Review content:
I went to Toyota Ackerman to do a diagnostic test on my 2001 Corolla, since the engine light came on. 15 minutes later the guy comes back to me and says I need a new catalytic converter and that the part and labor would cost around: $1,450. My jaw dropped, I said no and I walked out dazed. The engine light was off when I pulled it out of Ackerman, though I thought they just cleared the code for the catalytic converter and that it still needed to be replaced. I called around and after finding a price of $289 for part and labor at Comb's Auto I took it in. I told them what had happened and after they did an emissions test they told me that the catalytic converter was completely fine.\r \r The guy at Ackerman told me I may experience some poor performance and engine trouble if I let the catty go. I did experience some poor performance though this was in no way related to the catalytic converter as they implied. The only thing that may be needed is a few new injectors.\r \r Moral: Toyota Ackerman tried to rip me off!!!!!!!
