My husband and I compared the price of every single (new) 2011 Toyota Prius in town, and the one offered at Ackerman Toyota was the lowest by far. It was significantly below the MSRP and, according to the US News and World Report's ""Best Cars and Trucks"" section, much less than what most people pay for a new 2011 Prius. I was a bit suspicious at first, thinking it *had* to be a demo car or there had to be some unpleasant surprise at the end, but the car only had eight miles on it, and the price quoted was the actual price we paid in the end.\r \r The sales part was a completely straightforward & honest process, and the salesman was very thorough about explaining how the Prius technology worked. I cannot say enough good things about the finance department; the finance manager helped us qualify for a 0.0% interest loan with Toyota Motor Credit that we did not qualify for at all on paper. Very, very nice people at the dealership. more

I have always had a good experience with Ackerman. I have used them to service my Toyota Highlander since 2006. They are always honest with me about the repairs I need and don't need. I am not a ""Car"" person so I am always scared someone is going to take advantage of that. I had a couple of tire situations where I just assumed I would have to get new 2 ones, but they were able to fix them and save me a ton of money. Which is good because I truly didn't have it at the time. Pretty fast on the service - I have been able to wait for a lot of my services in their lobby and work with their WiFi. Service Team is always very friendly to me. more

I purchased a SUV from Toyota Ackerman and I regret that I ever did. There customer service was nasty. They acted as if they didn?t acknowledge me once I enter there place of business. After having this vehicle for two days the ABS light came on and the brakes were making this loud funny noise. Took it back to them and they couldn?t find anything wrong with it. So I took it to another dealership and they found the problem. Ackerman didn?t want to cooperate until I told them that I would call my lawyer. They agreed to pay half in order to fix the problem. I had just paid cash for this vehicle and wasn?t about to dish out anymore money. About a month later I found out that it had been in a accident and the dealership told me that the car was a one car owner and hadn?t had any accident. I would never send anyone I know to them. more

I went to Toyota Ackerman to do a diagnostic test on my 2001 Corolla, since the engine light came on. 15 minutes later the guy comes back to me and says I need a new catalytic converter and that the part and labor would cost around: $1,450. My jaw dropped, I said no and I walked out dazed. The engine light was off when I pulled it out of Ackerman, though I thought they just cleared the code for the catalytic converter and that it still needed to be replaced. I called around and after finding a price of $289 for part and labor at Comb's Auto I took it in. I told them what had happened and after they did an emissions test they told me that the catalytic converter was completely fine.\r \r The guy at Ackerman told me I may experience some poor performance and engine trouble if I let the catty go. I did experience some poor performance though this was in no way related to the catalytic converter as they implied. The only thing that may be needed is a few new injectors.\r \r Moral: Toyota Ackerman tried to rip me off!!!!!!! more

i have had a great experience at ackerman their staff is very knowledgable both with toyota and scion i know two employees even own thier own scions that says alot about the product. I realize its a business and they are in it to make money but they gave me the best deal in st louis i feel that i was NOT takin advantage of but helped out with the entire process. You can get a great deal there, if you are prepared to do business, i got my best deal at Ackerman Toyota Thanks again guys! more

Although he pays a lot of local media guys to do ads for him, don't believe the hype. Instead, shop around, you'll get a better deal. I sent them e-mail asking them to beat an existing quote and was told that the quote was impossible to beat (i.e. I must be making it up) - it wasn't impossible to beat, as some other local dealers (note the plural) subsequently beat the quote by over $100. Seems to be the usual St. Louis ""city core"" attitude, don't expect any reasonable pricing from them ... Pros: (none) Cons: won't meet (or beat) price quotes more
