Creatively Impressive! 3/27/2014

ABBEY CARPET & FLOORS OF SAN MATEO installed a floor in one of our bedrooms. It was sort of an unusual project because they had to rip up the old carpet, lay the flooring and then paint it white. I also had a strict budget in mind and Keith worked with us on that. He was very helpful in terms of coming up with alternatives that could save us money. Everybody was very upbeat and helpful in helping us solve our problem creatively. The installer also did an excellent job. We are very happy and everything looks great. more

We used Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo for the second time. We were looking for an area rug for our daughter's room, and they ended up finding a scrap piece that worked perfectly! They had great service, and we're very happy! more

Terrific! 3/11/2014

My Realtor recommended me to Abbey Carpet and they put carpeting in my house and condo. I didn't have a lot of time with the condo so they came in very quickly, the next day, and they were done within hours. They were really accommodating with what we wanted to spend, very professional, installed the next day like they promised, and were really good. They didn't push anything that we didn't need. They were terrific and I would go back again. more

Great choices for wool carpeting. Easy location and great service. 3/7/2014

This was my first time shopping at Abbey Carpet of San Mateo. They spent a long time helping me pick a wool carpet. Nancy was especially helpful in giving details of different kinds of carpet. They were pretty prompt at getting the order in and getting the rug to me quickly once I ordered it. All things were just easy. more

Overall, working with Abbey Carpet was fine. 2/28/2014

I have dealt with 2 different Abbey Carpet franchises over the years; one in San Jose, and the other in Menlo Park. The first one in Menlo Park installed a lot of carpet and flooring for me and they did a fine job at that. However, a seam in the carpet opened up, so I went and purchased the same material to fix it myself. In San Jose, they did some carpet work and I went back to the store in Menlo Park to have them heat weld it instead of using their old technique. I was still a bit annoyed about the first carpet coming apart, so I had to wait for my blood pressure to go down a bit, but overall the entire process was fine. more

Good product and service installation 2/19/2014

Abbey Carpet and Floors of San Mateo Installed carpet and floor in bedrooms of our house. The two downstairs bedrooms went fine. With the two upstairs bedrooms, they didn't order enough material so it was a question between whether they didn't order enough, or if the manufacturer hadn't given them the stuff. It took them longer. more

Immaculate job 2/3/2014

Christiansen was the fellow who helped me out. He came right out and did measurements of the 3 rooms that I wanted done. He was prompt and cleaned up after himself when he was finished. Another time there were 2 fellows that came out and they were immaculate from start to finish. About a week and a half ago I called them back once again and they did a superb job. more

Great selection and beautiful carpet in the end. 1/30/2014

Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo helped me select a carpet for a living room padding as part of a bigger remodel project. They had a great selection of carpets, and they were helpful in choosing and ordering everything. The only reason I slightly downgraded their rating was because the installation was not a particularly good experience. The installer mixed up the day of the installation. He was supposed to have a helper, but he didn't that do, so he was alone for the work. It was clear that he was rushing and not happy that he had to work alone. He was a little sloppy. He also messed up some newly applied paint. In the end, however, the carpet came out beautifully, and our painter did not mind touching up his work. Overall, the selection and the final product were great. Just be sure the installer is careful with everything. more

The guys sent by Abbey Carpet & Floors did a great job. They came in and did the job they were supposed to do and overall I was very satisfied with the result. I will be recommending them to many of my friends when I get the chance. more

Courteous, expeditious service! 1/17/2014

I've used Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo twice in the last couple of months. We've ordered a couple of rug pads from them among other things. They offer reasonable prices. They are very knowledgeable, so it's an easy transaction. I've spoken with Pete in the Menlo Park store. He is very polite, very courteous and very helpful. He's a pleasure to talk with, and he always calls me back. He knows what he's talking about! He's been really great! more

Nancy & her team saved me from a disaster! 1/9/2014

ABBEY CARPET & FLOORS OF SAN MATEO SAVED ME. I was going to go with another company at first that was suggesting I glue down a 3/4-inch hickory floor. Even though nobody else was recommending this, they still wanted to do it. Abbey Carpet & Floors let me know plainly that that was not the type of flooring I should be using. They saved me from a real disaster! Their installation was awesome, and it ended up being a wonderful experience. Nancy and her team were amazing to work with. more

I worked with Keith and he was very knowledgeable and professional. I especially recommend his services to anyone looking to get any carpet work done. This was the first time I had worked with Abbey Carpet & Floors but I was more than satisfied with them. As a former interior decorator, Keith was recommended to me by my neighbor, so he was not with the company at the time but both my neighbor and I were thoroughly impressed with his work. more

Everything went very well. 9/11/2013

I purchased a remnant carpet from Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo. They sent some guys out to install it down a stairwell. The installation went fine. I had removed all the carpet before they got here because there was some painting I wanted to do ahead of time. I asked them to haul away the old carpet with them, which they did. The installation took a really long time. I'm not exactly sure why it took so long--it took the whole day--but I guess it was a complicated job. The workers were pleasant enough. I didn't interact with them too much; they were very independent. Overall, the service was good. They did what they said they would. They had a hole in their schedule that they were able to schedule me in, so I got service pretty fast. more

I had a good experience. 8/30/2013

When I went into Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo I knew what I was getting already. I just went in to pick a color and order the carpet. I picked it up on site as well, so I didn't have tons of contact with the company. But the people I interacted with were very friendly and nice. My only concern was that when I went in there was only one person that was able to place the order at that location and he happened to be out on a job. I would think that in a store front you would have more than one person to take an order, but they did not. more

Abbey Carpet & Floors of San Mateo did wall-to-wall carpeting for 2,000 square feet, in addition to doing the sides for a very large rug I had purchased. Keith from the Menlo Park location was FABULOUS. He came to my house, helped me pick colors, and was just fabulous. The installers were excellent, too! more
