I am very pleased with the service received, thanks to Bernadette D. She is the sweetest person and makes my experience a great one. After over a year of treatment, I just started to see some results. Keep up the good work Bernadette and hopefully I will get rid of it all. I've been doing hair removal treatments since the year 2000 in different facilities and nothing has worked well for me until American Laser Centers. I have referred personal friends and I myself have signed up for new packages after happily completing other packages with them that I started in 2006.......This means I have experienced both the new and old management and seen the new laser technologies cycle through the door throughout the years. They are always getting new equipment and keeping up with the times. Pros: Good & safe results in comfortable/professional atmosphere Cons: takes time and money but I think most places do more

I've been a client of American Laser Center for 2+ years and have seen none of the results they initially guaranteed. I am sick to think of the amount of money I've already spent and the money still owed, and I'm not even done. I am going to do whatever it takes to reclaim lost damages. Do not use them, they are only in it to make money, it does not work here, please find a reputable clinic. Cons: Doesn't work more

This place is AWFUL. I did a full cycle of Velasmooth (cellulite treatment) and laser hair removal. Completed all velasmooth with NO result (2K later). Friend bought whole body laser hair package 2 years ago and after 12 bikini sessions she still has the same amount of hair! She's spent 6k and endless hours for nothing. I went elsewhere and after 5 treatments I have no hair. I made the MISTAKE of purchasing a forearm package (prior to speaking with her) but will be looking to get a refund based on her experience and the fact that they charged me TWICE what I could have paid at a reputable company. Do your homework and find a place that has top notch lasers. They use IPL which is not the best for hair removal. This place is a joke. Plus, they've closed several of their LA locations and have a class action suit coming. Cons: Overpriced, No results. more

I want to kick myself for not doing the research before hand. I agree that the positive comments sound like they were written by the staff. Im sorry but I have been researching on reviews of ALC all over the country and about 99% of them are 1 star. That is not a coincidence. I have had so much trouble with this place and for the amount of money we spent you would think they'd treat their customers with a little bit of respect. I signed up for velashape in a location where the manager told me that they would be getting the machine in a couple of weeks. I kept calling back to see if the machine had arrived until one of the staff told me that they had no idea when it was supposed to arrive. That was back in October of 2007, it is not August 2008 and they still dont have the machine. Basically I was lied to. Since I paid for the service I had to switch to another location further away from my house- and that took ages. I had to call 8 or 9 times for them to finally send my file over. It seems to me that transferring a patient's file to a different location is about one of the simplest tasks that a person can be asked to perform, but apparently it is too difficult or complex for the staff at alc. I was on here looking for a place to get my hair done and I saw American Laser pop up...I can't believe the mixed reviews although, as a patient, I can relate. I signed up at the Beverly Hills location 2 years ago and had the absolute worst experience. I could never get an appointment. Nobody ever answered the phone. The managers were always getting fired or quitting or something and there was always a different nurse treating me. It was really bad. I ended up changing to Pasadena. (That's one good thing I can say about the company is that it is really great that I could transfer my sessions to another location!) Anyway, my experiences at that location have been much better. They don't change staff and I always get the same nurse, Carole. It's just night and day from my experience in Beverly Hills. I'm very happy I transfered and I'm happy that all the people in Pasadena have been so nice to me and taken really good caer of me! I'm pleased with everything over all. I am giving 5 stars based on the experience I had with this company so far. My mom and I both won gift certificates at an event we attended and we decided to look into it. I do think the prices were high but I felt comfortable with everything and I'm excited. My mom went to the clinic in La Jolla and she said her experience was not that great but I've been treated nicely every time I've come to Pasadena. I totally agree with AngelSoul. Although I live and work in Pasadena, just one block from their center, Ashly, the ""manager"" 's attitude and rudeness finally drove me away from them and to the Beverly Hills branch. When my first sets of treatments was over and I expressed my dissatisfaction with the results (contrary to my previous laser treatments on older laser machines elsewhere), very smoothly I was tricked to get another deal with them! Pros: Occasional good price deals, their 2 year guarantee, and their geographical location Cons: everything else more

This is the first time I have written a complaint, and I am doing this to warn others. Stay away from this place! This company deserves a negative rating. They lure you in with a $300 coupon that everyone wins, pressure sales you, the laser machines are very painful contrary to what they tell you, they don't return phone calls, Ashley the manager is very rude and has an attitude problem, it is almost impossible to get an appointment, they are always overbooked and you end up waiting almost an hour for treatment, the staff is inexperienced, and many people have gotten burned by the lasers. The positive reviews on this site all sound similar and sales pitchy. I suspect they are employees of this office trying to get their rating up. The corporate customer service center doesn't return phone calls either. Do a search on the internet, google American Laser Centers ripoff or scam. Do your research, save your money, stay away from this horrible company. They should not be in business and what goes around comes around. They need to be shut down. Cons: they exist more

I started my treatments back in 2005 and although it was a long process, I couldn't be more pleased with the results and treatment I received! I don't ever have to worry about my back hair...EVER!!! Amazing!!!!!!! I am a little upset over the complaints I read here. After going in for treatments for so long, I feel like the staff and I are more like friends and I can't understand how any of them could have ever acted the way these other people are claiming. I've developed relationships with all of them! Ashley Is wonderful and beyond sweet and she can tell a joke like nobody I've ever heard!!!!! She cracks me up! Carole is AMAZING and very insightful! Melinda was great and I really missed her when she left. Debbie is funny and gives great advice! I'm so curious about thes stories because I can't imagine these ladies being anything other than pleasant and helpful. It makes me sad and I hope they never come accross this site and see these things. I've had an incredible experience and all of my hair is gone! I just signed up for Lazer Hair Removal and a treatment called Amerismooth which is supposed to help with cellulite. So far so good. I've had 3 cellulite treatments and 1 lazer treatment and I can already see a difference. I really liked the office and the staff. The manager was so sweet and the nurse who did my lazer was great. Her name is Nicole and she was wonderful...I requested her for all of my future appointments and the manager arranged that for me which I thought was awesome! The girl who did my cellulite treatment was also really nice and knowledgable....her name is Laura and I loved her! Pros: Everything! Love it! Cons: You have to pay for parking and hard to get last minute appointments more

I am so curious as to why some of these people are so unhappy with this facility...I think the staff is the BEST thing about this company! I've had treatments with a dermatologist before and you would think a doctor's office would have been able to provide me with great customer care and results but I got none of that! I have been a patient with American Laser Centers in Pasadena for almost 2 years. I have had nothing but good experiences every time I've gone in for treatments. I was hesitant to sign up with them because I had heard some not so wondeful things about this company but when I went in for my first appointment, everyone was really nice! I'll be honest, my results were slow to come but the staff made me feel hopeful by educating me on the process. (I LOVE Carole!!!!!) I've been going to American Laser for two years now. I've had great results! And anything that grows back within 2 years of your last service they remove for free! So really you're not paying for 6 treatments. You're paying for two and a half years worth of treatment, which they offer at a geat deal. Most laser places charge you at least $75 for each touch up and they don't guarntee that all the hair will be gone after your alloted 5 or 6 treatments. I got a bikini and underarm package for $1500. I made friends with the girl who treats me and she does my stomach for free everytime I go. They always have 20% off specials going on and even if they don't once you become a customer they hook you up with deals on additional packages. I didn't get any scars or have any bad reactions to the treatment. Just smooth skin with just a little bit of hair left, but they're taking care of that with the touch ups. more

I made an appointment at the Brentwood location. They left a message saying a nurse had been in an accident and they needed to cancel my appointment. Another message is left saying that I'm actually not a client in the system so the appointment they made for me wasn't a real appointment, cause I'm not in the system, so they found a new nurse and gave someone else my appointment time. Another message, if you can get into our offices by 2pm we can squeeze you in. I called at 2:30pm.....they were angry at me saying they waited around for my call. I said, ""I've been at work, I just got your message."" Again they tell me I am not in the system so my appointment is meaningless....they need my creditcard info to make an appointment. So, they say they will fax paperwork to me to sign for them to process my credit card. I then decided to read the reviews before I signed the paperwork. JUST AS I EXPECTED. I called back and said I would not be going through with their services. They say they already processed my card. I retorted that was completely unethical, I hadn't given permission. These people are professional SCAM ARTISTS!! Please beware?I faced a similar scam as the other reviewer. They lured me in with a $300 gift certificate that I won through a raffle. During my consultation, she rushed me through 8 pages of paperwork stating that she can squeeze me in if we hurried. After my treatment, they said I still had to pay since it was not ?part of a package.? However, she NEVER specified this restriction. When I had asked if there were any restrictions on the $300 winnings, they said no. When I proceeded to dispute the charge, she immediately called the police and accused me of committing a crime! Since I had signed the contract and they never gave me a physical coupon (only a phone call to inform me of my reward), I was obligated to pay. more

I made the mistake of not doing an internet search on this place before showing up for services. Look up ""American Laser Center bad"" or ""American Laser Center rip off"" or even just ""American Laser Center review"" which pulls up an ABC news story on how this company is hell-bent on getting your money. more
