We had been without heat for two days when we were referred to A #1 Air. We called mid-morning, and because of other calls, they arrived mid-afternoon. Before they arrived, we received a call that they were on the way. After a brief explanation of what had happened, the Tech knew immediately what our problem was - and it was. Within 15 minutes the part was replaced and we removed our winter jackets. I would highly recommend A #1 Air as a knowledgeable, professional and very reasonably priced company- most refreshing. more

I had I had this company out today and I had the best service from the nicest repair person I have ever had in my home. I never really leave reviews but I called in to their office to commend the young man, Jorge. He was so polite and he took every step and then some to do a very complete inspection and service of our system. We will absolutely use this company and we will always ask for our favorite techJorge! more

Called for an easy tune-up. The unit needed a bit of freon so I asked for their special $69 Super Tune-Up. The repairman was friendly enough, seemed perfectly knowledgeable. After he spent a few minutes tinkering around with the unit, he came back and told me that a small part was wearing through and ought to be replaced. He quoted me a reasonable price (~$35) and installed it. When he finished, added the freon and brought the bill, it was more than $300! I asked him why I was being charged $265 for the freon and cleaning. He said, ""When I replaced that part, the order changed from a tune-up to a repair."" Basically, they wouldn't give me the $69 price anymore because he installed that stupid part. I felt duped. I would recommend avoiding business with such practices. more

A-1 Air responded quickly this morning after we received 5 inches of snow and ice and our furnace had stopped working. They diagnosed that the igniter was not sparking after a full inspection. They cleaned the igniter and that was the only issue. My furnace requires two people to maneuver the assembly and even though they showed me how to service it, I'd still prefer to let the the pros handle that. It only cost $49 for the service call with their current promotion. I prepaid one year service and I am expecting A-1 to continue to deliver great service on time! Thanks Ralph and Courtney! more

My air conditioning system wasn't working, and I called to make an appointment. Unfortunately, they were closed for Thanksgiving vacation. No worries, I thought, I'll get a call back on Monday. But no -- Sunday afternoon I get a call from A #1 Air. They had so many calls that they were getting a head start on calling people back !! Now THAT is customer service!! I got an appointment for Tuesday, and they promptly arrived to check things out. The guy checked my system, and within a few minutes had diagnosed the problem, AND had a replacement part in his truck !! He put up with my questions, and answered them all concisely and intelligently. Thanks so much!! more

I'm new to DFW area and found this great service I thought I should share with everyone. A #1 really impressed me with all the detailed checks when it looked so simple. When they left I have a ton of infomation to look back on, it was great. If your one of those people that like to know about everything that's going on or just want friendly service, these guys are it! more

It took them over a week to get my new A/C unit installed. Every evening I would call to find out why my system wasn't working. They would tell me that I was a technician's first stop the following morning. After noon the next day I would have to call again to find out why the tech never showed up. I'll at least give them credit for their excuses. more

We recently had a furnace installed at our home and wanted to share the experience. A #1 shared with us exactly what was wrong with our unit and showed us the difference we would see. I had a previous company come out and they did not do any of this , not to mention over $400 higher. It's nice to see a company that has motivated people. When the people came to install unit, the first thing they did is lay down mats everywhere so nothing got dirty, it was great. They had us up and running in about 3 hrs complete. A real 5 star company, highly recommended. more

A #1 Air came out to my house and did a excellent job on my fall tune up. If they didn't come out I could have been hurt by my furnace vent pipe not being connected correctly. Really shows that Tony did a through check up and that you really care, Thanks A #1! more

I recently moved to this area (McKinney, TX) and needed an a/c company to look at my a/c system as i felt it was not cooling properly. Because i did not know anyone that well who can recommend someone, i did an Internet search and came across this 5 star company. Can't go wrong there can i? Yes i can and yes i was.They added freon after they said that was the problem due to it being short of freon. Soon after adding the freon, they went on there way and i did not feel a difference in the temperature at all, but i gave it a while anyway. Well eventually, adding freon to the system made no difference and if anything it made it worse. I called them back and they added more freon (was not cheap) and went on there way again. Needless to say i had no confidence, so i pretty much expected the same result, and it was, still not cooling properly. I went back to my realtor (Jack Williams with Keller) and told him about my experiences with A #1 air and asked him if he knew of anyone. He gave me a phone # of someone he uses and i promptly called them out. This guy called Paul from DMS came out and found the problem within 10 minuets of being here. Now he was not able to repair it straight away as it needed a special part, but he was back the next day and carried out the repair. I was very happy indeed and will recommend them to anyone. Oh and just one more thing, Paul from DMS reclaimed 4 pounds of freon after the repair he made because it was overcharged with freon. I just want to add that the guy from A #1 air was a pleasant lad, but he just clearly lacked knowledge. more

This is the only review that you will need to read.. I have seen other reviews that say the same. If you use them you will see for yourself exactly what I am telling you. The repairman was very nice but they try to push their stupid rewards program and dont stop. There are 3 levels from 12-32 dollars a month and they will take 15% off and $30 off the $100 fee to come out. It is complete bs. Basically its $360 a year for nothing and it doesnt even take effect until you have done it for a year! They WILL absolutely try to push a new unit on you if yours is remotely older, costing $6000+ I called them bc I had a water build up under the unit. I did my research and found that a pipe was clogged, it froze up and was condensating, or the drain was clogged. He kept pushing more repairs on me that it did not need. After about an hour he could not tell me where the leak was. He said that he could cut the pipe to check for a leak but was not sure that would fix it and it would cost $600+. I told him he could put freon in the unit bc he said it was low and they charged me $350! They charged me twice as other companies I called to put freon in the unit. He did not fix my water problem. I took the vent off the wall myself and watched it drip into the drain and get clogged. That means the pipe he wanted to cut was not clogged at all. I did not even need freon and I needed a plumber, not an ac repair man. On top of that, I found a friend of a friend who is a repair man to come out and look at the unit and he said that everything looks good, it just may need new coils. He said at other places it can run up to $1500 but that is still no where near the $6000-$10,000 for a new unit. The A#1 guy was a very nice guy but I told him I just wanted to find out where the water was coming from. He was unable to tell me and I paid him for nothing. They have different levels of what they charge. Mine was a level 2. I looked closely after I had already paid him and I should have been half the price at a level 1. In fact, he did not even perform some of the level one duties listed! Save yourself the trouble. Use someone else. I can't tell you who is good but I used Tempo and they were quick, cheap, and did not try to oversell me anything. more
