I SUGGEST YOU OPEN A DAY SPA! My daughters and I spent a delightful time getting our nails and hair done at Amber Renee Salon last week at different times, however, to accommodate our busy schedules. Today is Mother's Day and my family and I just arrived home from an 8-Day Western Caribbean Cruise to celebrate Mother's Day in addition to my twins graduation from high school. I wanted family portraits and we wanted to look our best and after consulting with Amber, she suggested fresh and stylish hairstyles which was exactly what we needed, our present styles being truly outdated. We are Brazilian and have very thick, long and fuller hair. My daughters had their hair trimmed a few inches and this was the first time they chose different hairstyles which complimented both of them. They looked totally incredible and amazingly different, my husband and I almost left speechless. I also had a few inches of hair cut of which we will donate our healthy hair to those in need with Amber's help. My hair length after the cut was slightly above my mid-back, perfect for my height of 5'11"". Plus, we colored my hair a ""Chocolate Cherry"", the color looking very natural for my skin tone and bolder Brazilian facial features. My hair made me feel and look ten+ years younger. My husband fell in love with me all over again and WOW did the flame rekindle on the cruise! Amanda also gave me a pedicure and our daughter's nails were gorgeous. Before I left Amber Renee Salon, I bought bracelets for each of us to accessorize our formal wear for the portraits. Amber supplied me with some necessary hair products including a new Organic Scalp and Hair Treatment. Needless to say, my family portraits are the most beautiful ever and exactly my dream come true. My daughters looked so mature and beautiful as they becoming young women. ""Thank You"" Amber, and Amber Renee Salon for your talent, creativity, and professionalism, and your sincerity in getting it right for us. Your staff was always smiling and very happy to service our needs. My daughters only have good words for the salon and they are recommending you to their friends, as will I. You already have the finest services in the Salt Lake Valley, have you considered opening a day spa? I'll be first at your door when you do, so give us more of what we like most! more

I've been to this salon a few times and they are always willing to fix their mistakes to at least make my hair presentable by the time i leave. Granted, it does take them about three hours to do so. I've been pushed into the newest ""Hip Styles"" that i hate more often than not when i go there. I've had several of the stylists and Brooke is the only one who will actually LISTEN to what you want. I wanted a color and trim and the color was splotchy with spots of my old color peaking through and my half inch trim ended up being five inches. I am so upset, i will never be back and i will definitely be telling my friends to switch too. What a joke. My hair looks ridiculous. It used to be beautiful and half way down my back. Now it looks like the awkward regrowth stage between short and long. Thank you so much Amber Rene Salon for royally screwing up my hair. i can assure you that all of the tries i have given you this was the most disappointing. I guess when you aren't satisfied the first time you're stupid to go back, won't be making that mistake again. \r more

Absolutely my favorite hair salon ever! My family has had Amber the owner cutting their hair for about 6 years. I am beyond amazed with the salon! All of the girls that work there are happy, energetic, nice, friendly, and know exactly what they are doing! The owner has been working for herself for a number of years and knows exactly what she is doing! There is not one negative thing that I could say about the salon! Everyone there is very friendly and they are just all happy to have your business. I would always recommend this salon to anyone women, man, or kid who is looking for a hair cut! more

Finally went to Amber Rene Salon since my family has raved about them for years. I used to go to Supercuts because I am a guy and guys don't need stylists right? Wrong. After suffering through another haircut at Supercuts where unless they are shaving your head you might be in danger, I took the plunge and scheduled an appointment with Amber. And I couldn't be happier. I arrived to a comfortable relaxing environment where everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Best of all I got a great haircut. Since, I have received several compliments on my hair which hasn't happened in.... well....a long time. And now I know why Amber came so highly recommended! So now I recommend Amber Rene Salon to everyone I know. It is hard to put any stock in reviews because any Blowhard with an agenda can write a review. But I am a real customer who had a great experience and if you email me I would love to tell you more! more

The women here do nothing for Sandy's reputation. They're catty, gossipy, and mini megalomaniacs in training. The owner, Amber, doesn't understand the concept of customer service in the slightest -- she's short, rude, and holier-than-thou when you're forced to interact with her. Under her critical eye, you will feel two feet tall. I understand that owning a salon is an accomplishment, but it isn't so much that she should treat other human beings like they're dirt beneath her feet. I can't think of any accomplishment that affords someone the right to treat people so poorly. While at the salon, you will experience a multitude of uncomfortable workplace dramas and gossip originating from the owner herself more often than not. It's incredibly unprofessional and an experience that mature adults would do well to avoid. The workplace itself is full of misogyny and lacking in sisterhood. Where good female relations and bonding should be, it seems a gladiatorial competition for clients and ego boosts has replaced any positivity. It's disgusting. I really dislike this place for its perpetuation of negative female stereotypes more than the service itself. A good environment is integral to a salon, though. Having been able to glean this from only two visits, I'd say long-term customers are either oblivious to the negativity or simply retain low standards. more

I finally made it out after 2 hours and want to warn everyone that Julie takes SOOOOO long to do nails that you need to clear your whole day if you plan on getting your nails done. A nail appointment should take an hour at the most, but not with Julie. What makes it even worse is I had to sit there and listen to all the girls gossiping about each other and the owner being fake to everyone who walked in. If my hands weren't occupied, I would have considered shooting myself to end the misery of being at the Amber Rene Salon. The nail girl next to me had 2 people come and go by the time Julie finally finished and I was forced to tip her because the annoying girl at the front desk handed me a pen and stared at me to see what I was writing on the receipt. WHAT A JOKE!! Stay away from that salon and warn everyone you know about how horrible it is. It doesn't even deserve half of a star as a rating, but the website makes you choose at least one. more

I did extensive research on this company, and they have one of the highest customer satisfaction levels I've ever heard of. Very picky about my hair I have had the same person do my hair forever moved here frome back east tried others, but just landed me a new salon and will NOT BE GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. The staff was very polite. Walked through the door and was greeted with a big beautiful smile. The stylist was great and did a fantastic wash ( more like head massage) WOW asked me who and how I have had my hair done in the past, I told her and she cut it just how I like it . Would highly recomend this Salon.LOVE IT LOVE IT. Thanks everyone at Amber Rene Salon. more

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it is to visit this salon! The staff is polite, competent, and punctual. The salon itself is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. I have been a long time client and have always been very pleased with my hair. They have styled everything from my everyday cut to ""updo's"" for special events and I always leave feeling beautiful! What a great experience - if you want to feel lovely and pampered, this is the place for you!! more

This was a TRUE nightmare experience! I posted pics under the picture category of the black and grey that was still in my hair three fixes later by amber rene salon and the picture of me and my family was my hair before!! THE PICS ARE PROOF OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE! I have a ton of hair and it's long. I am not naturally blonde but I am a Sunny blonde through bleach and light color. The stylist Kelsie turned me orange orange orange all over! It was a disaster! The owner Amber came over to see how she could fix it and had another girl weave in 7N ( which is dark brown ). The second girl wove the dark brown into my newly bleached hair which was very porous and grabbed the 7N at like a level 5!! Which is almost black. Why finely weave dark brown into my newly beached hair?? I was in tears and could not believe that I walked into the salon a bright sunny blonde and left with Orange roots,dark black streaks throughout my entire head of hair. To make it worse the black made my hair look Grey (ash). I literally looked like a WITCH! My hair was almost to my elbows and healthy bright sunny blonde. They ruined my hair!! The owner Amber sent me home with one bottle of deep conditioner and a purple shampoo to wash out the remaining orange. She then told me that she would do whatever it took to get me back blonde and HAPPY. ( WHAT A LIE) She then told me that she would give me a wopping %20 off all products. What a joke!! %20??? She is still making profit off me for her and her stylist HUGE mistakes. If anything she should have given me all the deep conditioner and repair products at her cost if not free until my hair was in half way decent shape! I have a ton of hair and my porous newly damaged hair sucked it up in a few uses. After wearing a hat for a week I went back in and Amber wove bleach through my hair breaking up the black. I was NO WHERE NEAR BEING BLONDE AGAIN! My hair was greenish and very dark and Ash. I went two more weeks wearing a hat and hardly leaving the house. so three weeks later Amber refused to touch my hair and said it didn't look so bad!!! SERIOUSLY!! It's impossible to fix a former sunny blonde to black and grey in one visit back to sunny blonde in one even three visits. And I know; it took 6 salon visits to get me back without all my hair falling out. Just a 1/4 of it! Another girl in the salon said she would take me and get me back blonde. She applied more bleach and we were getting closer but my hair was very very ash and had a tint of green to it. Needless to say the condition of my hair was awful! My hair was extremely damaged! Broken all around the crown 3 inches from the top of my head and DRY DRY DRY. I ended up going to another Salon and after a few visits, nearly 4 months later and a huge dent in my bank account I am happily a sunny blonde! No thanks to Amber Rene or her salon! I did everything right.... I talked to the ""receptionist"" and asked her to pair me with someone with a ton of experience and who felt confident with Blondes. The girl who started this nightmare is Kelsie who answered the phone and decided she needed the money more than having the experience and confidence to touch up the roots on a blonde. She booked me with her self when she did not have the experience. KELSIE NEVER EVER SAID I AM SORRY! I APOLOGIZE FOR DOING THIS TO YOU! NOTHING!! I THINK SHE IS JUST TOO DUMB TO MOUTH THE WORDS. AMBER NEVER APOLOGIZED FOR TURNING ME BLACK, GREY AND GREEN. SHE ONLY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THE ONE WHO DID SOMETHING WRONG AND WAS CRAZY FOR NOT LIKING MY NEW GREY AND GREEN HAIR! ""it's not so bad"" "" I don't see what your seeing"" I I I . Isn't it about me? And it was that bad! Even the girl she passed me off to Kortnee was in disbelief that Amber did to my hair what she did and thought it was any where near a pretty sunny blonde. I took pictures to document this nightmare and will try to post them on this review if I can. more

I am a long time client of Amber and have followed her to her new salon. The atmosphere is great! Very stylish and current but not over the top. The salon is also very CLEAN. The place is always busy and all of the stylists are very friendly. I can always rely on getting a haircut I'm happy with along with good friendly conversation. I look forward to my appointment every month. I'd definitely recommend Amber Rene Salon to anyone looking for a stylist/salon. more

Just like the TV sitcom ""Cheers"", Amber Rene' Salon is a place I look forward to go to after a hard day's work to enjoy a fantastic men's styling, using quality salon hair products, a soothing/relaxing scalp and neck massage, not to mention a complimentary beverage - A place where ""everyone knows your name""! (literally) - I can't say I know much about hair, but I know how I want to look and how I want to feel about myself and It starts as I walk in the salon's door - There I'm greeted by a receptionist who is busy scheduling an appointment but has the courtesy to radiantly smile and acknowledge my entrance - She knows my name, as she leaves briefly to inform my stylist I'm there - Impressive! - I begin to get comfortable and take a seat with other patrons in the waiting area and begin my journey to relaxation - The wait was short but amid the cascading waterfall in the receptionist area, I had the delight in speaking to a woman and her teenage daughter who drove all the way from Orem to have their ""do's done"" and nails manicured - They were referred by a friend who had visited the salon after it recently opened and decided to come up after seeing the salon showcased on the local morning news - Later they were going to enjoy a dinner and movie with their friend at the nearby Jordan Commons - My time has arrived and my stylist Amber comes to greet me, and my journey continues - As I walk past the other stylists busy with their customers, yes, I'm greeted by name - Everyone knows my name, Kevin, and I could not be more impressed! - They are as happy to see me as I am to see them - Wow, that's gotta make anyone feel good, let alone making a man feel right! - But I'm in Amber's hands now as she meticulously styles my hair, the style she creates will last me three weeks until my next appointment - My visit at Amber Rene' Salon was the total experience, again! - Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces, patrons and stylists alike, I can understand why this is a top-notch salon for everyone's hair needs . . . nails, too, from what I hear - A simple ""Cheers!"" (with my bottled water) to Amber for continued success with her new venture. more

This salon is a JOKE! First off when I made my apt I spoke with someone who was rude and short with me. I should have taken it as a sign to stay away! When I walked in the door I was eventually greeted by a gum smacking stylist who ignored me for about a minute leaving me standing at the front counter.( I really should have left then!) more

I love this new Salon. The people are friendly and do an awesome job. I always get compliments after my visit. Everyone asks me who does my hair so I finally took some business cards with me and I hand them out to everyone that asks. Try it for yourself you won't be sorry. All of the girls are excellent and the Salon is beautiful. more

I have been going to Amber Rene Salon since they've opened and always have my hair styled and cut by Alicia, everyone calls her ""Eby"". She's the absolute best!!! Not only do I feel amazing after my hair is finished, while I'm there we have the best conversations! The girls are truly wonderful, all with an incredibly uplifting and upbeat demeanor. This salon is by far the best in town and I know that once you experience the service offered by this establishment, you will never go anywhere else! Thank you Amber Rene Salon! more

My usual stylist is moving out of state soon, so I've been in a panic about finding a new one. We all know how it goes - you have to endure 5 horrible cuts before finding ""the one."" I saw an ad for Amber Rene Salon and since I hadn't heard of it, figured it was new (it is, and the inside shows.. it's gorgeous!) and it looked hip enough to try. I called the number and Amber herself picked up. +1 for customer service - she asked about my hair type, what style I was looking for, and picked out a girl she thought would work best for me. I felt pampered already. I could have walked in, but I made the appointment for the next day. I hadn't seen this place before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was greeted first by the receptionist, and then almost immediately by the stylist. They were both super friendly and seemed genuinely happy I was there. All the booths were busy, but noise was kept pretty low. I was able to chat with the stylist and once she had an idea of what I was looking for, she took me to the sink for a scalp massage that seemed to last forever - it was heaven! Once I was back in her chair, we chatted while she cut. She was funny and sweet, and I didn't feel awkward like I normally do. She finished and as I looked in the mirror, I knew I had found ""the one!"" As picky as I am, it was a relief to get it right on the first try (Amber was spot on with her suggestion). I paid a great price for a great cut and told the stylist I'd see her again in 2 weeks :) more
