I am an actual client of this service-- Abbey's housekeeping. I was moving out of the house I rented. She quoted me an amount for two people to clean a three bedroom, two bathroom house. It was very clear. She said $80 for four hours. On the day of cleaning, they called and changed the schedule to morning instead of afternoon so I had to scramble around and change my schedule that day so I can be there while they cleaned. Lo and behold, only one person showed up. Oh apparently, the owner , Abbey herself, gave me the ""wrong"" quote. Eighty bucks was only one person. Two people would cost me $120. Okay, I said fine. I had already moved out. The house was empty. I just wanted the house cleaned so I can move on. \r \r The office person on the phone said that I will like the cleaning lady, she is very good. When this cleaning lady arrived, she proceeded to tell me it was he first time to work for Abbey's. This bait and switch was becoming very clear to me. What follows is a disaster. She did not know how to clean. I had to keep telling her how to remove and what to use on mildew in the shower/bathroom. She left crayon marks on the wall (very easy to clean with ""eraser""). She said she vacuumed but I had to vacuum again after she left because I saw and felt a lot of dust on my feet each time I walked. She left one bathroom sink untouched. I had to do that myself, too. There was dirt on the wood floor that simple mopping could not do--it had to be scrubbed lightly with a wet paper towel. She did not clean the stove top. Left it greasy and untouched. I had to follow this housekeeper which means I wasted my money and should have gone with a more expensive company because I had to follow her work to make sure it was done right. Serves me right for looking for cheap labor. This incident has taught me a big lesson. If you are a client, stay away from this cleaning service. If you are a prospective employee, I would stay away based on the reviews I have read here. more

I've been using Abbey's service for almost 10 years now despite the mediocre cleaning I have been receiving. I did have one awesome girl back in 2002 but she moved away after 9 months and none of the others were nearly as good. The last one they sent me on Oct 23,2011 decided to use BLEACH on the baseboards in my master bathroom instead of plain old soap and water. Well she somehow sprayed bleach on the walls and I now have white streaks down two of my bathroom walls. And since this is the only room in my house I paid extra to have faux painted 8 years ago it is not an easy fix. You can't just paint over it. It has a mixture of colors and a design which means I need to hire a professional to repaint the entire room. I called Abby the very next day about the incident to see what she would do to fix it. No return call back. I called the next day and the day after that, each time leaving the same detailed message. I waited a week and called again. Abby was conveniently never in the office when I called. It's been a month now and she has still not contacted me. I am DONE with this company and will not recommend it to anyone. I don't think the girls are trained properly on how to clean, what to clean and what products are safe to use on what surfaces. And now I am out $450 to have the entire bathroom re-faux painted. more

I used Abbey's 2 years ago for a period of 6 months with mediocre results. As soon as we could find a good replacement we switched. Out of an act of desperation, I called Abbey's back this week and got a cleaner scheduled in 2 days. Unfortunately, the cleaner used bleach on my tile floors and failed to pick up our 5x8 entryway rug which led to the edges of the rug being completely bleached out (from their normal dark brown color). I called Abbey, and the housekeeper separately, and requested a partial refund of the $60 cleaning fee. Note that I didn't ask for the rug to be replaced (cost more than $60!) Abbey said ""absolutely not"" and told me it was between me and the housekeeper! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. The convenience of her ""scheduling"" business front is the perfect way for her to avoid taking any responsibility for the cleaner's mistakes! On top of all this she had the audacity to talk down to me and say ""this isn't my first pony show""....what the hell is that supposed to mean?!?! Are there other people out there living with bleached-out rugs after using Abbey's?? I HAVE HAD SERVICE ON AND OFF WITH ABBEY'S AND WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE IT HOME ON TIME AND HAD TO USE MY CREDIT CARD, BIG MISTAKE......HUGE!! THEY HAVE CON'T TO CHARGE $190.00 WORTH OF CHARGES ON MY CARD. I BROUGHT IT TO THERE ATTENTION ON SEVERAL OCCAS. AND I HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF WITH NO RETRIBUTION OR PAYBACK. We just moved here from New Jersey and needed assistance with unpacking, setting up and cleaning up. Abbey's people were prompt, professional and helpful. They even took our trash away!
