I had a purebred Persian cat who was aging and started coughing a lot and had symptoms of a heart condition. We brought her to Dr. Sheffield where he ran some expensive tests, some were for things he had vaccinated her for over the span of several years, so why test for that, she was an indoor cat? None the less, I spared no expense and he diagnosed her with a hyper-active thyroid which was resulting in elevated hear rate thickening heart walls so he medicated her with thyroid medication and never told me that correcting this could kill her at this point. Essentially, the med slowed her heart rate and she became lethargic and would not stand up or eat. I brought her back, where he informed me she now appeared to have neurological damage and must be put down, of course this was after more tests and electrolytes ($600 worth). She never went back home, he then charged me $300 to put her to sleep after is ill-medical practices killed her. If I had never gone to him with her condition
