Absolutely Spotless

Terrible company and strongly suggest avoiding. They were prompt to come to house and evaluate a mold remediation. They committed to having the results within 48-72 hours which was required in order to complete sale closing requirements. Multiple phone calls and voice messages were left on several phone number (not kidding!!!) listed on the invoice. Finally a representative called back thinking it was a new job...and basically said the result are provided when available and did not care what the first representative committed to. It cost $1650.00 but the results were no longer needed as as I hired another remediation company come in to test and take care of the problem. more

I received such wonderful service from Absolutely Spotless. I have been dealing with a very difficult landlord for years, and when I was faced with the most serious of problems (mold in my town house) I knew I should find someone professional who could help persuade my landlord to take care of the problem. I looked online and called Absolutely Spotless and they sent out a mold inspector the same day. Eric was very sympathetic to my problem and his inspection was very thorough. When the lab results came back, the owner Robert called me and confirmed what I had thought. I was getting sick from the mold in the air. The very detailed report that he then sent me; along with the lab results were persuasive enough to convince my landlord to fix the problem. These people are so professional and I am so happy with them. Thank you again for all of your help! more

Do NOT let Absolutely Spotless into your house - they are scammers, plain and simple. Their business model is as follows: charge outrageous fees for tests you don't need, all while telling customers that money can go to services rendered. But wait, there's just one catch: the estimate for services will be so high that you will never hire them to do the work - and they pocket a fee that most legitimate companies would charge for actual remediation services. My wife and I made the mistake of having them conduct a visual inspection ($250) and two tests ($350 each) - by the way, $350 was supposed to be the total amount charged for testing, as per our phone conversation - they tried to rope us into paying for additional ones, but we stopped them at two. The estimate for remediation came to $8,800. Their model worked perfectly: we obviously didn't contract with them for the work (another licensed, insured company did the job for $1,200) and they pocketed $950 for 20 minutes of gabbing by Lennin. I seriously doubt they have crews or do their own work; they probably subcontract out the actual remediations in a panicked scramble if someone actually goes ahead and hires them to do the job. I tried, like several others who've dealt with these swindlers, to dispute the charge but had no luck ("services" were already rendered, I was told by a VISA call center rep., so the charge stands). If you think you have mold - DO NOT call ... - and definitely, do not let his sidekick ... into your home. I may not be able to get my money back right now, but at least I can warn others and prevent them from losing theirs. One last thing: check these guys out on Yelp; there are over a dozen people who have stories just like mine. more

BEWARE! A representative of Absolutely Spotless came to my house to do a mold inspection because I had some concerns about the air quality in the house since it been vacant for 6 months before we moved in. He suggested I do a number of tests and told me I would probably need a few thousand dollars of air duct work to address my concerns. He charged me about $3k and told me that it would cover the cost of the tests and most, if not all, of the cost of the air duct cleaning that I wanted done. Then I got an insane email from the owner, Philip Kossoy, basically suggesting that my house was infested and suggesting that I turn my entire house into a toxic, unliveable chemical factory for 1-2 weeks for the low, low price of $15,000! When I told him I just wanted to use the 3k that I paid to have my air ducts cleaned, he refused and said "thats not how this works!" And when I asked for a refund, he laughed at me and said that "it will never happen!" Eventually I had to go to another remediation company that happily did the work for $1,800. Check them out. Oh, and not surprisingly, I also learned after the fact that the owner (Philip Kossoy) actually spent time in JAIL for theft and fraud. I would like to commend Robert and his company for a job well done. You and your team approached our mold removal project with a professional and efficent plan that met our tight timeline and budget. The testing you recommended turned out to be critical, as you were right...the first company that came out for a free estimate wanted to do a whole bunch of unnecessary work. I almost fell for his recommendations so thank you for convincing me to go for the testing. It saved us thousands! The remediation project was led by your man Luke who made sure the team arrived on time every day and left our home clean every day.
