Pizza Pizza 9/19/2011

Great deep dish pizza. I got hooked on Adriatico's when in college, and stop in to pick up a pizza whenever I am in the area. You are never still hungry after eating a Buckeye Pizza! more

Great New York Style Pizza 8/26/2011

My project group was having a milestone celebration and the group wanted pizza from Adriatico's. We ordered three Buckeye Pizzas with Scilian crust. (for those not in the know, the pizzas are huge and take an hour to cook) Needless to say the group loved the pizzas and no one left hungry. Adriatco's started their operations early to accommodate our order for takeout and delivered on time. This is truly customer service at its finest. KUDOs to Adriatco's staff. more

Love them and looking forward to dine with them again! 6/27/2011

This might be a biased review because I really love pizza ^_^, but then here's my side... I visited a friend in a nearby dorm a year ago and we made a stop there (yeah, she knows my affection with pizzas) I would say that they have superb service and quite excellent crispy pizza! not to mention their place are very near to drop by or just have a nice chat with a friend. My personal favorite is the Inflation Fighter and have to say I also enjoy their Chef Salad, and didn't mind for additional fee when I asked for more honey dijon mustard ^_^.. thumbs up! more

always a hit 9/23/2010

I love Adriatico's. My sister lives in Lewis Center and often specifically requests I bring Adriatico's from campus to her house. We almost always get it for family gatherings and parties for friends. Love it! more

I miss this pizza terribly :) 5/7/2010

I moved from Columbus about a year ago but every time I'm in town I try to get on campus to get an opportunity to enjoy it. I definitely recommend this establisment. Pros: Simply Delicious Pizza Cons: Parking is a bummer more

One of the Best pizzas in Town 4/12/2010

Ive been going to Adriaticos for years and still believe its one of the best in the city. Definitely need to try if you haven't already. Pros: Just great pizza. Cons: tough to park more

I USED TO MANAGE ADRIATICOS IN THE LATE 1980'S 7/16/2009

I was originally hired as a delivery driver in Fall of 1987 when I transfered to Ohio State from University of Cincinnati. There was an Adriaticos at UC also, and I think that is where the 1st restaurant was started, Jefferson Ave. The manager of Adriaticos in Columbs was a delivery driver at the Adriaticos in Cincinnati, Bill Davidson. I knew hm at UC and we partied together. When I transfered to Ohio State, I went in to get a job, and who should I see when I went in to apply but Bill Davidson! He immediately gave me a job as a driver. Bill eventually left and a few more managers came and went. One day the owner, Greg Fortney came in for what I think was a suprise visit to inspect the restaurant in Columbus. He fired the manager and asked me if I would like to become the new manager. I said, sure!\r It was at the end of the school year around June 1988. There was not a lot of business at the time because the students were all gone. There were only about 2 other employes, so I hired my best friend at the time, Mark Jobe, to be my assistant manager. I eventually hired the whole staff and most of these great people continued to work there for years. \r The pizza was always very good and we started branching out into other things like breadsticks and I think we even had spaghetti for a while. It was not a very fancy restaurant, but I knew it was the best pizza I had ever tasted and I knew it would eventually bve discovered for it's great tasting thick crust pizza. I've never found better anywhere. Pros: STILL THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD, AND I MADE IT! more

The Zoni's 1/29/2009

I discovered Adriatico's while working at the Medical Center.... the zoni's are to die for.... I'm not a fan of the campus but I will go there during any game, function or whatever just to get one. It's funny to see others try to copy...lol...they need to stop! Pros: Everything they have to offer Cons: parking and the location... more

Best Pizza on campus. 1/28/2009

This place makes great Pizza. If you want a thin NY style pizza this is not for you, The bottom of each piece has a nice crunchiness to it. The chewy breading mixes with the sauce well. The sausage has nice spice to it and are huge. 3 people would get stuffed on one. Pros: Awesome Pizza Cons: Price more

New York style pizzas they ain't! 1/7/2009

Are they seriously calling them New York style pizzas? Those thick, bready, extremely heavy, un-foldable and tasteless crusts? I would have less of a gut-wrenching reaction if they tried to pass those thick bricks as chicago-style deep dish pizzas. Their food, in my opinion, is overpriced, blend and boring, not to mention taking too dang long to make. Explain to me why it takes 45 minutes to make a half a sandwich. The only reason the place does as well as it does is thanks to its convenient location on campus. Pros: Convenient campus location for OSU students Cons: Long wait, crowded, blend boring food, thick brick of crust more

thick slabs of deliciousness 8/15/2008

If someone asks me what the best pizza in Columbus is, I quickly tell them Adriatico's (with Tommy's being a close second). Sure, it's a little pricey, but it's quite filling (especially the thick style crust). We usually order a large or a Buckeye size pepperoni and sausage pizza every week or two at work, and the end results are consistently good. My only complaint is that the sausage pieces roll right off the pepperoni a bit too easily. Hilarity ensued when a coworker tried eating a slice and the sausage rolled right into his coffee! Pros: thick crust, huge pepperoni Cons: sausage has a mind of its own, kind of pricey without coupons more

best pizza in columbus 6/13/2008

I love this place the pizza is award winning and the breadsticks are to die for! This place will always be a favorite of mine also because me and my sister shared good food and great memories there- And there are many more to go! Right sis! Pros: great food and good people Cons: parking more

Little campus pizza joint, great pizza, great service! 5/3/2008

We love this place. It's just a little campus dive, but it churns out great pizza. I work on campus and we order it often at work- they have huge 3 foot pizzas for big gatherings. The antipasto is great and the dipping sauces for the crust are good. The service was surprisingly attentive! Campus parking is often difficult. Pros: pizza, antipasto, service Cons: parking more

Best Pizza Anywhere 2/29/2008

I came here on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks into my freshman year at OSU. I was amazed at how big the pizzas are and the AWESOME taste and smells. Probably the best pizza I've ever had and have become a regular customer since. Have to order the breadsticks and the garlic butter for dipping. Definitely not figure friendly, but worth it when you are hungry! I had to come back during Winter break just to satisfy my craving! This is one place I have gladly gained my freshman 15 from! Pros: Food, Service Cons: Parking more

Best for the money 1/13/2008

It's not cheap but for the quantity and especially the quality... worth every penny. Get the Buckeye if you have six people or more. more

Best pizza in the city! 6/1/2007

Adriatico's is the best pizza east of Chicago! It's the only pizza I would be willing to navigate around campus construction, one way alleys, and threat of parking tickets to get. The thick crust is amazing; crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They sauce is sweet and has a little kick of spice. The location is small, the parking is very limited (the odds you'll be momentarily parking in a permit only space are pretty good) so I recommend carry out. The value is unbeatable! Go Monday or Tuesday and you can get a large for under 10 bucks! Pros: Best pizza in town by FAR! Great value! Cons: Nonexistent parking more

Cannot get enough when I'm in Ohio! 2/4/2007

I recently spent the holidays in Ohio and couldn't get enough of Adriatico's (I went to OSU in the early to mid 90s and became addicted then). My fiance is from Boston and claimed there was no way that Adriatico's would come close to anything he's ever had in the North End of Boston or NYC's Little Italy...luckily, he is not afraid to admit when he is wrong! Since returning to Denver, he's actually said he can't wait to go back to Columbus just for Adriatico's. I wish they would consider opening a restaurant out west, as I cannot find any pizza place that can begin to rival Adriatico's. Best pizza in the country!!! Pros: It's all about the pizza...what more can you want? Cons: Not enough locations around the country more

Don't buy the hype - inconsistencies abound 11/20/2006

before actually trying their food, all i heard from friends in the campus area was how great their buckeye pizza was. i won't lie, i was impressed by their very accomodating size. at around $20, it was perfect for larger group gatherings, however, over time, i noticed that the sauce became inconsistent, (some days it was spicy, some days it was bland, and some days it fell somewhere in between). their crust leaves something to be desired in that it is one of the greasiest i've tried (my little sister actually likes the greasiness). in addition, the quality of their meats and cheeses seem to have gone downhill. it's hard to get a table during the lunch rush. though you may find the counter and phone staff downright rude on occasion, (maybe it's part of the new york appeal), i will still recommend you at least try the buckeye. Pros: Great value on the Buckeye pizza Cons: Poor service, inconsistent crust and sauce more

User review by jalepeno 3/2/2006

If you prefer a thick crust pizza, this is the place for you. From the outside, it has little to recommend itself. Opening the door, you step up into the small room of a restaurant that clearly does most of its business through carry out. It is a casual, seat yourself, no-frills interior. The breadsticks are melt-in-your mouth doughy yumminess. (Ask for both the pizza sauce and buttery-garlic sauce). This is not a low-carb friendly dinner. The salads are basic iceberg affairs. We enjoy the thick crust pizza. The vegetarian pizzas are not watery and gooey as you can have at other establishments. Overall, this is the best pizza we've found in the city. more
