AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

I was quite depressed when I first learned that my car needed transmission work, but the guys at Aamco in Arlington did a lot to help ease the pain. The Service Manager, Shannon Miller, is not only friendly, knowledgeable, and a good communicator, but his low-pressure approach to explaining what is wrong with your trans and what he can do to fix it will give you confidence that you've brought your car to the right place. Shannon's a guy you can trust. In the end, my car runs great and I paid a heck of a lot less than what my dealership quoted me for a remanufactured transmission. I was so impressed, I'm sure I'll be going back to Aamco for other work that I need done on my vehicles. more

After bringing my car in to be fixed, it was checked out. I was told what was wrong and how much it would cost. I also needed other work done. One of the things I requested was found to need no work done for it. I was only charged what I was quoted. They could have repaired something that didn't need it, and charged me for it. But they didn't because they are fair and honest. They will see my business again. more

Always treated courteously, and was provided a rental car when repair took longer than expected. Air conditioner works like new after being fixed. more

I've been doing business with AAMCO of Jacksonville for many years. The car I drive is 40 years old, and it's had a rebuilt transmission for about 15 years ago. It has a lifetime warranty, and has to go in one a year for a check, so I take it to AAMCO once a year. If there is any other work to be done on it, they have been doing it at the same time, and the price has been fair. more

Shannon and his father are excellent reps for your comapny. They were helpful and well educated with necassaary repair. They saved me a tremendous amount of money making me feel confident to spend the money on repairing my vehicle. They were also proactive in fixing a faulty design by Nissan by adding an external cooling system to my vehicle. Nissans design employed an internal cooling mechanisum that has failed in the units once they reach over 100k. It causes complete transmission failure by contaminating the transmission fluid with coolant. Shannon and Aamco installed the external unit and have gievn me piece of mind that I may not encounter this problem in the future. All in all it was a pleasant expirience and i would trust your folks to service beyond the transmission. They were all polite and very knowlegdable. I thank Aamco and Shannon for their commitment to customer service and will happily come to them again in the future! more

Quickly & accurately diagnosed problem I was having with my car with a fair price did not use "labor" as an excuse to make repair 300 more than the acutual parts it cost to fix. No switch & bait no gimmicks. I've tried other auto repair shops & was dooped. I will search no more this is my auto repair shop. more

AAMCO of Jacksonville has very good service, and I can't complain about the value either. They're good people. I've had good experiences with them. If there's anything that we had issues with, they're always there to take care of it. more

I went in with a possible Oil Leak and my check engine light was on. This Aamco had worked on my Camaro before when I had a serious problem with it and were the only ones who were able to identify the issue. Shannon was very helpful and explained everything to me. He didn't try to rob me. He identified 3 distinct issues one of which I was unaware of. End result, was the the Oil Leak who someone else had told me was really bad was so minor that he advised me not to worry about it any time soon. Just to keep an eye on it. He fixed my transmission leak (the car feels much better now) and identified the reason for the check engine. Having to do with the exhaust, he recommended me to another shop who specialized in what I needed done and I was quoted a great price. His advice and recommendations allowed me to resolve the two major issues for the price that it would have cost me to fix one somewhere else and the level of service was great. Shannon will CERTAINLY be the first place I go anytime I need anything else done. more

My initial experience was amazing. I talk with Shannon and his dad on a personal level, and it has been amazing. I loved the experience. I told all my friends about them. They're really good people, but the bottom-line is that I wished someone would have worked with me on an issue I've been having with my car. i called aamco transmissions on atlantic blvd when the dealer said i needed a new transmision. they said they'd check it free and found out it was two solnoids. i gave them a 4 on service because they said it would be ready on thursday afternoon but it wasn't until friday at lunchtime. other than that they saved me a lot of money and were really nice. more

This was my first time going to AAMCO Arlington Jacksonville. They were extremely courteous, helpful and very informative. My overall satisfaction with them is outstanding. I'm taking all my future business to them. more
