Wonderful vet! 10/8/2011

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sheffield and his practice. Another vet botched our cat's surgery and not only did Dr. Sheffield take us in an emergency immediately (even though we had never been there before), but he fixed him up perfectly and made sure his surgery healed correctly. Wonderful staff and we're grateful to have found him! more

Dr. Sheffield was very detailed in examining my cat. It turned out that she had a skin infection after one visit my cat has her hair back!! I recommend this doctor that is in need of a vet! He knows his stuff and the staff is great too!!! more

Client 2/14/2011

Great staff and doctor. It is a very clean and well run practice. I highly recommend it. Each time I have been to the clinic they have treated me like one should be treated. It is also easy to find and well located with good curb appeal and lighting. The doctor and staff will welcome me and my pet by name on each visit. more

Great to work for and with 1/21/2011

I have worked with Dr. Sheffield for over 8 yrs and his knowledge about animals is unbelievable! So many people come in our facility from other clinics upset cause they have spent so much money and still their animals are having issues. Numerous times Dr. Sheffield has helped with issues and people are very greatful. He is very generous and always gives quotes and doesnt just send you to the receptionists to be taken by surprise. He definately picked the right profession. more

No more ear infections!! 12/13/2010

I am SO happy to have found Dr. Sheffield and his staff. I have been seeing my previous vet for years and my dog has had severe ear infections that never seem to go away for very long. After one visit with Dr. Sheffield he diagnosed my baby with a thyroid issue. Now after a few months with simple thyroid medication, my baby is happy and healthy with NO ear infections. His office was also very clean and his staff overly friendly and helpful. Thank You to Dr. Sheffield and his staff! more

Wonderful Doctor & Staff! A+ 8/7/2010

For those who have written comments about Dr. Sheffields personality, you have not taken the opportunity to get to know him. I especially find offensive the comments concerning the Dr. not "caring" about the animals. He is actually more of an animal person than a people person! No, he isn't all hugs and kisses and smiles, but he is very KNOWLEDGEABLE! My dog and two cats are all patients of his and he actually saved one of my kitty's life. In addition, he always lets you know UP FRONT what a treatment will cost (much unlike some of the other vets around here), and has even given me tips to "save money" in the long run considering my dog has severe allergies. I guess if you want a vet who is going to hold your hand and tell you just want you want to hear, you need to go somewhere else. If you want an extremely competent doctor who really cares about your animal, you will not find better than Dr. Sheffield. As a plus, his office staff is the BEST! more

Best place to adopt a kitten 4/27/2010

My Mom adopted a kitten (my best friend Zoey) from AA Animal Clinic and I am so happy. They made sure she had been tested for everything and had her first shots. She was so much healthier than kittens I have got from the humane society (they are always sick with a upper respiratory infection). When she had to be spayed, I felt good knowing she wasn't going to be in a place where other sick cats were having their surgery too. All I had to do was finish her kitten shots to keep her healthy. Thank you Dr Sheffield and his staff for my best friend and keeping her healthy. more

get results without going broke 4/27/2010

I had gone to Value Vet on numerous occassions for a skin condition my pet has and after lots of monies spent I decided to go to another Vet for second opinion, long story short I ended up going to 3 others finally landing Dr. Sheffield's office I have gotten successful results and my pet hasnt had anymore issues, he really knows his stuff and all were great to deal with there they are all very professional and outgoing. more

Shelby 4/27/2010

The ONLY vet I would recommend!!! My dog has severe allergies and I have been to several vets in the area and no one could help her. Dr. Sheffield had her feeling better in a matter of hours and she looks like a new dog. Her skin has cleared up and her hair has grown back...but best of all, she has been back to normal for over 6 MONTHS. They are wonderful!!! I thank them so much for relieving my baby's suffering. more

Good vet! Very knowledgable 1/19/2010

After having an unsatifactory experience here a few years ago, I decided to go back and try again (it's hard for me to find a knowlegeble vet I feel comfortable with around here). This time I had a much better experience. I took my dog in for a Bordetella booster (they don't charge an office visit - very nice) and she was having some allergy problems again. I mentioned it to one of the girls there and she said the doctor could get her in right away if I wanted him to look at her... I did, and he got her all fixed up. Her allergies have been acting up again lately, so I brought her in to see him again and I didn't hardly have to wait at all. The doctor was great and gave me some helpful suggestions and ways to help manage her allergies & modify her diet. more

Aa Animal Clinic is Great 12/3/2009

My oldest dog has been a patient of Dr. Sheffield's for 15 years. On numerous occasions he has saved her life - and of course it is never on a weekday. He is always available, even on Sundays for an urgent situation. My other dog and my cat are also his patients and they are kept in great health thanks to him. I have recommended him to many of my friends and they are all very happy with him. more

Would never use again... 3/22/2008

I had a purebred Persian cat who was aging and started coughing a lot and had symptoms of a heart condition. We brought her to Dr. Sheffield where he ran some expensive tests, some were for things he had vaccinated her for over the span of several years, so why test for that, she was an indoor cat? None the less, I spared no expense and he diagnosed her with a hyper-active thyroid which was resulting in elevated hear rate thickening heart walls so he medicated her with thyroid medication and never told me that correcting this could kill her at this point. Essentially, the med slowed her heart rate and she became lethargic and would not stand up or eat. I brought her back, where he informed me she now appeared to have neurological damage and must be put down, of course this was after more tests and electrolytes ($600 worth). She never went back home, he then charged me $300 to put her to sleep after is ill-medical practices killed her. If I had never gone to him with her condition more

Unbelievably Uncaring 7/7/2007

We took our Sugar Glider to this doctor because she was VERY sick. My daughter in tears the vet asked us to pay $800 - $900 for xrays and (a word it won't let me write here) work. I informed him I would do it in a heartbeat if I did have it. Then he says I will give her antibiotics and calcium shots ($226 - which was he diagnoses: her calcium was way to low from not getting any direct sunlight) if we PROMISED to follow his instructions exactly with his home treatment plan. Never once did he say "this might not work or we can TRY this". She stopped breathing in my daughters hands 5 hours later. Very distraught I ran her back to the vet (she died in route) where he didn't even come out to console or even try to explain the possibilities of her death to us. I suppose he thought his job was done. When returning home I researched extensively to find that you should NEVER EVER put a Sugar Glider in direct sunlight. This can blind them. I told him that I had never read this anywhere. He treated me as if I was just ill informed and should have researched better. Research is complete, he was wrong and was unbelievably uncaring. I am not naive.. I didn't believe she would make it however he gave undoubtful hope that she would survive to my daughter and myself. If he had just once said I can't know FOR SURE until the I do (a word it won't let me write here) work or take an xray....we would have at the very least gone for a second opinion. Pros: Clean, nice parking lot Cons: Makes you feel uneducated, non caring vet more

TRACYM 4/11/2007

I HAS TAKEN MY ANIMALS TO DR. S. FOR MANY YEARS. SEVERAL TIMES HE HAS SEEN ME W/O AN APPOINTMENT. HE IS NOT THERE TO WIN A PERSONALITY CONTEST. HE IS THERE TO MAKE MY ANIMALS HEALTHY AGAIN. HE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN.I WOULD NEVER THINK OF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. more

Horrible Dr 11/21/2006

I took my puppy to this Dr initially for his shots. The Dr. is not very nice at all, I thought that he may have been having a bad day. When my dog needed extensive treatment for his injury the Dr was much to my surprise, very rude and unprofessional. He does not appear to care about these animals. I have no idea why he chose this field of work because he is definitely not a people person and he has serious communication problems. He does not know how to speak to people and I would not recommend even taking a stray animal to his office. more

Not very warm and caring... 8/31/2006

I have been taking my dog to this vet since we moved to the area last December... I didn't know anyone that lived near me to recommend a vet, so I decided to go to this one because it was so close to where I live. I had my dog spayed there and she's had a few boosters done there, but I had never met the doctor until I took her in earlier this week for a skin problem. We had an appointment and waited for over an hour for him to see us, which he only spent a very short time with us. He didn't seem like he knew what was wrong with her and wasn't very warm and friendly. He didn't really explain his diagnosis and talk anything over with me, which left me confused and not feeling confident that she would get better. I took her for a second opinion elsewhere and had much better results... they explained everything to me (including why the other vet prescribed what he did)and they were very caring and sweet with my dog. If you want a warm and caring vet I would go elsewhere... PROS: Con more
