Best AC Company EVER! 6/7/2010

I called Air Around the Clock since my AC wasn't working and it was crazy hot. I called at about 8am and they said they would come out that day! I couldn't believe it! Anyway, they said they would be there between 4 and 6 and they showed up at 4:30. By 5 the tech (who was super nice) had replaced the motor and the house was cool again. Thanks goodness! Too bad no stars isn't an option. We have had a service contract with this company for 10 years and are not renewing it after our recent experiences with them. We had a problem with our AC and had a technician out to fix it last week. He didn't install the part properly and we were without AC for almost a week. He returned on Saturday and explained there was a loose wire in the part he installed. He tightened the wire, without ever apologizing for his original mistake or for the inconvenience caused to us having to wait around for another service call.\r \r When we asked him to perform our scheduled maintenance since he was there anyway and the repair took all of 2 seconds he refused and begin to lose his temper. He said having to do the maintenance call was ""not fair"" to HIM (um, isn't this his job....). What about what's fair to the customer who has been inconvenienced by his ineptitude? He went on to say it was my fault because I didn't schedule the maintenance when I called to have them fix what they didn't fix the first time. I suggested that I would call the company right then to get clearance from them for him to do the work and he still refused to do it. He then stormed out of my house like a 3 year old and refused to even answer a simple question we had about our thermostat. \r \r I called his boss to complain and may as well have been speaking to a corpse. The supervisor apologized but said he would not be taking any disciplinary action against the employee. When I informed him that we will not be renewing our 10 year contract, he was completly unfazed and did nothing to try to change my mind. Air Around the Clock BE WARNED 10/31/2009

AAATC installed a brand new AC unit about one year ago, with a cost of $4000. Today had to call them for a service call, when they arrived they had to flush out a pipe. After they did that AC seemed to be working just fine 45 minutes later, water is gushing from my ceiling ( as my unit is on the second floor) Called office and a very rude receptionist, Ann Maire answers the phone with no sense of urgency getting the tech back or to direct me how to get this water to stop. When tech finally arrives, immediately begins shouting that ""this is not my fault"" Flushing the pipes again and says that on many occasions it needs to be done twice. Not sure why this was not checked. Re flushed and left, Called office again to see who was going to repair my ceiling and a very rude Eric, claiming to be the owner tells me that it is not their responsibility, only if they blew the pipe out when cleaning it, they would cover it and fix the ceiling. After turning the AC back on, another 45 minute later, another leak now in a different location. Called back to get tech back, A very kind and considerate tech responded and even mentioned that it appears that the pipe was blown out due to the pressure the previous tech used to clear out pipe. There was no way to get to this pipe and they would have to install a pump that would cost $495. The story goes on and on and you guessed it Air Around the Clock has not fixed or repaired the ceiling, wall, rugs that they ruined. My very strong advice is to find another Air Conditioning Repair company. One that has some knowledge about AC repair, that has some customer service skills and does the job that you hired them for. Extremely Poor Installation 10/10/2009

Had this company install 2 a/c units. One has worked fine for several months until today, the other has had at least a dozen service calls, left water stains on my ceiling and the technicians broke the attic entrance in my ceiling. This unit is now making terrible noises and now the second unit that had been working fine quit. When I called the company (on a Saturday afternoon) I was told it would cost me $135 for a service call even though they are less than one year old. I was then told if I called another company it would void my warranty completely. Obviously Air Around the Clock doesn't care about its reputation once they get your money. Each tech that has come out has blamed the previous one for the problems. It was a bad install of a bad unit but they won't do anything about it or about the water damage to my ceiling -DO NOT use this company for anything other than minor repairs. Pros: Always answer the phone Cons: Shoddy workmanship, each tech blames the other one more

Very Pleased 8/18/2009

I am a single mother with a young asthmatic child and my a/c went out over the weekend. When I called ATC, they had a technician out the same day, he diagnosed my problem as a capacitor, had the part on his truck, and I had air again. I am very pleased indeed, in a world where you never know who's taking advantage of a young lady these guys were awesome. I will reccomend ATC to all my friends. After reading some negative reviews I was concerned that the tech would attempt to sell me a whole AC replacement. \r \r Happily I can report that the tech (Eric) was very professional and quickly diagnosed my problem with a simple part repair. (Run capacitor to outside condensing unit) He did advise me of the fact that my AC was old enough to expect some problems in the not too distant future but there was no hard sell. \r \r I am a satisfied customer and would not hesitate to use them in the future. Great Company 5/20/2009

My a/c would not turn on when I got home from work yesterday. For a moment I panicked and then remembered the radio and tv ads for atc. I called at 6:00pm, a tech was sent out and arrived at 7:00pm. That alone told me I called the best, high quality company. My problem was so minor, I had dead batteries in my thermostat. I would like to say that in this world of poor service, it is refreshing to know there is still a company out there that does what it advertises. Pros: Great service and value more

Expensive 5/13/2009

After reading all the negative comments about ATC, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and call them for a free estimate. The lady tells me that it will cost me $175 plus parts and labor if a repair guy comes out tonight. If I wait until the morning, it will cost $85 for him to merely come to my house then the cost of parts and labor. I asked what about the free estimates advertised on the website and she said that is only for a new A/C unit. After seeing all the negative comments, I felt it was too risky to pay the guy for just showing up at my door. As my deceased Uncle George Joswick would say, ""Guy, get it right"". COMPLETE SCAM - STAY AWAY 11/3/2008

I called to have my oven repaired. I diagnosed the problem myself but did not have the part to fix it. A repair tech came to my home and agreed with me but said he did not have the part either ( the ads say the trucks are supposed to be well stocked with parts). He called his office and told me they have the part, so we rescheduled for another day. They called the day of and said they will be there that day. After making arrangements to take off work again, they cancelled saying they have to order the part and it will take ten days+. Several days later they said they have the part and scheduled a third appointment. Again, I took time off from work and they cancelled again with the exact same story. No one seems to know anything about it when I call to complain. I paid the service charge and now give up any chance of getting my money back. Customer service is a foreign language to these people. Call a smaller company--you'll be better off... Cons: Liars more

Most reliable and honest A/C company 7/17/2008

I recently came home and had no cool air blowing from my a/c unit. It is summertime in Florida and we all know what that means. I've seen tv commercials and heard ads on the radio for Air Around the Clock, so I called. I received very professional service on the phone, had an appointment set up for the same day (about 2 hours later). I thought I would be told I needed a new unit as mine is pretty old. I've heard that companies sell you stuff you don't need. When the tech showed up...(on time), he told me I didn't need a new unit at all. I needed a few parts, he had them stocked in his van, fixed the problem, cleaned up after himself and gave me a very reasonable bill. I had cold air again!!!!!!! It's nice to know there is a company out there who didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I would highly recommend Air Around the Clock to anyone who is having anything from a minor problem to needing a new unit. Thanks guys!!!! Pros: Service was great more

NOT A 24 HOUR SERVICE AS ADVERTISED 7/13/2008

My husband and I purchased a new unit less than 3 months ago from air around the clock. This included both the outside unit and the handler. Tonight was the first time I have had to call them because the air conditioner shut off. Didn't realize there was a problem until I checked the thermostat, it was 82 degrees. And the unit refused to come on at all. I called the number on the handler that is part of a sticker that says ""24 hour emergency service"" I was told that it was 905pm on a sunday night and that they are are not able to page anyone after 9pm. ???? I stayed calm and pleaded with them as I am home alone with a 5 month old infant in a very warm townhouse. No luck. They were polite the entire time, however refused to call or do anything but make a note for a tech to call me in the morning. I asked for a supervisor.... same story. Truly what is the sense in being called Air around the clock, and posting 24 hour emergency service stickers on your products if you stop answering service calls after 9pm. It is after 9pm and through the night that most people would consider an emergency in south florida if they were to have a non-functioning air conditioner. Even worse was that the dispatcher was commenting on how she could hear my daughter screaming and tried to make small talk about children.... NICE. It is RIDICULOUS that they don't offer service calls after 9 and it is even more ridiculous that my brand new air conditioner just stopped functioning. On a side note.... we found out later after we purchased our air conditioner through them that we could have saved around $600 with another company. Be careful with this company. I called air around the clock last week when my a/c broke. they sent a man to my house and in less than 30 minutes i had cold air again. they were very proffesional and courtious. Great AC Company!!! 3/28/2008

The day before yesterday, I got home from work at 8:15PM and my house was hot. My AC unit is over 20 years old, and I was planning on getting a new one within the next couple of months. I immediately called Air Around the Clock, and to my surprise, I got a live person, and not a machine. She was very nice and told me that she would call me first thing in the morning with my appointment time. I was called at 8:30AM, and was told by the Tech, that he would be there at 9:00AM. He showed up right on time, and after inspecting my old unit, he told me what I already knew ( I needed a new compressor ). I elected to have a new split-system installed. They told me that the new unit could be installed the next day. I asked the Tech to find out if it was possible to install the unit today, because it was my last day off until next week. Well, by 10:30 AM a crew of 3 men showed up with my new split-system, and everything was done in a few hours. My house never cooled off that fast in the ten years I have lived there. Every one of the people I delt with from Air Around the Clock were very nice an very professional. I would highly recommend this wonderful company!!!!! Pros: Everything more

Best AC Place in all of Florida 3/17/2008

I had a major problem with my A/C unit. It was old and completely died on me. I had called other A/C companies and was very unhappy with them. I then came across Air around the clock and would highly recommend them to everybody. They were so nice and very helpful no matter how many questions I had. They were on time and came immediately. The people who showed up to my house were very productive and cleaned up after all the work was done. There pricing is amazing as well. I didn't have to spend an arm and a leg to get another A/C Unit. The customer service women I spoke to were very helpful as well. I would def. use them again and again and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone with A/C problems. Pros: Def. and great and reliable company!!!! A++++++ more

BEST AC COMPANY IN FLORIDA!!!! 3/5/2008

I needed a new AC Unit. From the time I called them to the time they came to my house I have been nothing but happy. The people I delt with over the phone were very nice and pleasant to deal with. Whenever I had a problem the people I spoke to were always helpful and very professional. When air around the clock showed up to install my new AC unit they were very nice and answered all of my questions. They did the work they were suppossed to do and explained if I ever have any problems or conerns to always give them a call. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with AC problems. Air Around the Clock is a Rip Off 12/24/2007

I wish I had checked the reviews before asking Air Around the Clock to come to my home. I have a maintenance agreement with them and they have performed minor maintenance before so I thought of them first when I had a leak in the heat recovery pipe behind my central A/C unit; water was gushing out. My call on Christmas eve day resulted in them first saying someone would be at my home by 8:00 p.m. The I received another call from a nasty supervisor who said ""who do you want me to take away from their family to come"" even though water was pouring out of a pipe and my compressor wouldn't go on. He came himself (got there in about 15 minutes), stayed 5 minutes, did nothing but tell me to call a plumber even though the hot water recovery system is part of the air conditioning system, and he handed me a bill for $150. I told him I have a problem with paying for him doing nothing but walking out on me. He became belligerent, intimidating, yelling at his office and me, and made my 9 year old daughter cry. As a female home alone with a child, I became afraid, gave him my AMEX out of fear he my become violent but with every intention of disputing the charge. He told me he didn't give a s**t, threw the paper down and left. My neighbor's son is fixing the problem that he could have fixed. No way will I ever use them again and I'm cancelling my service contract. I know it's Christmas Eve and I don't want to inconvenience anyone but they do claim to provide service 24/7 365 days. I don't mind paying a premium for emergency service, but fix the problem. I believe he never had any intention of fixing anything and was trying to get back at me for putting in a service call on Christmas Eve day. It's not like I wanted to have this breakage. more
