Best

Although intially a little frustrated when AAA couldn't find my paperwork for installing my water heater in 2007, which had a 6-year warranty, things finally did get settled with ...

Worst

I have used this company several times. Once I was trying to find a leak. The person that came out did some tests which I thought were rather expensive for what he did. He said it...

AAA rip off 4/23/2010

Our furnace went out and I called these guys. The ""repair man"" knew exactly what the problem was, but wanted to charge over $700 to replace a $175 part. I did the job myself, it took about 30 minutes. I just wish I would have diagnosed the problem myself, I wouldn't be out the $100 service fee I had to pay. Basically the guy just wanted to sell me a new $5000 furnace, so he priced the repair job so high so I wouldn't want to do it. You're better off calling a handyman. Pros: knowledgeable repairmain (AKA salesperson) Cons: rip you off and try to sell you stuff you don't need more

Consumer Beware! 2/9/2010

After calling for service on our furnace and being given a 2 hour window for the tech to show up, I waited all day for him to arrive (6 hours after window had expired). Once on the job, he quickly determined that there were 7 cracks in our heat exchanger and that he was ""obligated"" to shut the system off. He claimed that he had never seen that amount of damage to an exchanger, and was quick to quote a price for replacement. Not only did he size the old & new furnaces incorrectly, the price was more than twice what we ended up paying another contractor. Although he was professional and knowledgeable, I believe this company's sales tactics are questionable at best... To top it off, once the new contractor removed the old furnace and inspected the heat exchanger, there was no damage/cracks whatsoever. I recommend getting a few quotes to compare with AAA! Pros: Professional Cons: Very Expensive more

There are better plumbers at more reasonable prices 11/23/2009

I have used this company several times. Once I was trying to find a leak. The person that came out did some tests which I thought were rather expensive for what he did. He said it was the tile that was leaking. The person that I had come out and do the tile found that it was the overflow valve; the AAA plumber had tightened it but he had not checked the washer, which was completely deformed and useless. Once we replaced that, the leak was gone. Also, several times there have been misunderstandings about the time of my appointment. I have been told that they tech would arrive within a two hour window and then told no, they don't do that it's just sometime that day. I have also had someone show up without calling first as they are supposed to, especially if the tech is delayed. Lastly, I had to get a new furnace and their prices were much much higher than other companies, including ones who had what I consider superior equipment (eg Rheem vs Goodman). more

Avoid! 9/4/2009

If only I had read the other reviews before calling this company. They would not give a price range for a new water heater over the phone, which should have been my first warning. Then they didn't show up when our appointment was scheduled. When we finally met, the technician quoted **$2,500** to install a new water heater. No -- that's not a typo!! I paid the $50 fee for this piece of worthless info and sent him on his way. The next day I had Sears install a new water heater for $700.\r \r Advice: STAY AWAY! Cons: Scam Artists more

Scammers. Stay away. 2/28/2009

Stay away from these rip-off artists. They refuse to give quotes over the phone, and want to charge $50 to come to give a quote. Then, they don't even bother to look at the problem, and look up the price quote in a book! Wow. Why couldn't they do that over the phone? Of course, the rate quoted is 4x greater than similar work we have had performed by other plumbers. It looks to me like they are just trying to make $50 to give quotes, and build their business around that. It's clearly a scam. Stay away. Cons: Scammers more

Worst plumbing experience ever - beware! 11/23/2008

Our bathtub started leaking from the pipes below the drain. We only have 1 shower, so we had to get it fixed fast. We called AAA Service Plumbing, and they sent someone out that day. The service person replaced some pipes. It took him about 2 hours, but they charged us $900. When we used the shower the next time, we saw the pipes were leaking. There was a water trail that showed where the water was coming from. We called and they sent the same person out. This time, he said the water was coming from our bathtub, which was rusting a bit. We pointed out the water trail, but he said it was still coming from the bathtub, which was physically impossible and would violate the laws of gravity. He put a bunch of caulking on the bathtub and left. Of course, the pipe was still leaking. So we called a third time, and the same person came out again. After arguing for about an hour about gravity and where the water trail was coming from, he insisted that the water was leaking from our bathtub and proceeded to give us a quote to replace the bathtub. The quote was for almost $7000, which is hilarious. He left, and the pipes still leaked. So finally we called and asked for a manager. We asked them to send out someone else, because obviously the first guy was clueless. They sent out their master plumber. This guy started out agreeing with the first guy, but after another half hour of arguing, he decided to run some tests. Surprise! The leak was coming from where we said it was. After four trips to our house and considerable cajoling on our part, they finally fixed the leak that they created in the first place. If we had listened to what they said, we would be out $8000 for something we don't need yet. This company is out to rip people off, and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Stay away! more
