Abbey Carpet & Floor

We've gone to Abbey Carpet & Floor before and been happy with them. We've had good luck with them on previous carpets, and the same great salesman has always helped us. The installers, however, were different than the ones we'd had this time around. The way they did the work over our landing's edge was a problem. The seams don't look nearly as good this time as before. I'm also not as happy with the carpeting. We would have chosen just a regular strand, not silk, if we had realized how difficult it would be to vacuum. We went ahead and bought a different vacuum for it, as suggested by Abbey. The carpet is still getting caught and pulled, though. I think people need to be made aware of how difficult it is. We went back to Abbey for a reason, but we just aren't as satisfied this time. more

Abbey Carpet & Floor put in some new flooring for me. They put in both carpeting and something similar to Pergo. That was about it. The people were very good, their customer service was very good, and I like the new flooring. Abbey Carpet & Floor offers a very well-priced product and they install it quite competently. more

We've used them a lot actually. The sales people have been great and the installs have been great. We will continue to use them and if people ask we recommend them. more

The saleswoman, Deanne, showed up when scheduled and was great to work with. We got just what we wanted and it was installed on schedule. Can't wait to replace our bedroom carpet! more

I would recommend Abbey Carpet and Floor with the comment that they need to have somebody from Abbey Carpet do professional measurements. They didn't do that for me and we ended up being short! I had to pay for the extra carpet and I was frustrated when I had to pay the bill. Jeff was good about not charging me extra with the labor. Diana took the figures that I gave her and I said, "This is what I measured." She said she was willing to turn the carpet another direction. I didn't know what that meant. When the carpet was about to be laid, the installer said, "No, we can't do that," and I had to order more. Diana's comment was "Well, if you don't have someone come and measure it, those are your figures." It meant another week in delay for being able to get in the room because it was still torn up. I had two rooms done. Jeff has his heart in the right place. I just didn't feel confident about Diana. I don't know if I will get flooring from them again. If Jeff is wanting to continue with the business, they need someone to come and take the measurements. As far as the carpet, it is excellent carpet. We're very pleased with it and with the laying of the carpet. They let us bring the samples home to check them in the room with the lighting. The measurement issue was my only negative experience. The carpet was delivered when they said it would and everything was done in a timely manner. I liked that they told us upfront what the cost would be for them to take out the old carpet and gave us that option. I liked that we got to choose because we decided to pull up the old carpet ourselves. Jeff was very professional and it's clear that he wants to do a good job with his business. more

The experience with Abbey Carpet & Floor was fine, nothing outstanding. I'm currently very annoyed with them because the fellow they recommended to install the carpet used his own glue. I had already spent $15 on a glue they had told me needed to be used on this linoleum. I took the glue back but they told me that the guy was not part of their company. They said they would keep the can there and see if the salesman would take it back next time he came around but they have yet to call me back. I bought it there, I paid for it there, so I can't understand why they wouldn't give me my money back. They had one very nice employee, Carol. She was very pleasant. But aside from that, it was just a very annoying business transaction. As far as I'm concerned, they owe me $15. RESPONSE FROM Abbey Carpet & Floor: Jean, I apoligize that you had an annoying transaction. This incident was never brought to my attention. I have reviewed it and found that the glue was a special order so that you would have all the material to get the job completed to your satisfaction. The installer you used chose not to use this material. Normally we do not take back any special orders, but I would be happy to refund your $15 in order to satisfy your concern. Abbey Carpet & Floor has a great product and good service. I was looking for nice flooring and got what I expected: an awesome product. I have recommended their product to other contractors and when they see my flooring they like it too. It is one of the best products I have ever used, others do not compare.
