Bunch of BS 12/28/2010

Total scam the tech. came out to look at my Maytag dishwasher's broken door. First they said the part was $512.18 with express shipping. (if you notice reviewer landshark 70 also had the same quote)We agreed to get it done because the washer was leaking on the floor. The next day Amber called to say that the weather has delayed the shipment I said I would not pay the overnight fee and she agreed to credit me back. (I have already put 1/2 the payment on a visa). Amber then called me the next day to say that Maytag put the wrong part in the right box. She said she would call them and have someone pull the part and check it to make sure that it would be the right one. After 3 more days we had not heard back on the status of the part. We called Amber again she got very angry and said she had not had time to call and need to talk with Maytag herself and had no idea when the part would be shipped. We asked to speak to her manager John we were told he is not in and only comes in a few times we said we would use another company, she informed us we would still have to pay the $54.00 service. We again asked that John call us so we could resolve this. Called again the next day still no help they had not called the manufacture and John again would not call us back.Another 3 days no call. We decided to dispute the credit card charge. After 2 weeks Ashley called and said she was the parts supervisior and said the part that we needed was now in. When I informed her we no longer wanted the sevice and why had no one called us to go over our concerns 2 weeks ago she said the company had shipped 2 parts that were wrong. I told her Ashley said she was having someone at maytage check the box before they sent it out. She said she didnt know anything about that and it wasnt their fault that the maytag messed up.I really don't think the manufacture sent the wrong part 2 times. After reading more reviews on this company I know see why they do this kind of business inflating the charges by 300%. using excueses to buy time on their end. dont wast your money or time with them. more

Incompetence and Price Gouging - Not Impressed 11/21/2010

On 11/06/2010, an Action Appliance technician examined my Bosch dishwasher and diagnosed a faulty control board, and quoted me a replacement price of $512.73 incl. labor. I asked what the price of the board alone was that he was quoting, and he gave me a price of $490.56 plus tax, not including labor. I was able to locate the same board on Bosch's own website for about $270, so I bought it there and had it shipped to my house. I was charged $54.95 for the visit by the Action Appliance technician. I decided not to call Action Appliance back to install the new control board because if I was being quoted such a clearly inflated price for a part, I thought I would be similarly overcharged for labor. I then had another company come to install the control board, and it did not fix the problem. This second repair person apparently had no experience with Bosch dishwashers so was unable to diagnose the actual problem, but in any event it was NOT the control board. The following day, I had a third technician who is Bosch factory-trained check out the dishwasher. As it turned out, the problem was not the control board at all but a 'float switch' stuck in drain mode. This technician fixed the problem very quickly. The original control board worked just fine when re-installed in the dishwasher. The Action Appliance technician not only misdiagnosed the issue, but quoted me a ridiculous price for a part that wasn't even necessary. In addition he wasted a good deal of my time chasing around trying to fix a problem that wasn't there. In my opinion his visit cost me not just the $55 call out charge but an additional $270 for the part and another $120 to get another repair person out to perform the control board install which was unnecessary. I contacted Action Appliance explaining the situation and requested a refund of the $54.95 charge I paid Action Appliance for this faulty diagnosis. They told me they would refund me half that amount because they did ""perform their end of the bargain"" and come out to the house to diagnose the issue. Ridiculous. more

NO Star for Action Inc 11/15/2010

the guys suck. after 110 days my furnace fan (METAL!) ripped into pieces. No other Heating Co has ever seen this. They charged me $223 to get fixed while most likely faulty install. After first install, had to call them back, making lot of noise. They over charge, no service. Don't try to call them, you will not get anywhere or talk to anybody other than dispatch. I am going to see if I can take any legal actions. This business needs to get forced out of business!! DON""T USE THEM!! more

the guys suck. after 110 days my furnace fan (METAL!) ripped into pieces. No other Heating Co has ever seen this. They charged me $223 to get fixed while most likely faulty install. After first install, had to call them back, making lot of noise. They over charge, no service. Don't try to call them, you will not get anywhere or talk to anybody other than dispatch. I am going to see if I can take any legal actions. This business needs to get forced out of business!! DON""T USE THEM!! more
