THEY ARE A WONDERFUL BUNCH OF PEOPLE 2/2/2011

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A PAPILLON FROM ALL PETS CLUB IN WALLINGFORD... UNFORTUNATELY MY PUPPY HAD GOTTEN SICK (NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PET STORE) AND THE STAFF AT ALL PETS CLUB WAS THERE FOR ME! THEY ARE A WONDERFUL BUNCH OF PEOPLE FROM THE CASHIERS TO THE MANAGEMENT THEY ARE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH, VERY UNDERSTANDING AND FRIENDLY. I WOULD RECCOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE BECAUSE I WILL BE FOR ANYTHING THAT I MIGHT NEED! more

They were a great experience. 1/10/2011

They were a great experience. They had the puppies out so you could see them and they have a private room that you can play with them. ITs great, you get to see what the dogs are like and they get that interactive time. The people working there seem to be animal lovers PROS: Animal Loving Employees, Great Area to see dogs more

i really liked going to this store. 1/6/2011

i really liked going to this store..the fish were amazing and the puppies were well kept.im not usually a fan of puppies being sold at a pet store.but this place seemed decent i was especialy happy about he bird section..it was very impressive...the employees are very kind and will show you the animals and answer your questions and if they can not answer your questions they will ask someone like there manager.this is a great immpressive store and its clean..i recommend it!! more

This store deserves a two thumbs up! 1/4/2011

I have five dogs from this store and have never been more pleased. My oldest is 14 years old and my youngest is 9 mos. The service is impeccable and I have heard on many occasions the store referred to in comparison to a five star hotel. They are licensed and I feel more protected purchasing from professionals rather than backyard breeders. The staff is very compassionate and supportive. This store deserves a two thumbs up! more

Completely Satisfied !! 12/16/2010

I can't believe all the negative experiences I am reading about. So I thought I would share my positive experience with All Pets Club. My sister had purchased two dogs from the Wallingford location and was very happy. So it's exactly where we went to get our Pup. We just wanted a family pet and not a pedigree dog. The minute we laid eyes on our Corgi we fell in love with him. He is a gorgeous dog, and I have nothing but good things to say about the quality animal we received. When buying him he did have worms, which our vet said was completely normal for any puppies. But our vet said she was completely impressed with the puppy, seeing as she had heard horror stories from All Pets. I did call the store to let them know about our dogs worms, and the manager seem concerned, and even offered to take the puppy back. I was highly impressed. When I went to have my little guy neutered, turns out it was going to be a more intense procedure than just a simple snip. I had read about this being in the warranty, and after my little guys procedure I brought the copy of the receipt to the manager and they cut me a check to pay for the more expensive procedure! I'm sorry that these other posters have had such a bad experience, but I love All Pets. I've owned my dog 2 years now and couldn't be happier with him. He is completely healthy, has a fantastic temperament, and I've had strangers comment on how gorgeous of a Corgi he is. I am completely satisfied with All Pets and would not hesitate to purchase another dog from them again. more

Knew what I was getting myself into but.. 10/30/2010

I understood that by buying a puppy from a dog store you take a risk. I know how many feel about this but if you saw our little guy you would understand why we couldn't leave him there. He was sick when we got him, giardia, round worms, and coccidia. And when I called to let them know I got the same speech about lemon laws a blah blah, I didn't want to return my dog, I didn't even want a refund for vet costs, I just wanted them to be aware, but they were uncaring and rude. But again, I was aware of these things. The one thing that I was ""impressed"" with was that we were given a linage sheet, with our pups parents, grandparents, and the name, number and address to the breeder. Well I was curious as to how big our pup was going to get, only to find out that the address doesn't exist. The only link to the ""kennel"" is a site where people have written about how sick their dogs where. I was disgusted before, as was our vet, about how ill our dog was allowed to get while there. But this breeder thing really makes me crazy. They claim that owners should keep in touch and yada yada but these breeders, puppy mills, akc parents DONT EXISTS. This place is a complete joke. I'll never go back in there again. more

Stop shopping there! 2/6/2010

They support puppy mills. Tough statement to hear? Yes, but it's true. Pleassssssssssssse do your research. The better business bureau only gives them a C-. So if you don't believe these postings, then at least believe the BBB. I bought the sweetest little poodle there 8 years ago. He lights up every day for me. From day 1 though, he had nothing but problems. Eight years later...he gets allergy shots every 2 weeks, is on prescription food, and supplements to keep him regular. IF YOU BY FROM ALL PETS CLUB, BE PREPARED FOR A LIFETIME OF MEDICAL BILLS. They made a posting on this blog, probably to try to control the bleeding. Read it carefully because it's all lies, from the first word to the last. If you are thinking about buying a dog there, do this....turn around and go straight to Mohegan Sun and play craps because the odds are exactly the same...you end up losing. Sorry so harsh but save a little guy from petfinder instead. Cons: they support puppy mills more

Absolutely terrible 1/2/2010

I am quite late in writing a review of this ""store,"" however, felt the need to add my own information, as it does not seem that the quality of care that is shown toward these dogs, or the competence of the employees has improved at all in the last three years. more

so disappointing. 12/7/2009

When buying a puppy from a pet store as opposed to a breeder, you have to be prepared for the risks of infection and disease shared by all the puppies in the stores. I was completely prepared for this, but I wasn't ready for the extensive vet visits & bills to cure giardia parasites & double ear infections for two dogs that came home with these conditions. I wasn't ready for the store owner, Jerry, to blow me off on the phone and tell me ""thats what happens"", and that I could return the dogs or deal with it. I was seriously jaded by their claim that their dogs are from ""reputable breeders"". Unfortunately, I chose to do my research AFTER purchase, and discovered that the breeder they claim to use is actual a puppy mill that houses over 1,000 puppies. Any place with employees, and more than a few litters at a time, is a MILL, not a breeder. It breaks my heart to think I contributed to this practice without even knowing it. We have since encouraged all our friends & family to stay away from All Pets Club. So far, everyone has taken their business elsewhere except for one friend. Her dog came home with pnemonia. Pros: appears clean, friendly staff Cons: sick animals, uses puppy mills, don't take responsibility. more

PUPPIES ARE NOT PEOPLE 9/15/2009

ALL PETS CLUB continues to validate their business practice by saying all living things die. That they can not predicted the life span of their puppies. Gerry himself thinks it is the Vets that care for his purchased sick puppies that are to blame. When you first realize that you puppy or dog is sick. It can becomes a guessing game at what is wrong. These animals can not tells us how they are feeling. They are puppies not people. We as their owners have to become their advocates. It is up to us to make sure they get the care they deserve and also make the decision when it has been enough. My dog of two years that was purchased at All Pets Club died a painful and horrible death. I think back to his last two weeks of life and it breaks my heart. I know I did everything possible to save his life, open heart surgery and dialysis. I had minutes to make these decisions to save our little boy. I have learned a lot about the pet store business and commercial breeders. I have since purchased a new 15 month old dog from a respectable breeder. I did my research before I made my decision. I urge everyone to do the same. The only thing you gain from purchasing a puppy from a pet store is convenience. The price you pay later financially and emotionally is not worth it. Here is a test.... go to a few pet stores that sell puppies. Write down who the breeder is and where the puppy came from. This must be posted the cages. Go home and google the breeders. You will be pretty disgusted to see the FDA inspection reports on these so called breeders. more

Promotes Puppy Mills! 9/11/2009

I really don't think that you should be allowed to ""up"" your rating here by giving yourself 5 stars. I'm sure every store owner would love to do the same thing but it seems to me that you should be disallowed from leaving any rating at all, as you are the owner and all you are capable of leaving is a biased rating. I do believe, though, that you should visit quite often to read the honest and unbiased ratings placed by your patrons. It should be eye-opening. Pros: If anything, decent variety of pet supplies Cons: Should not be selling live animals of any kind more

this place is a joke 8/12/2009

i have been to many stores but this place takes the cake from stuck up to stubborn. they have poor attitudes id rather head to wal mart then all pets club at least there you get a smile. those might be usda approved kennels but they are kennels full of many dogs a breeder breeds one not many thats why those dogs are sick the usda website explains it all. your all about money not the customer your a poor excuse for a family store. a family store you walk in asnd they know who you are not what can i sell to you. more

DONT BUY FISH and SMALL ANIMALS 3/17/2009

I own a 75 gallon tank full of quite expensive African Cichlids and A abino frog. I got fish from all pets club and now all my fish are dying from skin r o t and the medicine isn't helping one bit. My frog is already dead. Also my bunny, Lenore died after 6 months after buying her. I took excellent care of her. She wasn't getting pregnent and she I suspect she was always sick. more

Need Qualified Puppy Handlers in All Pets Club 12/6/2008

This store manager needs to hire qualified animal lovers in it's pet puppy department. Puppies are not handled in the correct manner and may develop problems as they grow from mis-handling from inexperienced personel. I witnessed puppies being tossed when a rug had to be cleaned. This can cause seizures, broken bones and more. The attendant probably didn't like the cleaning job. The puppies were trembling and hid together when they saw him re-enter the show window. This disgusting scene has been reported by several witnesses. more

Sick puppy!! 8/18/2008

I bought my beautiful puppy from this store about two weeks ago. In that two week time period, she has been diagnosed with a stomach parasite and now has kennel cough. When I called the store, all they did was request her test results and stated she probably contracted kennel cough at the vet from other dogs! Pros: A large variety of animals Cons: Sick puppies, employees are not helpful in resolving the issue more

Rude People, Pets that are not what they claim 7/25/2008

I used to go to this store before it became all pets club...when it was one stop! Before they sold dogs, they had a nice store with nice people, as soon as they expanded to All pets and began to sell dogs, their customer service as well as quality went completely downhill. I went to pick up a boston terrier I had ordered before she was born....while we were there, they tried to sell my friend a supposed rottweiler puppy that had long hair! I told my friend dont go for it, that puppy is most likely a mix....thank god she didnt buy it, but I had already paid & preordered my boston terrier. Needless to say, years down the road, my vet suspects she is a puppy mill dog from her papers we received...not to mention that she has aggression problems and a scar tissue tumor on her heart. The people are also VERY rude at this store. The cashiers act like they dont want to work, the boys on the floor run from you when they see you coming to ask a question and the cashier even forgot to put some of my purchases in the bag! I went all the way home, and back again and argued with the cashier. They had the nerve to not give my my items I just purchased claiming that I must have misplaced it....well about 5 of my items were missing, I have a clean car and never even got out of the car to lose the bag! I went from the store, to my home, realized in my car in the driveway and went back immediately...NO BAG, NO ITEMS and they dont care. Pros: lots of items available Cons: pricey, rude people, workers with attitudes, sick pets, they tell you what you want to hear about the pet-not the truth about the pet. more

do not buy puppies from all pet's club! 5/15/2008

SO! what started out great to expand mine and my boyfriend's little family ended up putting us in about $2000 of medical bills plus!! We purchased Maggie May, our beautiful 3 month old weimaraner in april 2008. We bought allllllll the stuff they recommened and used on her (INCLUDING THE FOOD!) So we brought her to our vet (the vet we use for our other dog, a black lab). Sooo she had gardia when she was at all pets club and they said she was cured from it a week before we brought her home. TURNS OUT! She STILL had a severe case of it! Not only did she have kennel cough, BUT a yeast infection in her ear.. My vet informed me that puppies that young SHOULD NOT have a yeast infection and it is very very uncommon. Two days later after her first vet check up I came home from work and let her out of her cage.. took one look at her and saw her nose was about the size of a baseball with little pimple bumble looking things on it! I imediatly called the vet and they told me to come right in... TURNS OUT.. SHE WAS ALERGIC TO THE FOOD THE PET STORE TOLD US TO BUY FOR HER AND THE FOOD THAT THEY SAID SHE HAD BEEN EATING!!! I called all pets club and asked to speak with the manager not to complain about money, but to ask why so many problems with kennel cough and the yeast infection and about her being allergic to the food they were feeding her.. Basically they gave me an attitude and said if i wanted to return the dog i could get half of my money back... I DIDNT WANT TO RETURN MY NEW BABY! I also spoke to a friend of mine who purchased a bloodhound from all pets club, this dog also had kennel cough, gardia, and the yeast infection in his ear... this is the last time i will ever purchase a dog OR ANYTHING from that store!!!! Cons: sick animals, bad customer service more

My AWFUL Experience with All Pets Club 3/21/2008

Our family purchased Gizmo, a(Japanese Chin, Poodle Mix) in 3/07. Our son was an employee of All Pets Club in Branford. This little puppy attached himself to our son.We weren't able to bring him home right away because he had kennel cough so he spent about an extra week in the store, as they had to wait for the next visit from their vet to give him a clean bill of health. When we did bring him home he still had kennel cough We kept the vet that APC uses believing that would be the best thing for Gizmo as a new home was enough of a change. He loves to play in or yard. Gizmo cried alot for the 1st few months, the vet said he wasn't used to exercise & has sore muscles. 6/07 he tried to jump on our bed and fell. The Animal Hospital did xrays & prescribed pain meds. They said Giz would be ok, but they saw something in the xray in his spine that he would probably grow out of,all visit info was forwarded to his regular vet & once reviewed she would call us. We got a call from the regular vet who asked how Giz was doing since the fall. He was ok & taking the meds. In 11/07, I decided to change vets because Giz began falling while walking, & dragging his back legs, I took him to a new vet, Gizmo was becoming paralyzed, the vet referred me to a neurologist in Shelton, who said Giz as missing a bone in his neck. Without this bone he began damaging his spinal cord (causing the pain)the 2 bones on either side of the missing bone are pinching it & it could be severed unless stabilized by a cast or bone being implanted. I called APC to tell them they should reconsider using that breeder. The owner passed me to the store mgr & puppy mgr neither showing any concern or compassion. The store mgr compared Gizmo to a computer!! Stating when the warranty is up you pay for your own parts!! I have a pending case w/ the Att Gen. I have spoken to many families who have bought dogs from both the Branford & the Wallingford store & have had issues. Pros: looks clean Cons: animals in ill health & cust service is awful more

DO NOT!!!!!!!!!! STEP FOOT IN THIS ""CRIMINAL"" STORE 2/8/2008

I purchased God's MOST beautiful Shih-tzu. . supposedly, thoroughly checked and HEALTHY (PER THEIR VET!!!!) Just like other ""victims"", the first day I brought him to MY VET to be checked, the NIGHTMARE began! ALMOST FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS ($400.00) LATER. . . I'm STILL not sure if he's completely healthy and if there will be any long term problems. Like others, I was told ""bring the dog back!"" YEAH RIGHT. .I had fallen in LOVE with him the SECOND I held him. . which is why I paid ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR HIM! OF COURSE I WASN'T GOING TO RETURN HIM. Nor was I going to let their ""vet"" take care of him!! Why would I??? The same ""vet"" who ""checked him out and labeled him perfectly healthy!!"" He was near pneumonia status within 5 days, don't even GET me going on the intestinal viruses (PLURAL), the fact that he eats his own feces (a LEARNED behavior during his baby-hood). . .THEY REFUSED to reimburse me EVEN ONE PENNY (not EVEN a store credit) because ""I could have used their ""VET"" (I use the term vet loosely!). . . STAY FAR FAR FAR FAR AWAY. . . .THEY SHOUD BE SHUT DOWN!!!! Pros: NON Cons: THEY EXIST more
