A La Mode Hair Studio

I drive all the way from Palm Springs to Glendale, just to see Alina. I have been seeing her now for 3 years for my Hair Extensions and my hair Color. I have tried 3 different Hair Extension systems until I found "Ala Mode Hair Studio". I love going there. The attention to details, the comfortable environment and the energy of the salon is magnificent. Needless to say, the compliments I have gotten on my hair all these years, have been amazing!. Nobody believes that it is not my own hair !! It looks so natural, it feels so real, it stays so perfect from day 1, until the day we decide it's time to change it for a new set. (Ladies, this hair has taken 10 years off my life, no kidding). Pros: Ambience,great parking and service and extremely clean and comfortable.beautifully decorated Cons: I live in Palm Springs, I wish she was closer to me. No Cons At all. She is great!!!! more

I went in looking for a cut and added warmth in my color. I used the words "caramel" and "honey" to describe the colors I wanted to add to my dark hair, but that's not how it turned out. The layers in my cut were too severe. It looked like one haircut on top of another. The color was striped and ashy in tone. I started getting worried when nobody complimented me on the new look, and I'm the type who takes the time to blow-dry and style her hair every day. Pros: Easy to get an appointment. I went back a few months later to touch up my roots and voiced my concern about the cut and the color. We agreed to work towards integrating the choppy, chunky top layer with the rest of the cut and to brighten up the highlights. Unfortunately, our visions were not jiving as I ended up with YELLOW (not blonde, YELLOW) striped color in the front with plenty of dark hair underneath. I looked like a bumblebee. To make things worse, my usually healthy hair was very damaged after the first cut/color session and no better after the second. I thought I might be overreacting to the severe change and so waited for my husband to get home before dying the whole mess dark brown on my own. Despite the chunk of change I spent, I wasn't about to let this salon near my hair again. Once my husband saw it, he agreed that it looked weird, unnatural, and not flattering. I got more satisfaction out of my store-bought $10 bottle of L'Oreal Feria than from the two $250+ per visits at A la Mode. The prices at this salon are on par with what I paid when going to top salons on the West side, but their skills and aesthetic knowledge don't compare at all. I learned a lesson here. Many stylists advised me against going extremely lighter in color, explaining that it would take many processes and lots of maintenance to get it right and keep it right. Throwing caution to the wind after hearing the thoughts of one person up against the advice of many wise sages is a risk better suited to things not attached to your head. I've been going to Alina at A la Mode in Glendale for about a year or so now. She is the best and I love my hair. There really is no one like Alina. I have mostly grey hair and it is very hard to color and style. Alina gave me beautiful blonde hair with highlights and lowlights - similar to Jennifer Anniston. I get many compliments. I completely trust Alina with my hair and she always listens to all of my new ideas and gives me good feedback on how they will work with my hair. I am extremely picky about who touches my hair! Thats why I choose Alina! more

Alina is an amazing stylist. I got a cut and highlights and have been getting massive compliments. She works well with all hair types. Mine is very fine and straight and she gave me a cut adding tons of volume. Highlights added a bit of shine too. more

Alina did my hair for my wedding. I had a trial with her and my hair turned out great. I had a few concerns, and on the day of , she totally took everything into account and gave me the most amazing hair. My hair stayed in place all night and was absolutely gorgeous. I just got my pictures, so I have to gush on. She also did the coloring and it was so vibrant. I would recommend her to anyone, and indeed, I recommend her to all my friends Pros: Great results, and I've been to a LOT of salons. Cons: Can't really think of any. more

She managed to take my hair from what seemed to me as completely unfixable, to a pretty blonde shade. From that point on, I knew that I didn't need to go to any other salon! She does an excellent job with my highlights and lowlights, always manages to fit me into her schedule (even if it is last minute), and I am always satisfied with the end result. Two months after I see Alina, my hair color still looks good (i.e., it hasn't faded or washed out), and it looks very natural. The salon is nice because it is a relaxed environement and the staff that work there are very friendly. I highly recommend A La Mode! more

Originally I came to Alina because of all these fantastic reviews. Now I am writing my second one. The only thing that has changed in the four years I have be going to Alina is her new salon. She has assembled a great group of women all in one beautiful new location. Alina still does the best hair cuts and color that I have ever encountered. My hair looks great! I unfortunately read the sad review below and honestly don't get it....sounds like a sourpuss to me. Don't let one sourpuss deter you from the vast amount of 5 star reviews that I can vouch are the real ones! Thanks Alina...see you soon! Pros: Price, Service, Parking, and RESULTS. Cons: none more

If you want extensions, do not even look at other places, Alina is the best. I got extensions for the first time yesterday and I know I'll be back for more. I cut my hair super short and I missed my long hair, but I finally got it back yesterday and then some!! My hair is so long and so thick I feel like I stepped out of a magazine. Everyone at work is amazed at how great I look. The extensions look and feel so natural. Aliana and her staff are great, I've found my new hair salon! Thanks!! more

I've never had so many compliments on hair cuts. I've had some bad hair cuts....some bad luck finding someone who could please me over the past many years. I put off getting my hair cut, waiting almost a year between many of my "trims"....until I found Alina. Now I'm in on a very regular basis and get so many compliments every time! She says hair extensions are her thing....but I think anything having to do with hair is her thing! Highly recommend! Pros: Alina Cons: N/A more
