and basically given a "you already paid your deductible so we'll come when we feel like it" attitude. Though the leaks got fixed, the plumber reversed the hot and cold lines, causing lots of problems (and burns) for my 3 year old whose bathroom it is. Amatuer mistake from a very unprofessional company. more

Dealing with this company has been terrible. I had a problem with a water line leaking. We thought the line was to the outside spigot because it was not working. I called this company they told me that it was the hose bib without even looking at the problem. Finally I got them to come out and we realized the line was not for the spigot at all but actually for an old water line that led to something else entirely. They also told me that my sewage ejection pump was broken and needed to be replaced it would be around $600.00 for the job. MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT IT AND REALIZED THE PUMP WASN'T PLUGGED IN!!!! What a joke this company is. Beware when dealing with them. more
