We had a great experience with Mr. Drain Plumbing from start to finish. plumber arrived at our house. He was so friendly and helpful. He did his best to explain everything to me in a way that would make sense, as I know little to nothing about plumbing, and gave us good advice for keeping the job as low-cost as possible. The work was done very professionally and meticulously and he cleaned everything up perfectly. Thanks! more

Superior Service 4/8/2011

Very professional - installed a new water heater and rebuilt 3 toilets and replaced a valve on my kitchen faucet - all in about 3 hours. Left the work area clean and neat. Priced a little high, but worth it! more

Andersons Plumbing H & AC - hoorah! 3/30/2011

We have used Andersons service since they installed our furnace and air conditioner about 10 years. They installed an efficient unit, added new ducts to the house that reduced our 'energy use' bills significantly. Their service technicians (most recently Katy Frausto) have been punctual, polite, efficient and sensitive to repairs or upgrades that could keep the unit working well. Andersons have taken care of us well and we greatly appreciate their service. more

Katy is absolutely the BEST technician! She was polite, so knowledgeable, and efficient. She welcomed my husband's observation of her work and even located a couple parts problems with the heater (which is still under warranty) so she ordered them and then did the installation. Once again using Anderson Pluming Heating & Air has been a great experience. Both the gal who answered the phone and James who arrived on time (about 45 minutes from my call). Were super efficient and friendly. Anderson had been nice enough to send me a $50 service card and that was much appreciated. It's nice to learn that Anderson does have service personnel based in North San Diego County. Will be calling Anderson every time I need Plumbing Heating or Air service. Thanks again !! more

The technician arrived as scheduled, did a very professional installation, had a clean appearance and was very knowledgeable and courteous. I am most satisfied with Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing's follow up. 1/6/2011

I had a problem at the house where the pipes would bang when we turned off the water because they were vibrating in the wall. Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing had someone come out, and he did a really good job. He fixed the pipe issue. The only thing is that it would be better if they gave smaller windows of time for the service. They told me they would be here between 2 and 6 P.M. I had to take vacation time from work in order to be home, and the plumber didn't show up until 6:45. I wouldn't have had to take the time off. Also, because he showed up so late he couldn't do the work that day, and I had to take another emergency day off of work. I think overall though they did do a good job. They fixed the banging of the pipes, though now there is random unprovoked banging in the middle of the night. I followed up with them this week, and they sent the plumber back to see what the other issues are about. They guarantee their work for a long time, and it was no charge to follow up. They really are responsive, and that is why I gave them high marks. They stand by their work. Most plumbers won't come back to check and see if it was something they did that causes another problem, but Mary Jean Anderson followed up when there was an issue. more

I called Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing in an emergency. I saw their commercial on TV, and they seemed like a family-friendly company. I wanted to give them a try because they seemed to be a well-structured company. I decided to let them clean the drains, and everything was very satisfactory. The service representatives were very nice, and everybody I encountered with their plumbing division was very friendly. I like it when companies are friendly, personable, and react to my needs right away, so I was very happy with Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing. It was my first time using them. They took extra steps to protect my home. If they came inside they wore protective footing in order to not mess up the floors. They also give satisfaction guaranteed, so that if there is a problem their customers do not have to double pay. They are an all around good company. more

Wonderful and easy experience. 12/7/2010

I was very impressed with Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air and will definitely use them again. They were the 5th company I called and the only people that actually seemed interested in the work. They asked for my name and address and said "Let's see what we can do." Other companies did not even ask for my name or address. They rotored out my drain line from the kitchen sink. The man who came out was perfect. He fixed the work I had done and was very helpful. He explained to me what he was doing while he was doing it. He gave me options as well as advice and said he would give me quotes for some other work I wanted to do. He even put booties on to walk across my floor, which was a step above as far as service goes. I definitely recommend them. more

$99.00 Ripoff 12/7/2010

I called Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air to my condo in San Marcos to clear a blocked drain. They had a special they clear most drains for $99.00. I had an upstairs sink and toilet that were pluggged. These did not qualify for the $99.00, it was going to cost $680.00 to clear them! Yes that right $680.00. I said no thank you and had to pay them $42.50 for trying to rip me off. I then called Affordable plumbing who came out and fixed the problem, check all of my other drains and only charged me $118.00. I wonder how many other they have ripped off. RESPONSE FROM Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air: Thank you to Customer Lobby for providing a service where the customer can express their opinions and comment on our service. I truly believe in this process and the integrity your review site offers both the customer and the service provider. As crazy as it sounds I appreciate and thank this customer for expressing their dissatisfaction on the service we provided. Negative comments are as valued as those that are positive. They give us the opportunity to look and our business and the service we provide from the customers view and make necessary improvements to avoid a repeat of their situation. Any complaint is our opportunity for us to improve every aspect of the way we do business. We have a 100 satisfaction guarantee therefore; we will return the diagnostic fee of $42 to this customer.
From my research, I found that the person that booked this call was present at the time of service was the tenant but represented herself as the owner during the phone call to the office and upon our technicians arrival. It was not until the technician gave her a price that she said she was the tenant and had to call the owner for approval. This was a 3 story condo with the stoppages being on the 3rd floor. There were three separate drain stoppages and no clean outs. The first was a Lav sink stoppage and we would need to remove p-trap, waste and overflow and snake the line to clear. The second was a separate toilet stoppage where we would need to auger toilet with 2nd option of possibly pulling the toilet due to the massive amounts of toilet paper that had been placed in the toilet. The third was an unrelated shower stoppage. At a minimum we would need 25 foot snake to attempt to clear line. The second option if unable to clear would have to be to cut drywall to access drain. None of the stoppages had cleanouts. Our $99 special must have clean out available. This was explained to the caller, (tenant) at the time this call was booked. The technician did not talk to the owner (apparently who has written this review) nor was he aware of tenant owner scenario until the price was given. We do not know what was relayed to the owner and what work was actually done. In this situation it is hard to know if we are comparing apples to apples, which stoppages were cleared by other party and if cleared properly. Did the service provider have proper insurance coverage in the event of flood or fire? We carry a 2 milion dollar policy. Do they carry workers compensation? Are all technicians drug tested, have had extensive criminal background checks, personality profile test and extensive technical training? Were they true plumbers? Do they offer true 24 hour service 7 days per week and finally do they have a 100 satisfaction guarantee. If the customer is unhappy with the service provided will their money be refunded 100 without question? Thank you for the opportunity to respond and thank you for reading our response. Rudy is clean, polite, personable, and completely dependable. 11/29/2010

I have been using Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air since about 2002 or 2003. I recently called them to say how much I appreciate Rudy, a technician there, and how I don't want any other technician sent out. 90% of my evaluation answers are because of Rudy specifically. Rudy has the utmost integrity, and, unlike most service personnel, I feel safe leaving Rudy in my home working while I do an errand. He can be completely depended on to check the system. Of course he will be able to evaluate it if it is malfunctioning, but he can also evaluate it for any potential future problems. I have come to trust him completely, which in today's society is not something I can say for most service industries. Not only is Rudy clean, polite, and personable, he always brings a white canvas runner to put on my living room carpet and hallway. I have very light carpet, and he brings that runner to protect it. He also always wears shoe covers and completely tidies up when he is done. There is never a mark anywhere. Rudy is very considerate of people and their property. more

We have been using Mary Jean Anderson for at least 8 years now. They are very courteous and very prompt. The servicemen they send out are excellent. We are very satisfied with them. Years ago, we had a problem with some broken plastic piping in our townhouse. One of the government agencies we called sent people out, and they determined that that the piping had to be replaced immediately. The cost for the repair was covered by some act, and we had Anderson do the work. We were gone for 10 days, and when we got back, the work was all done. It was like nothing ever happened. The job was done perfectly. So, years later, when we needed a furnace for our other home, we contacted Mary Jean Anderson again. We have been using them regularly ever since. Anytime we need plumbing work done in either of our homes, we go to Anderson. They are very honest and very efficient. I would recommend them to anyone. Bernard Wasserman more

I have been using Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing Heating since 2004, which I believe is then they took over from the previous owner. I had them install a new heating and air conditioning system, and they have been coming out to perform yearly maintenance since. I have also used them for some relatively small but important plumbing jobs. They are timely, both in terms of the heating and air conditioning work they have done for me as well as the plumbing. They are not the cheapest, but they do a very good job and they do it quickly. Their technicians are well trained. They are also good about explaining what they are going to do and what they have done. And, they wear those covers over their shoes that a lot companies use these days, so they do not track dirt inside. more

Some out-of-character work ethic. 11/19/2010

We had a total re-pipe for copper pipes. The people at Mary Jean Anderson Plumbing are lovely, but the quality of work was not great. We were told that some things had been done, and they hadn't really been done. There were pipes in the attic area, and we had been told that the insulation had been put on the pipes. When my husband checked, it had not been put on. There was also a hole in the wall that hadn't been re-insulated, and we ended up getting infested with ants because of it. Basically there were unexpected and unfathomable issues. If it could go wrong, it seemed to go wrong. There is now a dent in my refrigerator, and a dent on our washer and dryer. Overall it wasn't pleasant. The company itself was horrified when I brought this all to their attention. They went out of their way to give us a discount, and paid for the pest cleanup. They also paid to have our house cleaned, because they hadn't covered stuff. It was a bizarre and very unusual experience for us, and apparently the company as well. The pipes do work fine. The company did stand behind their work and did everything they could to make it right.
