We were charged $1017.50 for packing our 2+ bedroom house (we already got rid of lots of stuff and put lots more in our vehicles for transport). This seems somewhat excessive to me. But the move isnt over yet, still in transit at this time. Pros: On Time Cons: Packing charges too high more

The whole process with movers is supposed to be simple, but sometimes we fall into the wrong situations. I heard from a friend of mine that wanted to do a local moving in San Jose area, just a few blocks away from his place. He called a local independent guy that will do the moving, and they got into argue about the price. The mover did a bad job, and my friend didn’t find two of his boxes. From this point I decided I will only work with professionals when it is got to do with moving. I really liked American Choice Van Lines, which I used in my last move. They were very friendly and didn’t charge for too much money. Everything was clear, and I didn’t have any unpleasant surprises. American Choice Van Lines did a great job with our long distance move. Our main concern was doing the move in a timely manner. We have a dog and a baby, so timing was key. Our next main concern was making sure everything made it in one piece. They showed up bright and early as scheduled, and they completed everything on schedule as well. This showed me that the estimate they gave me for packing, transportation, and unpacking was correct. We had a 3 BR apt, and they packed it up very carefully and quickly. I was very happy that they also packed all of our glass and crystals individually. One guy basically spent the whole time in the kitchen wrapping everything! In Kentucky as we unpacked we were very happy to find not one chip in our dishes, cups, and wine glasses. We also were pleased that the foreman was very organized and responsible. We moved from Redwood City to Utah 2 months ago and had an amazing experience with American Choice! It was a 3 day marathon, but these guys worked so hard and so carefully that we didn't have a single box left at the end of the 3rd day, and nothing was damaged or broken. We had a great team of guys who unloaded 2 huge trucks in 30 degree cold. They were so courteous and thoughtful! One neatly folded my 2 yr old daughter's clothes for her dresser. Another helped my mom organize my entire kitchen! We liked the guys so much that we hugged them good-bye and took a photo together! I just used American Choice Van Lines to move from a large two bedroom to a smaller one bedroom in SF. American Choice was great. They showed up on time (a little early, actually). The guys they sent worked really fast, and nothing got broken. They gave me the choice of a flat rate or hourly rate. I chose hourly and was glad to see that in the end, the price came out as less than the estimates I had gotten from companies that offer a “guaranteed” or “flat” price. I also used them to store some of my furniture that wouldn’t fit in the new apartment. They made everything really easy on me. I’d recommend American Choice to anyone. more

I have moved several times in the last 7 years - 3 cross country moves complete with packing services. This was my first lower budget move from San Francisco to Portland, OR. Three movers were running up and down 4 flights of stairs out of my apartment, no complaints at all. Great service, very fast, no BS extra charges (there could have been) everything was as advertised. On the phone they were very responsive and flexible with 2 changes to my moving time and date. I compared 4 other movers and am very satisfied with my American Choice. more

Movers were on time, professional and did a great job. I moved out of an elevator building into a fourth floor walk-up and they were quick and even got my huge dining table around the turn. I will recommend American Choice Van Lines to my friends and family. Best movers I've ever had! more

They can not be called professional. I am suspicious about all the positive feedbacks written one at each following days (check the dates, start from the end and you'll know what I am talking about). My experience was very bad , read other ratings at other sites. People even have filed law suits against them. Be careful, they might attract you with discount coupons and low rates, but they will break your stuff and valuables. Do not choose them! more

I was looking for a moving company to move my daughter to NY City from the Bay Area. She only had a studio size apartment of boxes and stuff. American Choice Van Lines picked up on time and did a great job of wrapping her 46"LCD television. She only had 37 pieces to move, mostly boxes. In getting the quote, they estimated 7-14 days. American Choice followed through very well in delivering her stuff on the tenth day after pickup. The delivery men were very nice and helped set up the apartment. They were the best quote of all the movers I spoke with and they did a very job. I would use them again. more

In November, we used American Choice Van Lines to move the furniture from my Mothers estate from San Francisco to our home in Washington State. The service sounded great and we were curious to see how it would work and if everything would go smoothly. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our driver for the pick-up called to let us know he was coming and arrived right on time. He and the movers were courteous and efficient! The truck was in excellent condition and they were able to get in everything in just under 3 hours. The truck arrived at our new home about 4 days later. Once again, the driver called first and was courteous and prompt. Our furniture was in great shape and we were spared the long drive and having to pack it all ourselves. American Choice Van Lines provides a great service and is reasonably priced. My family moved from San Jose area to Washington DC in September of 2009. Every aspect of the move was not only highly professional, but pleasant as well. The agent who came out to do the estimate gave lots of very good advice. The young men who packed, and later the crew who loaded, all treated our belongings carefully and professionally. The driver touched bases with me from time to time during the long drive, to let me know where he was and when he anticipated arriving to the new house. Unfortunately on such a big move some things do go wrong. One item went missing and only 1 item was broken. Once reported, the claims people contacted us immediately, sent inspectors out within days of contacting us, and sent us a check for the items claimed within a week of the inspectors' report. I didn’t have a lot of experience with movers and packers because I moved into my first furnished apartment right out of my dorm room so I didn’t really have a lot of stuff that I had shift and since a friend of mine had a pickup things were taken care of. So when I had to move from San Jose to Chicago I was frantic because I had never hired the services of movers. So even though American Choice Van Lines was highly recommended by my friends I was very skeptical. I didn’t know if they would handle my things carefully and if they would manage to deliver my things on time. But they made life very simple for me; they did the packing, picked up my things on the designated day and delivered them on time. I don’t know if I will be moving again but if I do it will only be American Choice Van Lines for me. more
