I thought this place would be awesome, and my girlfriend needed insoles for her ski boots, so I went into Alpenglow to support a local business. Nice store, but man was I wrong. The gentleman who sold her the insoles this morning was great, but when we went back that night just to look around their shop, they were horrible. This was the WORST customer service I've ever had. Her boots hurt (not because of the insole), and we wanted to try on another size possibility, and they told us that she had the wrong boot for her. She mentioned that she liked the boots she had, but that it might be a size issue. They insisted that she has a wider foot, and that these boots wouldn't work. After measuring and finding out that they were wrong, we went to a shell fit to see if the boots were too small. After we tried a shell fit of her boot, one guy said it was too small, and the other said it was too big. They didn't even have the same concept. One guy said it should have been too big, considering the size number, then tried it out and realized that's not the case. The other guy was so stubborn and sure that the numbered size was the one to follow that he shoved his fingers in for the shell fit, and they were too tight, so he said that my girlfriend was just not pushing her foot forward in the boot enough and that the boots were too big. Her toes were touching the front, per proper shell fit protocol. I shell fitted those the first time when she first got them, and they were perfect. maybe a bit tight, but certainly not loose. All we needed was a liner bake. They were just trying to make me out to be wrong about everything. Sometimes I am, but in this case, I wasn't. They were pompous jerks. The big problem here is that they wouldn't let her explain what the issue was. Had they done that, it would have saved a lot of time and frustration. They got her a heat mold for free, and I (who brought them business in the AM) couldn't get that done to my boots (unless I paid 15 bucks), because she is the one who paid for her insoles. I think that when I take her somewhere to get good knowledgeable expertise and a friendly atmosphere, I'll take her somewhere else. These guys SUCK (except for the guy this morning. Sorry, mate-you should consider raising your personal employment standards).
Pros: Tele rentals early season
Cons: Lack of knowledge paired with cocky salesmen
