Accent Properties

This will be the 3rd year to reluctantly lease from this company. Maintenance quality is lacking, timeliness is unreliable and disrespectful of tenants. The property manager never returns communication timely. Payments are required by the 1st or outrageous fees(120.00 late fee) are attached to the monthly rent. No online bill pay! checks are only accepted 1st - 3rd of the month then you must spend more $ for a cashiers check! After current lease is over, I will never rent from the company again and would strongly advise others considering renting from them to keep looking for something better. more

My family has been renting from Accent Properties for almost 3 years now and have found them to be most reliable. We recently had our A/C go out over the weekend and they had someone out on Sunday to keep it running until it could be replaced on Monday. Would highly recommend Accent Properties to rent from. more

POOR service to tenants! Took almost 2 years of requesting to get someone to verify we live in our complex so we could have a pool pass. Lease renewal cannot seemed to be prepared on time. We pay our rent on time, we have NEVER bounced a check, we are not "problem tenants" but the one time we asked to speak to the owner, he treated us as if we were scum! Never let us finish a sentence, insulted us, yelled (not raised voice- yelled) at us. The property OWNER called us to apologize for THEM! He was appalled at how they treated us! Avoid them...they are not worth the headache! more

Good: Nice little house; however, could never get maintenance performed promptly or properly. Had to threaten moving to get owner to replace existing carpet after leasing agent agreed to doing if cleaning did not correct problem.. Bad: Maintenance is far from perfect. I leased the house for 2 yrs and asked the entire time to have some blinds replaced due to the fact they would not go up or down. I also asked to have the vertical blind in the greatrooom replaced because some of the panels were missing. The maintenance guy brought some extra panels to the house which were too long & left them in my floor. I cut the panels myself & hung them so people could not see inside the house. He only replaced 1 blind.. Improvements: Make sure agents are qualified to see that problems are handled properly & promptly. The agent that originally leased the property to us was eventually fired due to problems at multiple properties.. Other: Also, had problem with towel rack coming off wall & handle on tub in the m/bath. I placed calls to office to have them repaired which never happened. I had a problem w/range. I put my own range in house & was told by agent that she would have it removed. It was removed from garage which I assumed was done by agent since she had remote to house. In retrospect, I am now being charged for these items that I continually asked to be repaired/replaced. Would not recommend renting from Accent at all.. more

My partner and I have been renting our home from Accent Properties since we moved to Jacksonville in May'05. Since the house was brand-new there were a number of small defects that we, as the first occupants, noticed. Each defect was resolved by Accent almost immediately after being reported. These ranged in complexity from a broken kitchen cabinet and a broken sprinkler head to a whole series of cracks in our shower enclosure due to the vibrations of ongoing construction next door. We have found Accent to be highly responsive to our questions. more
