Will never use this company again! Had cabinets installed. No follow up and extremely poor installation. Took over a month to get job completed and then had to call others to complete job. Existing cabinets just ripped out causing damage to walls and ceiling. Would not recommend American carpets work! Seems like nobody in charge..just want your money more

We bought cabinets, granite and tile for our kitchen. The salesperson was knowledgable the installers were outstanding and the package pricing was a huge savings over other stores estimates. more

This company is terrible. Will never ever by from them again. We have remodeled many homes and have installed many types of flooring. Our salesman misrepresented their wood flooring product which we paid over $3,000 for . Because it was ""special order"" no refund would be given. He lied to us, would not even swap for the correct type of wood flooring (which I specifically asked for initially) and offered no help after the sale. He even blamed me for the problem and kept referring to me as ""sweetheart"" like I'm an idiot woman. Ladies don't buy from these people! Don't believe me, ask around from those in the business of remodeling what they think of American Carpets. more

Had a wonderful time with my saleperson picking out my carpet. He help me to understand the different types of carpet and what would work best for my household.\r When installation started they were on time and very courteous. We had hardwood installed in our home. The whole process of meeting with Rob Williams inside, finding what we want, negotiating a price and all the way through the installation went smoothly. Their installer, Chris, was a hard worker who stayed with the job even up to 9:30 PM one night to get it finished. We were very impressed. We went with the bamboo floating hardwood and so far have been very satisfied with the look and quality of the wood. Pros: Always professional service more

My husband and I bought hardwood flooring from American Carpets in July 2008. In February 2009 it began to seperate along the boards in the middle of our floor. When we signed our contract with them we were under the impression that the flooring would be glued to our slab. Instead they wrote the contract to float the floor. Their installers left alot to be desired. After the split occurred, we contacted American Carpets and were told they wanted to make the customer happy. Needlessly I am not happy. Instead of coming in and gluing the flooring to our slab, which would have fixed the problem they did a patch job and said they would do nothing else. I know this patch job wi\r th a piece of t-molding in the doorway between our foyer and family room is probably not going to work. This simply give them time for the warranty to run out. If anyone out there is looking for new flooring, please DO NOT USE AMERICAN CARPETS. After spending $11,300.00 of our hard earned money with them we were treated rudely and also were expected to be happy with a patch job.\r \r They led us to believe if there were any problems they would work with us. Instead we were told they would not honor our verbal agreement with their sales representative. Cons: They do not work well with customers more

I am a rental manager in the gulf shores area i was giving the task of finding a local flooring dealer to service our units. A friend recomended i go see shannon williams at american carpets so i did. The service was great he made it so easy for a task i had really not looked forward to. I enjoyed his company and the service was bar none the best,. If you have any flooring needs i would not shop anywhere else!! Pros: expert advice honest Cons: none! more

I have made four separate purchases from American Carpets of the past nine years and have been\r very pleased with each one. I have had them install the product (carpet) on several occasions and\r have purchased tile and related material from them and installed it myself. I have shopped at other\r flooring stores, including Lowes and Home Depot. American Carpets has always come through\r with the best price and customer service that other can?t or will not match. It?s nice to see familiar\r faces when you return, and get the opportunity to speak with the owner. more

The staff at american carpets was a very helpful and knowledgeable resource to help me get the job done. They went out of their way to make sure i was taken care of. I had recently purchased about $2700 in carpet from American carpets. I returned the next week to purchase laminate floor for two large rooms. I picked out real wood and didnt know it until the purchase was completeing. I was ensured this would be better, even after I told the saleperson that my husband and I would install it ourselves (first timers). I took it home and my husband informed me we could not put it down due to skill needed and the construction of the floorboards in our home. American Carpets would not give me my money back without chargeing me a 20% restocking fee ($689). This was unbelieveable. We were forced to pick a laminate floor from them that I didnt really want. We can not afford to give away over $600. I had intended on getting a kitchen floor from them, but now I would never buy anything from there and would warn other customers to beware. more

I have 3 rental homes in Mobile. Recently I had a tenant move out after five years in the same house. I was recommended to go to American carpets. I think more because of all the advertising. My wife handled it because I work out of town. She was told it would be installed Thursday. It was not. She contacted the Manager at the Beltline store. He Promised it would be done Friday. After waiting most of the day my wife called and the Manager said I forgot to call you, they are not going to make it today either. They might be able to install it Monday but I am unsure about that too. We cancelled our order and was told that we would not get a refund??? We were promised installation and they did not deliver. Maybe they should spend less money on advertising and more on installation! more
