Worst Customer Service in Oregon! A company with quality as good as what they do business in...Garbage! 7/1/2008

I can not believe this service. The worst customer service ever, next to Verizon. I ordered service to my new location, and instead of receiving the size of container that I ordered, they gave me a smaller, older can that would barely fit the garbage we already had from moving. They did not even give us a yard debris can, nor notified my that we were on back order for one. I thought ""no problem"" must be a mistake, and called. They did not apologize or fix the problem. Instead, they argued with me about the size. She said to me "" well it says on my computer that you have the correct size, you must be mistaken. I have been forced to do business with this company for years because of the monopoly waste disposal has in an effort to ""make things easier"". I'm sick of it. If you have the choice to decide on a new place that is not serviced by Aloha Garbage, feel lucky. After I was told that I don't know the difference in size, even though I have had the correct can for years, I was hung up on. Then, when I called to complain to the manager, She was short with me too, trying to defend the rudeness and ignorance of her staff!! A simple ""Sorry, we will take care of it would have worked!! Who trains these people?! What happened to ""the customer is always right!!"" Just because I don't have the choice of firing these incompetent hustlers, shouldn't mean they can treat me however they want!! I'm taking my complaint to the city. Pros: My garbage doesn't sit on the street for more then three weeks.... Cons: My garabe sits on the streets for three weeks!! more

poor customer service 5/31/2008

This is my first complaint here-I called Aloha Gargabe because I had not received my bill. When I called I was asked to hold. After being on hold for five minutes I hung up. Called back and said I was left on hold for five minutes. No apology was given. I think the people in the office are rude. I work in customer service and would never give the kind of poor customer service they give. I also wish they had online bill pay or over the phone pay. My bill would get there in a more timely manner. Cons: poor customer service more

i have not had a bad experience with them, it is inconvenient that there is no online bill pay therefore i do pay my bill late, but the staff is always friendly when i call to say i will get it in the mail, oh hun, i will note your account. thank you the nice lady said. i know for sure there are days that don't go my way and i am sorry if i took it out on someone else, but i also am understanding to others bad days.....so get over yourselves and try and cheer the other person up or brighten their day. you know the not so selfish way to go!! Aloha Garbage Co. is the most unprofessional, uncoperative, unamiable company I have ever encountered. I absoultely despise doing business with them at all, but under the circumstances I have to. They are the only garbage company in my area. They are not worthy of my business, because of the instances below. About 1 year ago, I seperated from my husband and moved out of our residence were we had lived for nearly 5 years. He moved also to another location. However the rental property mgmt, decided they were going to make us responsible for ridiculous and illigetiment charges for damages. They also included a bill we owed to the garbage company which was approx. $130.00. Obviously we hired an attorney to fight these disputes. In the meanwhile I had to open a new garbage account at my new residence. Aloha Garbage Co. was unwilling to open open a new one account for me until the old one was recified. I explained to them that we were disputed the charges. So I asked them if we could change the old bill to my husbands name. They would not do that either., not even after he contacted them to accept responsibilty. They we unwilling to cooperate or help me at all. Basically they did not care. So for 6 months I had no garbage service, until finally our case was resolved. For 6 months I had to drop my garbage at the dumpsters where my husband lived. It was degrading and embarrassing for me and my kids. I hope no one has to go through what I have. more

Attitude STINKS as bad as the Garbage they remove. 4/2/2008

After over 20 years of service, I just need to comment. The only reason I even rated them a one star is that the drivers that work for them usually are wonderful. However, that is where the customer service stops. I haven't had a good experience with the office staff in the 20 years I have lived here. What I have received from the office staff (customer service?), is an attitude that stinks as bad as the garbage they pick up on a hot summer day. Furthermore, they make NO effort to freshen that attitude up with new employees or customer service training. I have had reason to call them over the 20+ years I have had to have my garbage service with them. Each and every time I have called, they are unable to fix or do anything to help me. Billing incorrect? NO, I didn't understand their policy. Gone on vacation for 3 out of 4 weeks and wanting a credit? NO, You received service those weeks even if your can wasn't out, ""we"" were there still just in case you needed it. Can missed and your garbage is still full? NO, it must have been blocked or in the wrong place for our driver... or over-weight... or whatever makes it my fault AGAIN. ... Pros: Customer Service (at the office) STINKS! Cons: Drivers are very nice if you ever have an opportunity to speak to them. more

Customer service is just NOT what it should be. ... Think they believe you MUST have their service so they can treat you anyway they like. Crazy! Our Problems:: Whenever they miss your can the standard response is that it was YOUR fault. You are told they probably did empty your trash but because you compact it so much it STICKS in the can. Um, right :) But they do eventually return and retrieve your garbage, which by some sort of miracle actually DOES empty out on the second attempt. Okie Dokie. The service from Aloha garbage is just as the name implies, I know there are a lot of people who might say stop complaining but they may not have had the problems we have. Aloha garbage has missed pick ups since the day I moved in. the entire month of jan 07. and since then has miss 5 pick ups. One such example was extra aggravating because not only did the garbage not get picked up until Saturday morning, but our home owners association sent out a letter to everyone on the block complaining that our garbage was left on the curb after the scheduled tuesday pick up. If Aloha wants to move into the future and away from the ""school bus on blocks in the front yard"" image it needs a reliable sanitary waste management system not a bunch of guys working off their hang over from the $2 PBR night. more

worst service I pay for 1/4/2008

I am paying for a service that is the worst in my life I have ever seen. First it was yard waste was not being picked up. After 3 phone calls, it was picked up this last time they came around. Now it's the regular trash. I get home from work Monday, trash is still there, although everyone else on my streets was picked up. I didn't call Tuesday because it was New years day. I called Wednesday and was told they would send someone out Thursday. They again did not pick it up. I call and get an answering service and am told to call back today. I get home from work, its Friday now, and the trash is still sitting out on the street waiting. I call and tell them now I want a credit for the trash not being picked up all the times its supposed to be, and was told we will pick it up monday, and given a supervisiors name. more

If you ever want to hear those FAVORITE 4 LETTER WORDS then Aloha Garbage is the company for you! I was in making a payment on my account and there was a lady yelling and cursing when she was on the phone. I heard someone say ""Kim watch your mouth"" and the nice lady that was assisting me apologize for her foul mouth (which she was nice and polite). What company in there right mind would have such a person represent there company and call it customer service. Where do they find these people! Wouldn't you believe this same fouled mouth person was at it again the next time I came in. Due to this person I will not be in to make my monthly payments in person I will be mailing them in since they don't believe in convience (billpay, online pay etc..) Pros: One nice customer service lady so far!!! Cons: 4 letter words!!! more

I believe that what folks are talking about, is that you can not pay online at the company site. Even worse is that their PO box is located at Bales Thriftway. There you can not drop your payment off in a box like most of the other utilities. even though the staff has to go there to pick up the mail. Put a stamp on it and mail it. Then there is the issue of paying your bill prior to the date of pick up, and they don't pick it up. I dropped my bill off on Friday night after they closed. Garbage pick up was Monday morning. Too bad. They won't pick up your garbage if Monday is your pick up, even though they recognized that payment was received, unless you want to pay an extra $13.00. I have been a customer for 30 years, and this place has always been poopoo. You find much of your garbage and recycling in the raod after they have come through. Cans half emptied, recyling rules change regularly. I wish Metro would take a serious look at the business practices of this place. Their service is horrible, and we are stuck with it. I hope Kim and the rest of the staff takes time to read these comments. Pros: They pick up most of the garbage Cons: Customer service leave something to desire more

IS THIS THE SAME ALOHA GARBAGE COMPANY THAT I USE? 6/6/2007

Seems like several people have similar complaints. I haven't had any of these experiences with the garbage company, except that they didn't pick up yesterday. They did tolerate late payments for nearly a year and did not cancel me until I had not paid for about 4 months, so what are people complaining about? I finally got a paycheck and was able to reinstate service, but they didn't pick up the bags of garbage they told me to leave at the curb while waiting for my cans to be delivered. I do recall one instance in the past when my garbage was skipped for some unknown reason and they did show up to get it in reasonable time. We'll see how it goes this time. I have no idea where I'm supposed to put all that garbage while I wait this time. I checked my bank and the bill was paid and cleared 2 days before garbage day. BTW - why all the complaining about not being able to pay your bill online? I always have and always will. Just set it up and pay it and stop complaining about an inconvenience that does not exist. If your bank has billpay, just set up your garbage bill. They aren't going to refuse payment from your bank. I've always done it this way.JUST TALKED TO THEM:Here's the deal - they did not pick up my garbage, because because my payment was short $9. I paid the latest bill I had and double checked the amount. I still have to wait another week for the garbage to be picked up. more

Garbage for your Service 5/29/2007

Their service is garbage. They are not reliable and whenever they get new drivers (which seems like every few months) our whole street misses out. Repeated phone calls every week do nothing to fix the problem. Their office staff is useless and can only answer with the same scripted replies they give out each week. They have turned my household into a non-recycling home due to their poor service and our frustration. For a mere $10 more each month, we get the next size trashcan and no more headaches about recycling. We're stuck with this company and hate their business practices. My next step is to call city of Beaverton complaint line (503) 526-2665. Maybe if enough people call and complain...we can change things? The customer service is horrible. If they mistakenly charge you an extra bag fee I wouldn?t even bother trying to get your money back. Three weeks in a row now my garbage can is half full after they pick up. Apparently they don?t try very hard to get the garbage out. Worse than that the garbage truck in our area leaks some sort of hydraulic fluid when it picks up the garbage cans. We have poka-dotted oil spots running all through our neighborhood. My neighbors and I have complained several times and nothing is done. On a positive note they have never skipped my house, and they even come on holidays... Shady Business Practices 4/18/2007

Besides having horrible customer service, outdated equipment, no online/phone/other bill pay options besides checks, they have shady business practices. I sent them a check meant for my HOA last month and I sent my HOA a check meant for Aloha Garbage. My HOA sent the check back and recognized my mistake. Aloha Garbage, on the other hand, saw the check, stamped it with their endorsement and deposited it. Then they sent me a letter stating that I did not pay last months bill and they requested payment. I paid them my normal amount and they cashed that check as well. What's more funny about this is that when I called to demand a refund, they thanked me for both payments... Supposedly my refund is in the mail, but we'll have to see about that. Oh, and watch out for Key Bank because they allow checks to be deposited that are not written to those that endorse them. Pros: they pick up garbage? Cons: outdated equipment, 1 bill pay option (mail in your check), horrible customer service more

Aloha Garbage should not be in business! 4/5/2007

4/5/07 Called them when I received a $4.08 charge for will-call that I never requested. The next month they billed for $9.08 X six months plus the $4.08 saying that I had one of their cans even though I share one with my neighbor. I said why are you back billing me for seven months service that I did not receive they said since I had their can. I said if you had sent me a monthly bill just for having their ""can"" I would have immediately stopped it. They said that they will keep sending me a monthly bill for $59.52. Cons: Extremely Poor Customer Service! more
