I had a problem with my fridge and ACE Appliance came out the same day I called and they fixed my problem on the spot. more

They moved. Now they are in Plantsville. I have never used them to repair anything but have been buying parts from them for over 30 years. Parts are expensive but they usually have them in stock and they are no more expensive than their competitors. I am sure that the people that wrote the complaints do not work for free and I do not understand why they think the folks at Ace should. If you figure it's going to take an hour to go to your home and then back to their place of business $85 seems reasonable. Especially considering the cost of fuel. The counter folks I have dealt with are knowledgeable and have never hesitated to answer questions or give advise. Of course part of their business is to repair appliance not teach you how so I would not expect detailed instructions. The service department at BMW of North Haven is a palace and you pay accordingly. Ace Appliance isn't and you don't. Do you really care what the place looks like? Wow am I glad I read the reports here for Ace Appliance. I went there to get an estimate on replacing a spring on a dishwasher door. Gal told me $85.00 to ring my doorbell and then they would estimate. Well....the spring costs $14.00 on the internet, my doorbell isnt worth $10 (neverming $85), and I assume that the repair cost was gonna be outlandish. (hmmmm....don't these folks repair dishwashers ? Can't they give me an estimate before coming to our home) ??? Stay Away !!!! Cons: rip off more

If the owners of this company have the nerve to leave that horrible building with spray paint and boarded doors on the corner of 322 and meriden ave for the rest of us to look at...they don't deserve this towns business! I HAD A BROKEN REFRIG JUST RECENTLY, THEY SENT A YOUNG MAN OUT THAT FIXED MY REFRIGERATOR AND SAVED MY FOOD. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS OF JUST BOUGHT MEATS AND FROZEN FOOD. LIVING ON A FIXED BUDGET I AM ALWAYS WATCHING MY LOOT!. THE BILL WAS VERY INEXPENSIVE .IT WAS FIXED IN A PROMPT MANNER, CURTIOUS TECHNICIAN,THE SERVICE HASN'T CHANGED IN ALL THIS TIME. JUST THE FACES THAT COME TO MY HOUSE ARE YOUNGER, WITH MORE KNOLEDGE... They actually lied and changed service dates to try and get out of their warranty. Do not call these people. I paid $300 for a part that cost $7.00 and 5 minutes of time. Less than 90 days later they changed there paperwork to charge me again, but my checkbook told the truth. more

We called Ace Appliance to hook up our new gas stove and fix the broken door strike on our dishwasher. They charged $100 for the initial service call but weren't able to do anything and wouldn't apply it to the actual repair. The repair man said our stove hookup required a special part. The part plus labor would cost an additional $260. The estimate for the dishwasher repair was $180. All together, it would have cost $540. We called a plumber for the stove instead. He had the necessary part in his truck and hooked up the stove in 40min for a cost of $130. For the dishwasher, my husband ordered the $6 part online and fixed it himself in 20 min with a wrench and a screwdriver. All in all, Ace appears to be a true rip-off. more
