I was very happy with Abbey Carpets Unlimited Design Center initially, their sales staff was great and answered all questions.
As it turned out that product is not very good in manufactured homes, which is what I have. It's a floating vinyl floor and the planks move and I end up with gaps in heavily traveled areas. I wish they would have told me this, because they knew I had a manufactured home.
They contracted out their installation and I was not happy with the guy running the show. There was paint left on the floor it took them a day longer than they anticipated, the supervisor would show up unannounced and he actually stood me up the first time he was supposed to come by.
Then I couldn't get a installation date from him, finally I had to call Abbey and they had him call me but then he said he had to come the next morning, which I couldn't do because I had just moved in and had boxes everywhere. He basically said take it or leave it.
He told me they wouldn't charge me to move the boxes, even though I told him there would be a lot. It took them a whole extra day, he came back to me a few days later and wanted to charge extra 4 to 500 dollars because of the boxes. I thought we negotiated this and he wasn't really having it, basically I ended up having to pay him just to get him to leave.
I went back to Abbey and I said I think I need support from them but they said they were sorry and you have deal with the contractor to get money back.
The installers were very nice it just took them too long, they were rushing toward the end and the lead guy I didn't care for very much, he was a bit rude.
In the end I paid more than I felt I should have and the product I got isn't correct for my home, so I am not sure what to do from here on out, the floor is still separating where it isn't supposed to.
