I have a short commute to work and I walk on most days, but I sometimes call a cab when the weather is bad and I usually get nice drivers. This morning though, my driver was clearly and utterly displeased with the fact that he was only going to make about $7 out of the trip (not including the tip) that he started ranting about how he doesn't understand why people call for cabs when they aren't really going very far and he actually stopped when someone hitched him on the street and wanted to give a ride to them. Unbelievable! And then he said that for such a short ride, I don't have to be upset if he takes someone else along or drops me altogether. It's just about the rudest thing I've ever heard from a cab driver and I can't believe they let them act this way. I always let them know where I'm going when I call for the cab, so if they have a problem with the drive not being long enough, they should just say so right from the start, not send some driver who will rant and complain about it all the way there. Very, very upsetting! Won't ever call them again.
